ITunes 9.2 freezes the moment it opens, even without iPhone connected

I upgraded to iTunes 9.2 as well as OS4 on my iPhone 3G, and suddenly it started freezing the moment I open it today, both with iPhone connected and without, so it can't have anything to do with the phone. It opens much quicker than normal (it usually takes at least half a minute to open normally, now it only takes like 5 seconds, so I have a feeling the program didn't even load properly), and the moment it opens the application is frozen, displayed as "not responding" in task manager. I can still move my mouse. Yes I've tried shutting down the iTunes.exe process manually and restarting it, that didn't work. And no I didn't subscribe to podcasts or anything. Is there anything else to do to fix this? I don't want to reinstall and risk losing all my settings and stuff....

    Let's first try updating your QuickTime Player to the most recent version. Does that help with the iTunes launch errors?

    I found the answer to my question.
    When you attach a device (iPhone, iPad) to your Mac, in iTunes 12 in appears as a tiny icon in the second "row" of the iTunes display. Click the icon and the familiar iTunes display for the device appears. From there, on the Summary screen, you can see the dates of the backups of the device (iCloud and backup to the computer). You can also use the button to backup to the computer.

    If you are referring to the fact that, in the App Store app, after you have installed or updated an App, that the Install button changes to now read "Open" then this does not mean that the App is Open and running. It means, rather, that, if you touch the button now marked "Open", the App will be started and "Open". It's just a quick way to get to the App you have just installed or updated.

    If you're using a USB hub take it out of the loop. Plug directly in to a USB port on the system. If you are using a front mounted USB port, try one on the back instead. If this doesn't correct it, try shutting off any firewall and antivirus software and turn off User Access Control.

    WHow long have you left it to charge?  Have you tried resetting it after a short period of time to see if that can help jumpstart the charging process? To do this, press and hold both the Select/Center and Menu buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear.

    I have been searching the net to establish if the apple watch can track distance without iPhone pairing. I have an older iPod nano which I use to measure distance indoors i.e on a treadmill, hopefully the apple watch could do the same. I believe that the iphone may be needed to track the route of the run, however I can't find any content about tracking distance without the iPhone.

    Thanks Frank, however, I was hoping for something about the accelerometer as I thought the watch would be pretty pointless for runners who don't always want to carry their iPhone with them, especially the iPhone 6 plus. Furthermore, if people want to track activity in indoor environments such as tennis courts or squash courts. I did find the below which helps.

  • ITunes freezes the moment its started.

    For the past few weeks I haven't been able to use the latest version of itunes on my computer. Sometimes the program doesn't open up, sometimes it opens up and crashes immediately, and sometimes it it'll freeze, save for an animated blue circle that pops up. Closing out of iTunes through the task bar winds up taking several minutes, if it'll close out at all. I've tried repairing the installation, performing a regular uninstall, and performing a complete uninstall of iTunes and its related programs. The problem persists whether I've got my iphone connected to it or not.
    My desktop more than meets the minimum requirements to run iTunes: it runs windows 8, has 4 gigs of ram, over 50 gigs of free hard drive space, and a 2.4 gig dual processor.

  • PDF reader xi run fine but freezes the moment you try to change a comment tool property

    video drivers and windows updates are all current versions.
    it appears that the program is not allowed to create a preference file because the program also locks up when you access preferences under the edit tab.
    I can draw a square ploygon or other tool but the moment I attempt to change the colour the program freezes.

    Can you open Reader by itself?  If so, try disabling Protected Mode [Edit | Preferences | Security (Enhanced)].
