ITunes 9.2, Mac OS 10.6.4, gray movie playback

I recently upgraded my iMac to OS 10.6.4 and iTunes 9.2. Since then, any purchased/downloaded/digital-copy movie or TV show asks me to authorize access and then plays a gray (sometimes black) background without audio. Any videos, movies or TV shows downloaded prior to upgrading play without issues. On a remote Mac Mini, shared via home sharing, running OS 10.6.4 but iTunes 9.1.1, I can play those same movies without problem. As a test, I upgraded the Mini to iTunes 9.2, and was not able to see the newly purchased videos/TV shows (same as on iMac, asked for credentials and played as gray background). I downgraded it back to iTunes 9.1.1 and I was then able to view everything again.
I've seen similar posts around this forum, and I'm highly surprised Apple hasn't done/said anything yet about this issue. I need 9.2 in order to manage my iOS 4 devices!

I have a lot of TV shows downloaded from the iTunes store, some new some old.
They always played without a problem until recently (iTunes 9.2.1??)
Now about 1/2 play and 1/2 give a gray screen without audio. No relation to date of purchase BUT all the TV seasons from A-L don't play and M-Z DO play.
An older macbook with iTunes 9.1 doesn't work on the files either.
Is iTunes at fault?
How can I get an older iTunes download again (Apple doesn't have it on their website.) to try it?

I just updated itunes on my mac and all of my icloud movies and tv shows are missing. Basically everything that wasn't on my computer isn't showing as available for download.

We are having this same issue. We have over 200 songs that are now missing and only our most recent ones show up in our ITunes library. Fortunately we have one phone that still has all of our music still in tact. This phone is no longer one I will be using as I upgraded to the Iphone 6, and only the most recent purchased songs remain. The rest are no where to be found and the iTunes store shows that I would need to re-purchase. Not sure what to do as when I tried to sync my last phone, all the songs were gone.

When you sync you need to go to the movies Tab in Itunes on your mac and then physically select the movie that you would like added.
Tick or select it and then press apply.
The Ipad should then finish syncing and then eject it
The movies will not be found in Itunes on the IPAD but in the Videos folder that is normally on the 1st page of icons on the ipad.
It may be worth looking in the videos folder 1st before going through the motions again

Turning your Mac into a clock radio.
1. In iTunes create a playlist that contains just the radio station you want to wake up to.
2. Export the playlist (as .m3u works well). Get Info on your playlist file and look at the Open With entry to make sure it points to iTunes, VLC or some other app that will stream your station.
3. In iCal create an event entry at the time you want to wake up.
4. Right (or Control) click on your wakeup event and select Get Info.
5. For "alarm" select Open File.
6. Now under Open File there will be a place to add the file to open. It will probably be some default entry (like iCal). Click on it will allow you to select "other." Then use the file dialog to select your playlist file.
Your Mac will wake you up at the appointed time. You don't need to keep iCal running. If you want to put you Mac to sleep for the night then there is one more thing you need to do. Open System Preferences to Energy Saver and click on the Schedule button. Check Start up or wake and set the wake up time to slightly before your iCal alarm time.

I bought a movie from itunes on my mac air and now I can't find it.

Songs start after beginning of song and end before the song is finished. these are the same songs that are on my IPodtouch and they play in their entirety there. So what's the problem with listening to them on Itunes on my Mac computer?

It sounds like you have a crossfade turned on. Check the Playback tab in iTunes Preferences to see if anything is selected that would give that kind of behavior.

I can see other discs such as music and stuff so I know I have installed it correctly but how come I can't see the blank disc that I need to burn?

You can't burn discs remotely, you can only read data discs remotely (i.e. you cannot play movie DVDs either).
Either copy the files to the remote computer or get an external drive.

I've already right-clicked on the application, clicked "get info", and changed it so all people listed in the "Sharing & Permissions" section have the "read & write" privilage.
The error message is referring to your iTunes library, not your iTunes application.
You need to check and fix the permissions of the iTunes folder in your iTunes library. This is by default located in your "Music" folder.
Select the folder Music > iTunes in the Finder, right click on it or Ctrl Click and click "Get Info". At the bottom of the contextual window thatwill pop up, disclose the Sharing and Permissions brick, change your status from Read only to Read & Write. You may need to click the padlock icon to make changes.
