Itunes 9.2 won't launch on Mac OSX Leopard
Hi - recently my itunes 9.2 has decided not to launch. I get no error messages, it just crashes on me and the rest of the iMAC runs poorly for 10 minutes or so. It then catches up but sometimes it won't even shut down properly. Do I reinstall itunes? I don't want to lose my librbary.

you could try these user tips:
try removing the Genius database. In the "Finder" go to the /username/Music/iTunes/ folder and delete the "iTunes Library Genius.itdb" file. This may allow the program to launch again. This file will be recreated upon first use of the "Genius" feature.
and, if you have flip4mac installed
I found that the TSLicense plugin was causing the problem.
From the log:
PlugIn Path: /Library/Frameworks/TSLicense.framework/Versions/A/TSLicense
PlugIn Identifier: net.telestream.license
This pIugin is installed with the Flip4Mac Windows Media Components. I solved the problem by uninstalling the WM Components via the uninstaller at /Applications/Flip4Mac/Flip4Mac WMV Uninstaller.pkg, after which iTunes opens successfully.

try booting into _*safe mode*_, then rebooting normally.
Do I reinstall itunes?
you could try if reinstalling iTunes improves matters. click here and follow the instructions.
I don't want to lose my librbary.
doing so will not affect your media files, ratings, playcounts, etc.
that said, it is generally a good idea to back up your precious media files. see this for options: _*The Complete Guide to Backing Up your iTunes Library*_.

InDesign CS5 won't launch on Mac OS 10.8.3
Hi Peter:
I was using InDesign CS5 on my Mac Book Pro 17 and then purchased a new MacPro. I Transferred everything to my new laptop and every thing works except for InDesign and my Microsoft applications such as word, and Excell.
InDesign starts to launch and says "InDesign Quit Unexpectedly"
The first part of the code that comes up says as follows:

Itunes 10.5 won't launch using windows xp
Itunes 10.5 won't launch. I'm using Windows XP Pro. I've uninstalled and reinstalled and conifrmed I have vbscript running. Please advise...
If you have any parental control software either stand alone or installes as a module in your security software, then uninstall the parental control and reboot. It worked immediately for me after working on it for 2 days.

My iTunes is up to date on my mac OSX 10.4.11 - how do I get access to iCloud?
For iCloud, you need a version of iTunes 10, and 10.4.11 only supports up to 9.2.1. 10.4 offers no iCloud access, while 10.5 and 10.6 have limited access. Only 10.7 and 10.8 are integrated with iCloud.

JMC does not launch on mac osx
I downloaded jdk1.7.0_45.jdk on mac osx 10.7.5 so I could use JMC. It started up once, and I was able to connect to a vm, but after the first time, it just hangs once the splash screen launches. I tried to turn debug with the -debug flag, but don't see any output anywhere. Anyone have any suggestions?
I put a stack trace on SO: java - JMC does not launch on mac osx - Stack Overflow
thanks for any helpI think I've seen this as well. Will investigate.
Did you add the -consoleLog flag to get the output in the Terminal window?
You could try deleting your ~/.jmc folder and see if that makes any difference. -
MBP running Mac OSX Leopard 10.5.8 cannot get past login screen even in safe boot
Help! I have a Macbook Pro purchased in 2009, running Mac OSX Leopard 10.5.8 which froze while running Adobe Illustrator. On reboot, it won't allow me to go past the login screen. I tried starting up from the disc, running disk verification and repair and repairing disk permissions, and trying to start up in safe boot, all to no avail. When the login screen comes up it gives the name of my hard drive with a (2) after it, which seems strange. Any suggestions short of reinstalling the system software? I don't want to lose my applications/data!

My 1 year old MBP running OSX has got more sluggish. The little multicolored spinning timer wheel keeps appearing a lot more now, and I hate it! My MBP takes drastically longer to boot when i turn it on as opposed to when I just got it. My web pages take a long time to load. Can anyone help me? WHat can I do to speed up my MBP. I am a novice mac user. Again my mac is getting slower by the day and i dont know how to increase its overall performance. Is there any simple software that can boost overall performance or will I have to reformat my MBP? I have a 200gb HD with 50 gb free and 4 gb of ram.
Welcome to Apple's discussion groups.
Launch the Activity Monitor utility. Pull down the list near the top and set it to "All Processes". Click on the "CPU" column heading to put the highest CPU consumers at the top. Also click on the "CPU" tab in the lower part of the window to check the value for "% Idle". If that value is much above zero, check the other categories for signs of resource problems. If nothing there points to a possible problem, launch the Console utility and look for messages that might suggest a problem. If you see messages that you have trouble interpreting, post them here and someone should be able to help. -
Adobe Reader 9 Silent Install Mac OSX Leopard

Has anyone seen this problem before? When I run the install manualy so by clicking on in the finder the install just runs fine.
Many thanks in advance!

Looks like I've got the same issue, only with Flash Player 9 Silent installer on Mac OSX Leopard. Did you find a workaround?

Dreamweaver CS3 and Mac OSX Leopard 10.5
I did an Erase and Install of Mac OSX Leopard 10.5... so it's
a clean install.
I installed the Adobe Web Premium software (full, not
upgrade).
Dreamweaver has been CRASH city. Try to merge some tables...
crash. Try to copy past a graphic from one page to another...
crash. Try to connect to a MySQL database.... crash. Trying to work
on a website I must have had 10 crashes in the last hour.
Is there an upgrade needed to CS3 to work correctly on
Leopard?David thanks so very much!!!
After hours of looking for a solution i went into the
following folders
Mac HD/Users/[user]/Library/Application
Support/Adobe/Dreamweaver 9/Configuration
Mac HD/Users/[user]/Library/Application
Support/Adobe/Dreamweaver 9/configuration-1
removed the files as you said above
MacFileCache[random_numbers].dat
and hey presto, restarted Dreamweaver and it loaded, but for
one time only, then the problem started again where it would tell
me there is an ftp error and cannot connect to the remote host,
then when i clicked ok, it would tell me there as an eror trying to
load an empty document.
My problems started after upgrading leopard MacOSX 10.5.
However, it seems that this problem is persistant everytime i
restart Dreamweaver, do you know how i can permanantly solve this
and why its being caused?
Thanks

Are there compatibility issues with Mac OSX Leopard V. 10.5 and Word 2004 11.6.3 when installed on a PowerMac G5? I understand the Leopard upgrade is okay on the later Intel Mac, but what about my G5 PowerPC Mac?

My daughter was wondering if she could download Mac OSX Leopard on her HP Laptop that i bought her this christmas. So I was wondering if someone could answer this question.
She honestly only wants it for Photobooth, iChat and Garageband...
She's a musician...
By the way do anyone know of a program similar to either of these?
That's three probrams, not 2 and Photobooth and Garageband come with a new Mac, not with Leopard.
Tell her to buy a new MacBook then she will have all of that and more and will still be able to use all her Windows programs. -
How do i install Mac OSX Leopard on other drive
how do i install Mac OSX Leopard on a drive other than my Snow Leopard computer? I need to access old files that will not open with new OS.
Simple. When you get the prompt to install Snow Leopard on your existing computer you will see a button that says "change destination disk..." or words to that effect.
You can select any mounted volume. If that volume already has a later version of OS X installed, you will need to erase it first using Disk Utility. -

done this.... anyone?

Program won't launch on Mac for one user but will for another
We just installed a new program (that is Java based) that we are about to start using in our office. It is the WorkFlows client from SirsiDynix. It works fine on my MAC but 2 other users in our office have MACs and it won't launch. We have tried uninstalling and reinstalling with no luck. We created another user on one of the computers and installed the program and it launches fine. Both users are Administrators. We have uninstalled and reinstalled the program but still no luck. We have ran the Repair Permissions utility on the HD. Is there a tool or software that we can use to compare permissions or settings of the 2 users to find out why the program won't run under one of them?
We have Mac Mini OS X version 10.9.5
Thanks for any help you can give.
