Itunes 9 and itunes 10 on one computer

I have two accounts on my computer, one for me and one for my wife. I use itunes 9 (for my music and ipod) and she needs to use itunes 10 for her ipod (nano g6) and music, our tastes are vastly different. Can I install itunes 10 on her account with out causing problems with my account.

Software installations such as iTunes apply across all user accounts. The library and preferences are the only things which are account-specific.

Recently, I sent all of the files that I had in iTunes through my wireless network to my upstairs computer. Then I deleted the files that I had downstairs. I didnt realize that it didnt send my filesharing files, like my Ares music. So I just re-downloaded the songs that I did not get from the file sending, into my current iTunes. When I tried to sync my iPod this morning with my new computer, it would say that it was updating on the iPod and iTunes, but nothing would happen. Copy the iTunes folder (Mac: Home\Music or PC: My Music) to the same location on the new computer. If an iTunes folder already exists on the new computer (it will on a Mac) replace it with one you copied.

It sounds as though you are experiencing an issue with an Apple ID and authorizations. Based on your post, it sounds like you are familiar with the authorizing and deauthorizing process. The Apple ID in question (your wife's email) may be originating from the iPhone you are attempting to update. Is it possible that your wife created an Apple ID or iCloud account which is signed in on that iPhone? I want to download songs by using iTunes. Now, my iTunes account is in one computer and when I connect my iPhone 5s to a different computer that is much better to work on, it tells me that my iPhone is connected to to iTunes in a different computer and that is why it will not work.
I would like to have your help- how can I transfer my iTunes account of my iPhone 5s to a different computer so that I will be able to download songs and to use my iTunes account properly.

Like most applications you only need to install it once for it to be available to all users. (That said it is possible to install an application and only make it available to the current user, but that's rarely needed.)

My iPad2 works great now after IOS 8.1 Update
I did my iPad2 update thru iTunes on my iMac and it was sucking the iMacs memory very low during the update. Safari froze before loading the first web page and I did a hard boot and went fishing as I saw where it was going to take a long time to recover. When I tried again it wasn't quite right and then did one more hard boot and then did a Reset by going to General-Reset-"Reset all Settings" and it works real well now without loosing any data and in-home wi-fi clocks at 17Mbps download. Probably like most of you I’m sticking with OSX 10.9.5 Mavericks as it gets the job done very nicely and don’t need all that extra fancy stuff that probably will slow things down.

Is it disabled due to too many incorrect passcode attempts ? If it is then you may need to put the iPad into recovery mode : http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1808 - you should then be able to reset the iPad and restore/resync your content to it.

Welcome to the Apple Community.
iTunes and iCloud are different accounts. You can both use the same ID for the store login and share your music etc., and use different ID's to log in to iCloud, thereby keeping your calendars etc separate.

Try downloading the songs from a different device. If you are doing it from your iOS device, try form your computer.

Simply restore the device via iTunes on the computer.
If iTunes is stating it will take hours to update, that indicates an extremely slow Internet connection and is likely the reason the OTA update failed.
