ITunes 9 forgetting apple TV photos tab prefs

I like itunes 9 new options for photos syncing. I choose some faces and choose to remember selected events from the last 6 months. Great.
After itunes restart, go into apple tv photos tab, the faces are still selected, but not the events. Always reverts back to the "no events" choice.
Need an itunes update, or faulty .plist file?
Anyone else experiencing this?

have you seen the post just underneath the one you posted ?

  • Apple TV Photo tab in iTunes doesn't see all my photos

I am using Aperture 3.0.2 to manage my photos. I am trying to sync certain projects with my Apple TV via iTunes. I select Aperture on the Photos tab (Apple TV), and they check the project. For some reason, some projects show as having zero photos, although I know there are loads as I can view them in Aperture.
Anyone else experiencing this? I am having to export photos to a folder and sync that, which is a pain.
    Regards
    Gary

I have the exact same issue and I have tried everything....
It really *****. It must be a config or similar issue, as there's not many postings on this....anyone with a cure? Let me know!

  • 8.1 problem in Apple TV photo tab

After upgrading to 8.1 the Photo window under the Apple TV tab only displays the top half of the window. Has anyone else had this problem and more importantly how do I fix this?

I have the same problem with the Photo tab and scroll bar issue. Same 8.1 install and running Vista. Any support here from Apple or is this just another Apple problem an users will need to revert back to an older version? This Itunes software is becoming a big issue.....and now too much money invested in IPOD TOUCH and APPLETV....wishing I would not have made this move over to Apple!!

  • Itunes installed and no photo tab

i have i tunes installed, but there is no "photos" tab. I wanted to manually select photos and put them on my itouch, but alas there is no photos tab

    Welcome to AD!
That photo tab only shows up when the ipod touch is connected. Click on your device name in the left panel to see this.

  • Itunes Newest Version no Photo Tabs

So I downloaded the latest version of Itunes and I tried to sync my photos to my ipod and the tab for Photos isn't even there.  I look in preferences for the sources and it wasnt even in there. I can not find the option to add photos or sync or anything related to photos in the newest version of itunes as the picutre below shows.

Go to full screen.  it is there but if you have the window less than max it disappears.

  • ITunes forgets its iPod photo settings

I don't use iPhoto much and want to sync my iPod with selected items from my Pictures folder. So I select Pictures folder in the relevant tab of the iPod pane. However, next time I launch iTunes and connect the iPod, lo and behold it's reverted to iPhoto and immediately starts uploading the odds and ends I have in iPhoto instead of the library of photos I have selected. This is most un-Mac-like and annoying.

    Solution: Archive and Install
Last night I posted a note describing the problems I encountered as a result of iTunes 7.0.2 essentially wiping out my iPods, then failing to restore them properly. I recovered the iPods using a second computer, but while the iMac could see them, it refused to move any of the protected AAC files onto the iPod.
The solution was that troubleshooting good for what ails you cure, Archive and Install with preserve users on.
First, I disconnected all the iPods.
Then I used the original install DVD to perform archive and install. I turned off a bunch of stuff I didn't need, focusing on the core OS files.
On reboot, I ran the 10.4.8 Combo update which I had downloaded earlier.
On the next reboot, Software Update installed Java, QuickTime, and X11 updates.
On the next reboot, I launched iTunes. Everything appeared to work normally. The authorizations were intact.
I installed the Shuffle, which was recognized at once. I used Erase and Sync to pair it with the iMac. I repeated the same process with the iPod Photo.
My guess about the original problem is that iTunes 7 exposed a longstanding problem which was caused when I used Migration Assistant to move the contents of my previous G5 iMac to Intel.
Alls well that ends well. I'm posting this note in the hope that it will help someone else in the same situation.

  • ITunes 8.2.1 update bug (-50) and changes to iTunes Photo tab

Many thanks in advance for your attention.
    1. Since I updated to iTunes 8.2.1, have had the following bug whenever I try to sync my iPod Touch (2G). "The iPod " " cannot be synced - An unknown error occurred (-50)." pops up.
    2. I have a file in iPhoto of just photos for my iPod (instead of the entire - huge - iPhoto Library.) Under iTunes, looking under the Photos Tab, this choice was "selected albums" - which allowed you to pick just one album from one's iPhoto Library to be synced. But this choice, the button, is now greyed out. It is there, but one can no longer select it.
    3. ?
    4. On top of that, the default - Sync All Photos from iPhoto is now selected. (I think this is the cause for the -50 error). I never intended to have my whole iPhoto library automatically imported by my iPod.
    4. As others have done here, I turned off "Sync Photos" from iPhoto.
    5. Then when I try to sync, no problem, no hitches. No Error prompts. Great.
    6. But - this way, I am forever stuck with the photos that are in my iPod now. Adding new photos seems impossible, as the sync Selected Albums button is greyed out.
    7. Have I overlooked something? From other posts, it seems this is a bug that is widespread.

same exact problem just happened within the last few weeks (something to do with snow leopard update??)..i had other wise been happily syncing a second generation touch with version 3.0

  • Where is the photo tab in itunes 11

updated to new itunes 11 but the photo tab (which is usually on the top with summary, videos etc) is missing. how do i transfer photos form windows back to iphone?

I am having problems with this too. I have tried changing my screen resolution, and I can't find a way to resize the window. Grabbing the bottom, right corner of the screen didn't work either. I have read about 5 forums on this and can't seem to figure it out. Seems like a common problem. How else have you all suceeded in finding this tab?

  • Upgraded to photos now itunes won't open photo library.

Had to restore photo library from Time Machine backup due to kids deleting it. Restored OK, opened Photos app and migrated library, works fine in photos app.
However in iTunes under the sync photos tab with iPhone, photo library is greyed out and I cannot select it.
    Any ideas?

    Hello, bas.harbers.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
I understand that iTunes will not allow you to select and library to sync with after upgrading to Photos.  It sounds like you may just need to set Photos as the system library preference.  Here is the article that will walk you through this process.
Designate a System Photo Library in Photos

  • Missing Photos Tab

Any suggestions for how to fix the fact that my iphone does not show a photos tab in itunes?
As a matter of fact, it looks like itunes is just cut off within its frame. The summary tab vertically ends midway through the check for update button.
I am on a macbook and am running the latest mac os 10.6.1, itunes 9.02 and iphone software 3.1.2. iphone is 16GB 3gs model.
I had this same problem in itunes 9.01. Already tried deleting itunes and re-installing it. still no photos tab.
iphoto does open up and display the photos on my phone but that is the only action I get.

I had this problem on my Dell with Vista. After spending 5 1/2 hours, talking with Apple reps, googling for answers, uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes, and installing other photo programs, I came up with a simple idea that actually fixed the problem. It should have been my first fix rather than one that came to me 5 1/2 hours later. Always looking for a difficult answer when many times it is simple.
For those who are having this problem, go to "Controls" on your PC, find where to adjust screen resolution and slide the resolution bar gradually increasing resolution and amount of info that will appear on your computer screen. Before accepting, take a look at your iTunes page. The photo tab should appear in the extreme right hand corner. If not, keep adjusting until it does.

  • Apple Tv Photo Syncing

Have a situation where the photo count showing in the photo tab pane of iTunes (with Apple TV selected) is not the same number as when viewed inside iPhoto with photo counts turned on.
This is effecting sync to the Apple TV whereby only the ones showing up in iTunes are ones that ultimately get synced to the Apple TV so it's not just a visual issue as reported on some posts. In this case, when selecting all photos, the Apple TV has access to about 500 of the actual 2,200 photos in the library.
I have done obvious things like software updating, clearing cache and rebuilding the iPhoto library. It's not the Apple TV as I have completely reset it and when linked to my laptop, all photo counts are exact when linked to my machine.
I suspect either the internal iPhoto library data is corrupt or perhaps there is something in the title data that's throwing off iTunes when trying to read the library. Has anyone encountered any naming convention issues when naming titles in iPhoto?
It appears I am heading for a manual rebuild of this person's iPhoto library which of course I would like to avoid like swine flu....

Turns out the iPhoto library is hosed.
However, coming to that conclusion made me take a long and winding path.
Let me explain. I was all "fixated" on the photo counts being off between the iPhoto application and the iTunes applications inside the 'Photo" tab when syncing photos to an Apple TV. From what I can tell, these counts are not counting the same thing. Where is "Count" on Sesame Street when you need him or shall I say, the apple programmer that codes the counting in iPhoto does not talk to the apple programmer that codes the counting in iTunes for syncing.
The count in iPhoto clearly reflects the number of thumbnails while the count in iTunes counts the originals. So of course I am dealing with an iPhoto library that is missing a bunch of originals but the count in iPhoto tells me all is good.
Just an FYI for anyone else who might encounter this same situation and hopefully avoid my trail in the woods without a compass.
Now it's off to figuring out how to reconstruct this library...

  • Apple-TV photo sync loop

    Hi
It seems like appletv sync my 3000 photos every time i start my pc, I guess they should only be copied thier once or?
It seems to take for ever, and be a waste of effort, since they were already synced at least 30 times.
    Any idea?

I am trying to add some photos to my ipod touch in itunes. When my ipod appears under devices, I expand it but there is no photos tabe, just music, films etc. Any ideas?!

Yo need to select the iPod in iTunes then select the Photos tab across the top, not the folders on the left side of iTunes.

I am also providing you with a screenshot of what appears! I need photos on my iPad2

You don't see it on the left-hand side of iTunes - you need to connect and select the iPad on the left-hand side, and then one of the tabs on the right-hand side that you use to select which content to sync to the iPad should be Photos : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4236
You will need to select and sync all the photos that you want on the iPad together in one go as only the most recent sync remains on the iPad, not including photos in a subsequent sync is how you delete them from it.

  • My iPad won't sync photos with iTunes & the photos tab has gone on itunes

I'm using an iMac with itunes version 11.1.5 and I have been trying to sync my iPad to add photos but it keeps failing. However i have noticed that there doesnt seem to be a "photos" tab any longer on iTunes has this option been removed??
    Many thanks

You can never totally remove anything that you have purchased from iTunes, the App Store, or iBooks. Your purchases will always be tied to your Apple ID. You can hide those songs by going to Settings>iTunes and App Store>Show all>Music>Off. You can do the same for videos.
But bear in mind, all that you are doing is hiding the purchases and they will not be downloaded to your device unless you go back to that settings, show the songs again and then tap the cloud to download them to the iPad.
