Itunes 9.2, ipod touch 2g 8gb, ios 4, Wont sync, itunes doesnt recognize
Ive been through 100s of help sites and discussions, none of which have matched my issue. I have an Ipod Touch, 8GB 2g. Just bought it not too long ago. I updated to iTunes 9.2 (Please note my 3.1.3 firmware loaded itouch worked on itunes 8.2 but not the updated 9.2). Here's the issue. Whenever I connect my itouch to itunes, it doesnt give me any errors. Infact, on the left pane under devices, it shows my ipod, but the only right click options I have are "Eject". In the right pane, in the center of a big white space, it says "iPod" and thats all. There's no restore/update/backup sync buttons nothing. There's NOTHING. Ive tried putting into recovery mode. Ive tried updating to iOS4. Ive tried putting it into recovery mode in iOS4, still nothing. Same issues... and now after updating to iOS4 im stuck in "Connect to iTunes" on my ipod. Cant connect my ipod to my other computer with itunes 8.2 Its Horrible. What do I do now?
i'm encountering the same problem. just bought my ipod touch 4g 32G a couple of days ago. it took a long time for my itunes to recognize the new device & when it did i got an error msg saying that it won't sync. im running on 7 ultimate too. i've tried restoring it to no avail. i tried unplugging/re-plugging it from the port but it will still not show up in itunes. i've tried disabling the firewall & enhanced usb just as it was suggested in other help forums & still no luck. (i'm no computer savvy so i just rely on the help forums...its a hit or miss thing) i hope there's a kind soul who would be able to help me/us who are stuck in this issue.

Ipod Touch 4G 8GB iOS 4.3.3 wont sync or appear on itunes.
I have a 4 gen ipod touch 8 GB with iOS 4.3.3 installed previously i believe on iOS 4.3.1 i was able to sync just fine and added new music. Now on iOS 4.3.3 it stops syncing completely but i know my computer detects it because of the sound, im running windows 7 ultimate. Also currently im using and old connective wire to sync because I left the one that came with it at my place in davis and I am currently in oakland visiting family. Does the wire have anything to do with it or are more people having this problem too?

i updated my ipod and restoreed it twice and it is still not working it doesneconive my ipod and the only thing on my ipod screen is the freacking USB for the cord and a arrow pionting to a round itunes simble. i need my ipod i use it to txt and work and everything else i cant have it crash now.

ITunes 10.5 won't update files properly on my iPod Touch 4G running iOS 5, how can I fix this?
I recently updated iTunes to 10.5 and my iPod Touch 4G to iOS 5, but now when I try to edit the ID3 tags or artwork of songs on my
iPod using iTunes, iTunes just says "Preparing to update files" but it never actually updates them. When I try to add songs
manually to iPod (my iPod is not set up to sync music with iTunes [see note below]), the same thing happens, with the newly added
songs appearing on the iPod library but are grayed out with a still loading icon next to them. Also, in some instances when I try
to change the artwork of all the songs on an album, it grays out the songs I tried to change, puts an exclamation mark by them,
and applies those changes to other songs on my iPod! And if I delete the songs I attempted to change it deletes the songs that
were received the artwork change. The songs that were unintentionally changed somehow got overwritten by the songs I was trying to
change while retaining the original tags of the songs that were changed. Not sure if I'm explaining this clearly so let me give an
example: song A is a song on an album on my iPod, song B is on song on a completely different album on the iPod. When I change the
artwork on song A, it somehow messes up my library and song A overwrites song B, but it keeps all of song B's ID3 tags. So I don't
know song B is song A until I play song B, at which point the ID3 tags are changed to the tags of the song A, and song B is just
disappears. This only started happening after updating to iTunes 10.5 and iOS 5. Not sure if the problem is caused by iTunes 10.5
or iOS 5, but I did search online and found someone with the exact same problem effecting their iTunes 9.1 (no iPod involved).
Can someone please tell me why this is happening and how I can fix it?

I add songs manually to iPod because I don't keep my music on my PC and sync my music with iTunes because it would take up too
much space and I want to be able to add songs on my iPod from other computers. Once you set it up to sync music I believe it
disables making any changes to your iPod with iTunes on other computers.okay, I don't know about the rest, but about the songs never actually loading onto your iPod, I found in another discussion how to fix that. I'm using Windows 7, so I don't know if the steps are the same, but the end result is the same. So go into your Start menu, then into accessories, right click 'Command Prompt' and click 'Run as administrator'. Then type in the following: netsh winsock reset then press Enter. After a few seconds it should tell you to to restart your computer for changes to take effect. Restart your computer, then restart iTunes, then everything should be working fine. It still takes forever sometimes to update the iPod, but eventually it will work. I've had to do this multiple times, so I'd suggest copying & pasting this solution into a notepad or Word document and saving it on your computer, so you don't have to go through the discussions again to find it. This tends to happen to me nearly every day unfortunately Hope this fixes that problem, but I'm not having any of the other problems fortunately, except for removing the artwork of the songs it updates without me asking it too. PS I think my problem may be with iOS 5, because iTunes 10.5 came out before iOS 5, and I think everything was fine before I updated my iPod, but I really don't know where the problem lies

What's the proper protocol for a reset on my ipod touch 4g? iOS 6 has totally jacked it up and it will no longer do anything but crash, and won't sync with itunes wirelessly or by cable.
It's a 64G ipod touch and was fine till Apple told me to upgrade to ios 6. Now most of my apps crash, my music won't play and I just get a white screen when I hit Music.
When I try to sync to itunes it acts like it's going to sync and appears to recognize the ipod, but it's grayed out and has an update circle by it that spins for a while until itunes eventually freezes alltogether. After updating my iPod Touch 4G to iOS 6 from the device itself and then updating iTunes on my PC to 10.7, whenever I connect the iPod Touch, it gives an error saying "This iPod cannot be used because the required software is not installed. Run the iTunes installer to remove iTunes, then install the 64-bit version of iTunes."
My computer is running on a 64-bit OS, and the version of iTunes I installed is 64-bit. I have already tried the methods given by Apple to fix this (uninstalling iTunes and all other Apple software and reinstall iTunes, running Apple Mobile Support program, etc...). How can I get my iPod Touch to be recognized properly?
