ITunes 9 background color

Hey... i recall iTunes 8 having a dark grey / black background... which was very pleasing to the eye.
now iTunes 9 is all white, and it's straining let alone very 'boring'...
why the change? the contrast was so much more easy on the eyes.
Is there a way to change it back?
APPLE, please give us the option to change background colors like IPHOTO!!

I love the brilliant white background on Itunes 9. It really lights up my 1000sq. ft. living room. Of course, I also love frying my retinas by staring into the sun for 15 minutes at a time. To the Apple developer(s) who thought this was a good idea, please pass whatever it is your smoking. Also a bad call to remove the slider to adjust the icon size in grid view. Yes, there are hacks and even a 175MB program out there you can use to get the gray background back. But with all the money I've spent on apps, songs, and movies that reside in my library, I'm not comfortable having to hack iTunes to get back some things that should have never been removed to begin with. Come on Apple, please get a developer to respond to this thread (and while your here, tell me why a dam iPod Nano can now do video, but you guys couldn't offer us iPhone 3G users a software update to do video! oops, wrong forum. My bad).

  • Itunes background color

No matter what I do, I cannot change the itunes background color from black, and I just hate it.  Yes, I've changed the "grid" view to light, and to dark, and nothing changes on my iMac.  Can this be changed somehow?  I find it unreadable and it causes me headaches.  Is there no way to change this?????

Thanks! Seems to have worked out fine. What I don't understand though is why did it suddenly change colors? It was fine until I downloaded and installed the latest update to iTunes. The bit change seems to have fixed, thanks again.

  • ITunes background color change

Just after I installed the latest update for iTunes, the next time I opened it, the background color is this funky lavender/pinkish color. If I shrink the window the visible portion of the window returns white until I scroll the page. Then when the non visible portion appears, its that same weird color. Also, the major headings on the left side of the playerhave changed appearance as well, almost as if they are superscripted font. Anybody else have this problem and a possible solution?
    Thanks

  • How can I change the background color of my podcast's iTunes page?

My RSS feed just got accepted but now I need to customize the title, author, background color, and logo of my site. Does anyone know how to do this? Thank you!

You can't change the background colour - it's white for audio and black for video. The other data can be changed by changing the appropriate tag in the feed, or if you're using a program or online service to make your podcast,. wherever they provide for entering this information.
The title is carried in the 'title' tag; the author in the 'itunes:author' tag, and the 'podcast image' which appears on the Store page in the 'itunes: image' tag. Republish the feed after making the amendments: it will take a couple of days for the new data to appear, though the image may take several days.
The image which appears in some podcasts in the bottom left-hand corner of iTunes when subscribing is not referenced in the feed but has to be actually embedded into the media file: please see this page:

  • ITunes 11 Changing Background Color

O.K. got the shiny new itunes 11 but want to keep my old background color.  I prefer the darker background instead of the sterile white look.
I remember a long time ago I was able to change it in the older itunes but forgot where or if its even possible to do this now.
Also if anybody has figured out a way to change the font on it would be nice, I really do not like the current font.
    Thanks

Unfortunately you can have the dark backgrounds but it breaks iTunes. There are many areas that will keep the black text so it will be black text on a black background.

Hate to say it guys but I have a black background and am trying to get back to whit but there is no option to do so as far as I can see.  I already had my libary in the dark mode before downloading the update from the App Store.  Looks great for albums and books but the tire info in movies is such a dark grey you can't actually read it, have to put it into list view to see everything properly.
I had this same problem. The fix is simple. Go into terminal and paste the line below and hit enter. (with iTunes closed). Should be all set after that.

  • ITunes 9 grid view background color?

It seems iTunes 9 has changed the background color of grid view from black to white. How can I change it back? I can't find anything in preferences or the iTunes help manual. Thank you for the help

*Thank you Apple* for bringing the *Dark Grid View Background* back!
I'm all for change if it improves things. But I'm not sure the latest iTunes look change is all for the better.
The dark Grid View background was just one thing.
The new iTunes store look doesn't do it for me either. It's just a sea of icons on white background. Everything drowns in a blur of color specks...

If you search for "osx change finder window color" you will find a method (mentioned in the linked topic but not detailed) for doing this in Panther, but it may not work in Tiger. It also requires some pretty basic surgery on the OS files which is inadvisable unless you really don't care if you hose your system. Then there's Shapeshifter mentioned in the link. Again, these kind of things are trying to play with the OS at a basic level and are generally ill advised unless you really don't mind experimenting with your computer and don't care if you have to reinstall all your OS and files at some stage. They can cause unpredictable behavior with upgrades and I would not use them without regular backups.

    Hi
If you are using snow leopard (sorry my old macbook is os 9), then do not change anything if you are designing for the web only, as the pc (94% of internet user), used the same gamma setting (if you are doing graphic design, then all I can say is beware, and this is why I still have my old macbook). Many people are at present having this problem with the new mac os, as the system is set to one setting, but the color profile is set to another.
This article may be worth reading with regards to the problem - http://blogs.adobe.com/jnack/2009/09/why_your_web_content_will_look_darker.html.

  • How to give Common Background color for all JPanels in My Swing application

    Hi All,
I am developing a swing application using The Swing Application Framework(SAF)(JSR 296). I this application i have multiple JPanel's embedded in a JTabbedPane. In this way i have three JTabbedPane embedded in a JFrame.
Now is there any way to set a common background color for the all the JPanel's available in the application??
I have tried using UIManager.put("Panel.background",new Color.PINK);. But it did not work.
Also let me know if SAF has some inbuilt method or way to do this.
    Your inputs are valuable.
    Thanks in Advance,
    Nishanth.C

It is not the fault of NetBeans' GUI builder, JPanels are opaque by default, I mean whether you use Netbeans or not.Thank you!
I stand corrected (which is short for +"I jumped red-eyed on my feet and rushed to create an SSCCE to demonstrate that JPanels are... mmm... oh well, they are opaque by default... ;-[]"+)
NetBeans's definitely innocent then, and indeed using it would be an advantage (ctrl-click all JPanels in a form and edit the common opaque property to false) over manually coding
To handle this it would be better idea to make a subclass of JPanel and override isOpaque() to return false. Then use this 'Trasparent Panel' for all the panels where ever transparency is required.I beg to differ. From a design standpoint, I'd find it terrible (in the pejorative sense of the word) to design a subclass to inconsistently override a getter whereas the standard API already exposes the property (both get and set) for what it's meant: specify whether the panel is opaque.
Leveraging this subclass would mean changing all lines where a would-be-transparent JPanel is currently instantiated, and instantiate the subclass instead.
If you're editing all such lines anyway, you might as well change the explicit new JPanel() for a call to a factory method createTransparentJPanel(); this latter could, at the programmer's discretion, implement transparency whichever way makes the programmer's life easier (subclass if he pleases, although that makes me shudder, or simply call thePanel.setOpaque(false) before returning the panel). That way the "transparency" code is centralized in a single easy to maintain location.
I had to read the code for that latter's UI classes to find out the keys to use (+Panel.background+, Label.foreground, etc.), as I happened to not find this info in an authoritative document - I see that you seem to know thoses keys, may I ask you where you got them from?
One of best utilities I got from this forum, written by camickr makes getting these keys and their values very easy. You can get it from his blog [(->link)|http://tips4java.wordpress.com/2008/10/09/uimanager-defaults/]
Definitely. I bit a pair of knucles off when discovered it monthes after cumbersomely traversing the BasicL&F code...
Still, it is a matter-of-fact approach (and this time I don't mean that to sound pejorative), that works if you can test the result for a given JDK version and L&F, but doesn't guarantee that these keys are there to stand - an observation, but not a specification.
Thanks TBM for highlighting this blog entry, that's the best keys list device I have found so far, but the questions still holds as to what specifies the keys.

  • Can I change the background color of a video thumbnail to view a silhouettes transparancy in Bridge

I see this question asked a ton on here, and never EVER am I finding an answer.  I know in the past (Adobe CS 5) in Bridge you could view the transparency of a black silhouette image against a medium grey so you could see the content of the clip.  Adobe changed that with CS 5.5 & on, and never seems to want to answer question when we members ask.  PLEASE ADOBE ANSWER!!
How can I view a black silhouette image in Bridge when Adobe had decided to make the transparency black instead of grey? (Ideally the transparency of a video file should show as a grid as it does in ALL OTHER Adobe products.
PLEASE HELP.  We use bridge heavily in production to organize our assets, and this change not being addressed kills our asset searching time because we have to open each clip to view it, rather than being able to preview it, which is what the Bridge is for.
    Thanks.
P.S.  Do not tell me how to change the programs background color as this is not the question.  The question is how do I change the color of the transparency display for video clips.

    Hi Peter
The associated FCM file provides us a clue as to Captivate's
pedigree. What we know today as Captivate is a product that was
born into the world and dubbed "FlashCam". This file contains
information about margins. So FCM means, FlashCam Margins.
If all you are doing is adjusting the colors a bit, you may
copy the associated files to new names. Then modify the colors as
desired and all should be well.
    Cheers... Rick
