ITunes 9 Problems (Cannot Save Library, Cannot Download Apps...)

Hello,
Today I Just installed iTunes 9 for Windows, and now i am having numerous problems.
First off - when I try to download apps from the app store, i usually get this problem: there was a problem downloading "App Name." An unknown error has occured (-1303).
Second - I just about always get the error "iTunes

hey well, i spent a while trying to figure this out while i had free time and i think i may have figured a few problems out.
1. What you need to do is download the itunes 9 software.
2. run it as administrator
3. use the repair/reinstall option
4. then do not run it. restart,
5. then while u click on the itunes 9 shortcut, HOLD DOWN SHIFT!
6.then choose your itunes library, then let it load. DONT TOUCH THE COMPUTER FOR ABOUT 5-10 WHILE IT LOADS, EVEN IF THERE ARE ERRORS OR IT LOOKS COMPLETELY DONE.
7. redo steps 1-6. but not "DONT TOUCH THE COMPUTER FOR ABOUT 5-10 WHILE IT LOADS, EVEN IF THERE ARE ERRORS OR IT LOOKS COMPLETELY DONE."

Same issue here. Running Windows Vista Home Premium Edition and newest version of iTunes. Normally happens when I am ripping a CD into iTunes and by chance multi task or the screen saver kicks in.
What ***** is if you walk away while ripping a CD(because it takes 3 times as long in iTunes vs any other ripper), and it will halt your ripping until you click "ok". I have not tried the "dont tell me again" check box just in case it is a problem I need to know about. This happened about 2 or 3 days after upgrading to Vista and I got an empty library the next time I opened the library. Somehow it got corrupted. Luckily I back up the xml file and just restored that one file from last back up.
(off subject but also getting the maxed our processor still in the newest version for Windows Vista. Wish they would fix that!)

Error message (-48) cannot save library

I have the library saved on a network drive and it was working fine until I just started getting the error message "cannot save library error (-48). But the library is still there and it appears that new songs/pods are being saved. Any idea what this error message is? Thanks

WHen are you seeing this error, when you try to close itunes?
Can you rename that file? Because if you can't, the operating system is confused and thinks something has a lock on it. Restarting your PC should clear that situation.

Access Privileges error, cannot save library

I have had my iPod for 4+ years but after upgrading software about a year ago, I repeatedly get the error "Cannot save Library. You do not have enough access privileges." I have followed recommendations in previous threads to unmark the read-only button but to no avail. Very frustrating. Please help before I switch to a Zune.

I would be concerned too if the speaker on my iPhone was not working. I found an article with some steps to take when you are experiencing issues like this.
I recommend reviewing the full article, but step 2 specifically stood out to me for the issue you are experiencing:

Error -50 : unknown error - cannot save library

Hello everybody,
I recently changed from windows 7 pc to windows 8 pc and I have installed the most recent version of iTunes (11.0.4.4). However, when ever I start up iTunes I get an error message that iTunes can't save library; unknow error -50. I googled on the internet for solutions. The most solutions were from years ago and not specific for windows 7. So until know nothing solved my problem. I cant imagine that I am the only one having this problem. Therefore I kinda was hoping that one of you fellow iTunes enthousiatic users has or had the same problem and can help me solving it.
Before you all redirect me to another similar threat on this forum; I have seen it and I have readt it. And I tried the suggestions. And they didn't work. And I noticed that all the answers and suggestion were for Mac OS users. I use Windows 8 ! So I was hoping that someone could suggest solutions for Windows 8 users.

Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost

- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.

You need to update the iOS. You need iOS 2 or later for apps. See the following to get the last update for the 1G iPod.

ITunes cannot save library

Ive just moved my itunes library to another disk and it all seems to be working fine..... but for some reason I keep getting 'cannot save itunes library error'
I moved the library from <user>/music/itunes to /media/itunes (media is the new disk), and i did this by change the library address to the new location in the preferences and then consolidating the library.... before the actual music was organised in <user>/music/itunes/itunes music and after consolidating it put the music in /media/itunes, so im guessing that itunes is unable to write the database files into the correct location.....
How can i get the database files to write without risking losing my library?

Hi, I have read and write permissions on the newly installed disk and read and write permissions in the folder the music is in....
The verify and repair permissions buttons are greyed out in disk utility..... could this be to do with the formatting? its formatted as mac os extended (journaled).

Cannot save library

When downloading new cd's etc I get an error message saying that the itunes library cannot be saved as there are insufficient access privileges. How do I fix this please?

Are you sure you are using windows XP?
c:\users... doesn't look like the way XP arranges user folders.
If so, did you create that folder specially, possibly from another account?
Next could you try a quick check, can you use Get Info to alter information about your tracks or is it grayed out?

Give us a bit more details. When is this happening? What were you trying to do. Be as detailed as humanly possible. Maybe even take a screenshot.
