ITunes 9.2 will not sync any IPod

Hi, Installed 10.6.2 update yesterday, "upgraded" to iTunes 9.2 earlier today, tried to sync my 5G iPod, 2nd gen 32gb Touch and Nano - all result in iTunes freezing - spinning ball - only option is to Force Quit. iTunes works fine on its own, plays music etc, but this appears to be a sync issue. Anyone any fixes yet - I don't think I'm the only one with this problem! Regards

I had the same problem where I was getting the pinwheel forever, and after reading recent threads about, I let it go for a few minutes and it finally started syncing.
Only posting this because I wanted to share something I noticed while this was going on: I was looking at the Activity Monitor to see how much CPU usage was going on while it was frozen (an issue I read about in other threads about the syncing problem). CPU usage wasn't bad, however out of curiosity I highlighted iTunes, clicked "Inspect", went over to "Open Files and Ports", and when I scrolled to the bottom, I noticed the last line of text there was a path name that kept changing, reflecting the fact that the program was going through my entire music library alphabetically.
So I guess with 9.2, the program decides to just freeze while it's comparing the two music libraries. As soon as it got through to the Z's/#'s, it no longer said "not responding", and everything was back to the normal sync process. Not sure if this will happen every time, but from other people's responses, I think it only does this freezing thing once.

  • Itunes 11.4 will not sync any music

Itunes 11.4 will not sync any music to iPad 2 mini or iPhone 3GS after upgrade. I have tried a full restore and hard resets on the iPhone. I have tried multiple combinations of checking and unchecking the boxed related to transfers and automatic syncing.
I hit the sync button and only for a brief second does it appear to attempt to sync and then nothing further happens. It seems to abort with no error message. Any assistance would be appreciated or thumbs up from those with similar problems after a recent upgrade.
    I am using OS 10.6.8.
    Thank you!

i'm in the same boat. setting up my iPhone 6 as a new device (as i've done numerous of times with my other iDevices). i've had zero luck on transferring my library and playlist over to my new iPhone 6. I do nothing different than what i've done before. I'm experiencing the same thing as the OP. It goes through the steps pretty quick and the storage capacity at the bottom shrinks a few GB's for my playlist i'm adding, then it reverts back to what it's currently at and does nothing, no errors.

  • ITunes v10.6 will not sync any music to my iPhone 4, no error messages

Recently, my iTunes for Windows (64-bit) has stopped syncing music or playlists to my iPhone 4 over USB or wi-fi. Syncing occurs for all other media (tv shows, movies, photos, etc.) but neither scenario of syncing specific playists of songs, playlists themselves, or entire music library will sync to the iPhone. All built-in iTunes diagnostic tests pass, and there are no error messages during the actual sync process.

Sorry to say, wiclee, I did try that solution numerous times to no resolution. However, I do have good news. I was able to solve my own problem. What I had to do was delete the iTunes Library.itl database file. For those not aware,
iTunes Library ("iTunes Library.itl" in Windows) is a database of the songs in your library and the playlists you've created. Some song-specific data is saved in this file. If you delete the file, iTunes creates a new, empty copy when you open the application, but any playlists, song ratings, comments, or other information you created will be lost. The iTunes Library file is only used by iTunes.
So, I closed iTunes, searched for and deleted the database file. Once I restarted iTunes, the database was recreated, and I could properly synchronize again. So, if anyone has the same problem that I did, now you have a solution.

  • ITunes 10.4.1 will not sync any of my devices

iTunes 10.4.1 will not  sync any of my devices:  iPhone; iPad; nano.  there is not a "devices" caption on the left column, etc.  HELP!  sincere thanks.

Syncs pictures and apps. I actually found one album that will sync. Others ... nada. Can't see any difference between those files and the others.
Reset sync history, saw that in another post, to no avail.
Strangely enough, songs will sync to iPod, but not complain.

  • My Ipod classic will not sync any of my music.

My Ipod classic will not sync any of my music, or show up in my itunes library. When it pops up on the computer it views it as a hard drive. I have restored it mutiple times and nothing works. Help please!

    Hello bardwell,
Try rebooting your computer to see if that makes a difference.  Otherwise, use the Get Info window for these games to determine where they should be located on your PC.  Then navigate out to that location to see if they are actually still there.

  • Had to restore ipod now it will not sync any of the apps that we have downloaded

Ipod was locked with password daughter forgot, had to restore ipod, now ipod will not sync any of the apps that we downloaded from itunes.  Anyone know why???

I suspect you have a 2G iPod. Those can only go to iOS 4.2.1
Many developers when they updated their apps to support iOS 5 and 6 dropped compatibility for iOS 4.2.1 and earlier.
Your only way is if you have the version that was compatible on your computer such as in the recycle bin/trash or in a computer file backup. In that case delete the current version that is in your iTunes App library and replace it with the older version. Then sync.

I purchased a video from iTunes but it will not sync to my iPod.  I get a message stating that the video "was not loaded to the iPod because iyt cannot be played on this iPod."  I tried to use the "create an iPod version" but the command is grayed out

I was refering to the "sample rate", normally 44.1 KHz, the iPod might not be able to play tracks with a non-standard rate. Otherwise I'm not sure what the issue might be.

  • TS1702 I recently purchased several apps that will not sync with iPod touch.  Of 5 apps, three won't sync.  Computer is authorized, I've reinstalled apps, nothing works. Any ideas?

I recently purchased several apps that will not sync with iPod touch.  Of 5 apps, three would not sync.  I updated all software, checked authorizations, and reinstalled the apps -- no luck.  Any ideas?

All the apps state they are compatible w/ my model iPod Touch.  No restrictions are set that would prevent syncing.  Seems like I might have had a similar problem a while back with one app but can't recall the solution -- it was something simple.

  • HT4061 good morning! I just did a software update on my phone (finally) last night and now my phone will not come on.  All it keeps showing is the charger pointing up to a blue circle with iTunes inside and will not go any further.  Can ANYone please expl

    Good Morning,
I just did a software update on my phone (finally) last night and now my phone will not come on.  It keeps showing the charger pointing up to a blue circle with iTunes inside and will not go any further.  Can ANYONE help me please???

The phone is in restore mode and the picture is telling you what to do. Connect the phone, by cable, to iTunes in the computer you normally use for syncing, and retore the phone.

  • HT1369 Brand new computer with Windows 8.1 will not sync with iPod Classic 120G.  Windows does not recognize anything but iPod Touch?  Is there a simple sloution?

Brand new computer with Windows 8.1 will not sync to iPod Classic 120G.  Windows does not recognize anything but iPod Touch?  Is there a simple solution.  Diagnostics have run and failed to point to a fix.

Might be worth tearing down the whole iTunes install and starting over...
Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (Later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
    Apple Mobile Device Support
    Bonjour
    Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
See also HT1925: Removing and Reinstalling iTunes for Windows XP or HT1923: Removing and reinstalling iTunes for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8
Should you get the error iTunes.exe - Entry Point Not Found after the above reinstall then copy QTMovieWin.dll from:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support
    and paste into:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes
The above paths would be for a 64-bit machine. Hopefully the same fix with the " (x86)" omitted would work on 32-bit systems with the same error.
