ITunes 9 requires password verification for all store purchases!!

Can someone please help me figure out why it is that iTunes is now requiring that I enter my iTunes password seemingly every day for any new purchases I make, even though I've checked the checkbox to "remember password".
I can't be sure but this behavior either started happening when I upgraded to Snow Leopard, or when I upgraded iTunes to version 9.
I know this must have been addressed on these forums somewhere, but I wasn't able to come up with any thing meaningful when I did some searching for the answer.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated... Thanks!

I just tried deleting the local copy on my original library - that just left me with 2 cloud copies.
Then I tried deleting 1 of the cloud copies - that worked initially but shortly afterwards they have now reappeared.
what the heck's going on....

Thanks for the suggestion, Chris. I actually did not resolve the issue which is why i did not post an answer.
it turns out that my iphone seems to default to an incorrect User ID (it defaults to an @me account, which is not something that i have ever used).
even when i change the User ID in my settings for the iTunes store, it still appears when i attempt to get updates for my existing apps. however, it does seem to use the correct ID when i attempt to purchase new apps.
If someone actually had an answer to correct this, i would love to update my existing apps.

ITunes reset all the plays for all my purchased songs!

I jsut looked at my iTuens library today and realized that it reset all the data for all the purchased sogns from the iTunes Store since the beginning of time! All my plays, everything - it has all been reset to zero, as well as if I changed the album name or title...it has all been changed back!
Why in the world has this happened and how do I get it back?! I can hardly stand the though of losing all this data forever!!

copy your entire iTunes folder to your new computer
copy your iPhoto library or other pictures folder to your new computer
copy your contacts to your new computer
You can use an external drive or thumbdrive for the transfer.

HT201371 Touch ID *only* for app-store purchases and iTunes

I'd like to enable Touch ID for app-store purchases/updates and for iTunes. However, I don't want to have to use a passcode or a touch id in order to unlock the phone. Is this possible?
I go to settings > touch id & passcode. I click the switch for app store and iTunes. Then it automatically turns on my passcode so I have to use my passcode to unlock my phone. I don't want this passcode to automatically be turned on.

that still should be up to my discretion. If i dont store anything I consider valuable in the first place, i shouldn't have to have a passcode.
I want touch id only for my iTunes purchases. Its inconvenient to have to enter it every time i buy something...but I dont want a passcode on my phone.
Lots of people use my phone at home (for various reasons) and i hate having to tell people the password every time someone new wants too look through it (for example, a dinner party i was at the other day, and everyone wanted to check out my new iPhone 6).
oh well. Its as first world as a problem gets, but within the scope of the apple universe/ecosystem, it irks me when i dont have the option to remove an annoyance.....i love just swiping the screen and immediately clicking on whatever app i need rather than waste 2 seconds positioning my thumb and wait for it to unlock. like i said, first world problem, but 2 seconds is a pain in the *** in my high speed tech world...and i hate myself just having to re-read what i just wrote

I am trying to change the SYS password and I am getting the following error:
SYS@FPRCDEV> password

ORA-28003: password verification for the specified password failed

If you have run the utlpwdmg.sql file, it creates a password verifier function. It is highly restrictive, and once run it modifies the default profile, assigned to SYS user too. Take a look at the file, so you have an idea on how restrictive this can be, among other things, it requires a minimum lenght, a combination of char, numeric and special characters, it must differ by a certain number of characters from the last password and it cannot be equal to login, amon several other things.
If you think this function is too restrictive for your particular needs, you can create one of your own, based on this proposed, just create another password verifier function, same interface and created under the SYS schema.
You may also create another profile and let sys at that other profile, so it is not affected by the password restrictions. Just tailor this to your particular requirements.

Welcome to the Apple community.
A number of people have reported similar issues recently, many appear to have found a discrepancy of some kind in their account settings and making changes to these settings or simply resetting them has resolved the matter.
Check your account details are correct, check that you are using the correct details for Location, Region and Time Zone. You may want to change these settings and then change them back to see if that helps.
Also check your payment details, make sure your details are exactly how they appear on your credit card statement, you might also try changing some of those details, saving them and changing them back again.
You might also try logging out of and then back into your iTunes account (Settings > iTunes Store > Apple ID’s > Sign Out) and restarting your router. (Some have reported that after doing this, they need to check for rentals even though it may report that there aren’t any, after which rentals once again appear in the ‘movies’ feature)
Rentals should appear under their own heading in the ‘Movies’ feature, you might also check at Settings > iTunes Store > Check For Rentals.
At this point in time, I’m wondering if this could be related to (but not restricted to) the new feature that allows others to come into your home and use your Apple TV to download and play their content on your Apple TV without logging into their account on your Apple TV. The Terms of Use for iTunes Store content have always been to require you to only purchase and play the content from the store in the location where you live and to use a credit card registered in that location. Previously Apple seem to have been somewhat lenient on enforcing such restrictions, perhaps now they are not. However I don’t really have any evidence to support this suggestion, except that changes made to accounts in these areas do appear to be helping many.
If you are successful in resolving your problem, perhaps you would let us know exactly which action resolved the problem for you. If you are having this problem to begin with, can you also tell us your location.

How to get a refund for app store purchases after 90 days

Is it possible to recieve a refund for App store purchases after 90 days have passed. In my case I purchased several apps by the same developer which cost around £10 in total, but due to a recent update they are now unusable and lead to frustration as they are impossible to use. The initial purchase was longer than 90 days ago, however the most recent update that has lead to the faulty item was probably within the last 90 days.

iOS 6.0.1 update still no fix for App Store Purchased section. Keep crashing after few seconds and kicked back to home.

The steps that I have dines so far is similar to you I think. I have all so tried a restore on all my devices running 6.0.1 and still nothing. Have spoke to staff in an Apple shop and they were no help at all and kind said it was my devices that had the issue and nothing to do with anything at Apples end. Have all s spoke to staff in a premium retail seller of Apple products and again, no he,o what so ever. I think it's clearly a issue at Apples end with the serves sending out that data when request. IOS6 is full of bugs and runs so slow it silly.
I'm thinking that Android is the way the forward after all the problems I've had with iOS6.

It should be sent to the email adddress you associated with the Apple ID when you set it up. Apparently it can take up to 48 hrs. This is from Apple:
I didn't receive a verification email (within 48 hours).
Sign in with your Apple ID account and resend the notification. Search all of your mail folders for any emails coming from 'apple.com'.

You'll need to restart the registration process. You can reuse the same account information.

ITunes now requires password everytime I startup. Help!!

I think it might be since 7.2 was released. Everytime I start iTunes, the userid/password thing pops up for the store. Why does it do this and how do I get rid of it? I've dug through preference menus and my account and can't find anything.
