ITunes 9 hangs at the Store

I can access the Store fine, no problem, and also search for music.
But if I click 'Show all' for all tracks by an artist, wait for them to be displayed, then click on the top bar to sort the list by Name, I just get the beachball and I have to force quit. This happens whatever I try to do on the top bar, even just a ctrl-click. This never happened in previous versions. What's going on? Does it do this in iTunes 10 also?

Yes, I am also experiencing an iTunes hang when accessing the store.
I have also noticed other random hangs. I have my library on a Time Capsule and I'm connecting to it via 802.11n WiFi. on itunes 8, I had no problems with this configuration.
I have also tried to erase my preference PLISTs and re-initialise iTunes, but now it just hangs on the first setup assistant page when I click "Next."

every time I repair my iPod with iTunes, it hangs at the end of the process (while checkin the recovery of iPod). What can I do?

I chose to restore it to factory defaults, but that never succeeded.
It hangs at the end of the process.

    Language is Dutch :-)
    Littery it says:
    Check of Recovery of iPod.
    Already for 40 minutes.
    I closed down iTunes.
Now, when I turn on my iPod, there is the icon of iTunes with an usb cable towards it.
When I attach it to my computer and turn on iTunes, the message is there that a iPod was stuck in recovery mode and I should retry it.
And then I get the same story. Unpacking, installing, checking... blocked!

No, they can only be used in the iTunes store, app store, ibookstore and the Mac App Store - they can't be used in Apple stores (inlcuding the online Apple stores).

  • What will happen to my purchased movies/TV shows if iTunes removed them from the store?

I'm honestly sorry to bother you. I tried to google this and cloudn't find a good answer.
What will happen to my purchased movies/TV shows (that I haven't downloaded on my devices) if iTunes removed them from the store? Will I still be able to watch/download them from iCloud?
I'm trying to buy all my favourite movies and TV shows without downloading them, to keep them in iCloud that I can access from all my devices whenever I want, but I'm scared that iTunes will remove them from my iCloud if something happens to the contract between them and the production company. Should I worry about that?
Thank you for taking the time to read this. I appreciate it.
    Best,
    Faisal

Thank you for taking the time to explain this.
But the thing is, I don't want to download ANYTHING because I don't have storage. That's why I want to buy them and watch them through iCloud (on my Mac iTunes) without downloading.
I know that it's safer to download them. But does "safer" mean that iTunes might not let me access my purchases through iCloud?

With those symptoms, I'd try the following document:
Apple software on Windows: May see performance issues and blank iTunes Store
(If there's a SpeedBit LSP showing up in Autoruns, it's usually best to just uninstall your SpeedBit Video Accelerator.)

  • Itunes wont connect to the store using proxy

Ok so here is whats happening, we have a proxy server that requires authentication for the users to access the internet. this is done through an auto configuration script, after doing a diagnostic and seeing itunes said it wasnt using a proxy i assumed that was the problem and put in the proxy info manually and made sure internet worked as it was supposed to still (it did) however this didnt fix itunes but it now listed that it was using a proxy in the diagnostics.
previously when you opened itunes it would pop up the window asking for authentication however now using version 10.1 it no longer does this and just errors out saying it cannot connect to the store.
being that i am the admin here i can allow internet access without a proxy on a per IP case, when doing this the itunes store connects just fine if you disable the proxy settings, however the computer this needs to work on also needs the proxy authentication
so basically, does anyone know how to get itunes to actually use a proxy that requires authentication?

    Hello,
I think I found the solution, at last a solution that worked for me.
I had to set an option in the Internet Explorer (works in Versions 7 amd 8). I'm not sure about the correct translation, because I use the german languange Version of Internet Explorer, but ist should read something like this: "Use HTTP 1.1 for Proxyconnections" in the Advanced/Settings for HTTP 1.1-Section of Internet Explorer Settings.
Works well for us on 2 Machines and the behavior can be reproduced by checking/unchecking the option.
    Hope that helps, kind regards,
    Alex.

HELP.. I am not tech genius.. I was just wanting to sign up from Imatch.. and I sign into Itunes and it wont connect to the store.. I reinstalled.. I did diagnostic.. you name it.. still not store.. it just sits there..

There are at least 20 threads pertaining to this problem (some from last year, one I saw was from 2006). I suggest anyone who visits this thread redirect to https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3223139?start=0&tstart=0. It has the two most popular solutions and anyone with ongoing issues can discuss and/or form an unruly mob there.

  • ITunes 8.1 killed the store

Ever since upgrading to 8.1, I can no longer connect to the store. When I click on the iTunes store in the side bar, I get the "accessing iTunes store" progress bar then it fails with an unknown error (504) message. However, I can log in, authorize/deauthorize my computer and play purchased music so it is communicating at least at some level.
I have tried various options outlined in other posts to include repairing the key chain (no errors), deleting then reinstalling 8.1, trashing iTunes pref files and starting over, as well as the usual repair permissions, run maintenance scripts, rebooting, prayng, etc. iTunes works fine in every other way. There have been no other changes to my system or network.
Any other suggestions? I would like to be able to go shopping at the store again--soon!

I ran into the same library issue as well--8.1 libraries don't work with older versions. So....I created a new user (no iTunes library), deleted iTunes 8.1 and installed 8.0.2 and fired it up under the new user (which creates a compatible library, pref files, etc). It didn't work and I got the same errors. iTunes 8.0.2 used to work just fine. So...if it is a computer problem, how does Apple explain this? I think Apple is just covering their butts with a bunch of BS.
I've tried everything I can think of and recommended on the discussion boards and nothing works when I use the home ISP (Hughes) with any 8.x version of iTunes. Hughes swears that all ports are open and nothing has changed. It isn't the computer. It isn't the ISP. Hmmm...who could be responsible for this? Sorry Apple, but we will be shopping ELSEWHERE.
