ITunes 9 + Windows 7: Display Issues

I just installed the Windows 7 RTM a few weeks ago, and since the install I've been trying to find a way to get iTunes working right, but a handful of display problems are still plaguing the program for me. Here's a few screenshots of what's going on:
http://img183.imageshack.us/img183/1125/scrollq.png
- None of my album art is showing up in the iTunes window.
- When I scroll with my mouse's scroll wheel, only a fraction of the window actually moves. When I change focus to another application or the desktop, it goes back to normal.
- The top-left and top-right corners of the window aren't rounded, but the others are.
http://img21.imageshack.us/img21/1582/playingart.png
- When playing a song, the album art doesn't show in the Playing Now window either, but shows when I go into the song properties window.
http://img143.imageshack.us/img143/4407/covergridw.png
- No album art shows in the Cover Grid view, but everything looks fine in the Cover Flow view.
I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling iTunes/Quicktime with a registry cleaning, scandisk, chkdsk, and a restart inbetween. If anyone has any other ideas it would be much appreciated.

  • 13" Macbook (black), Snow Leopard, Boot Camp, Windows 7 display issue

OK I don't know where to post this. I couldn't find an appropriate forum under Boot Camp (nothing for display). Apologies if this is the wrong forum.
I am attempting to run Windows 7 using Boot Camp. Here is the behavior:
Booting Windows 7 without any monitor plugged in works fine.
Booting with an external monitor plugged in, I get the display on the external monitor. Now when I unplug the external monitor, the LCD display backlight is off and is completely dim. I had to reboot it in order for the LCD display to work again.
This is not a macbook display issue. But it has to do something with the way Windows 7, BootCamp are compatible with a macbook. Anyone seen this or know what the fix is?
    Thanks
    Sri

I can not get my Win 7 (32) os to see my Mac 10.6 partition. Is there something I need to set or turn on to get this to work?
As for your problem, perhaps Windows is not seeing the FireWire bus?

  • Ipod not connecting to itunes or windows but displaying connect to itunes message.

I have an ipod classic 5th gen and it says connect to itunes with the usb logo and everything.  But when I plug it into the computer running windows 7 the ipod changes to a full white screen with do not disconnect on it but if I disconnect it changes to ok to disconnect.  When I plug in my ipod to my computer neither the computer nor itunes recognizes the device.  Also if I reset (hold menu and center button) it comes up to the same screen.  Please help!

  • ITunes on Windows 7 performance issues - slow and hangs

Is there any way to improve performance of iTunes running on Windows 7?
It has always been slow with lots of application hangs and stalls that will resolve themselves if you wait for iTunes to catch up, but I find it incredibly frustrating.
For example, when iTunes starts and if it is checking podcasts, the entire application is unresponsive until it finishes checking and refreshing podcasts.
Alternately, when viewing my iPad Air and looking at the list of apps installed via iTunes it can take 30 seconds before iTunes responds.
Considering that this is running on a system with a quad-core Haswell processor at 3.2Ghz, 16GB of RAM and Windows 7 x64 it is pretty unacceptable.
The efficiency at which iTunes operates is just appalling.  I can run Adobe Photoshop and many more memory hungry and processor intensive applications than iTunes and get better performance than what I see in iTunes.
This is not specific to my system either.  All of my family members have iPhones and their own computers and this performance issue exists on every computer I have ever run iTunes on.
Is there any way to manually tune performance because this is pretty crappy.  It's been bugging me for years, but today just kind of feels like the last straw.

I guess the answer is, "It's terribad, live with it"

  • I am unable to install iTunes on Windows 7 (Strange issue)

The issue:  I previously had iTunes on a windows install, I migrated to a new computer and a new hard drive for the OS.  Now when I try to install iTunes it gets
half way through the opening bar where its calculating space then it tells me "The folder path 'Misc Stuff' contains an invalid character"
I've gone through and deleted all previous instances of iTunes, ran an uninstaller that removes regestery entries and left over data.  It all comes up clean as if there are no files or entries that use iTunes or anything referencing it.
Yet when i attempt to install its always the above error.  I'm at wits end here. I'm normally pretty handy with a computer and this ones got me frustrated as all get out.

I've been unable to research a reason its trying to go to a directory that does not exist.  It leaves me with out any way to sinc tunes onto my iPod.

  • ITunes 8:Windows Vista displays a blue screen error message when connec

Right...I have read the support page regarding to the problem, and it told us not to use itune8setup or itune864. What can I use, where can I find it as the i-tune download page downloads the itune8setup file...
    thanks

So, I went to the page you posted and worked through the 'burn a DVD problem'.
I was able to create a pure AVI project, and burn it to a folder and then burn it to a disc.  This disc would not play on a DVD player, which is what I am aiming for.
I also defragmented the hard drive.
So, I thought I'd try the original burn again:  Share to DVD. It did not work again.
So, I am thinking that the photos are definately too large, however it did make the AVI project, so does this eliminate the possibility that the photos are too big?
Strange though, because the very 1st time I burned this project, it did do it!!   But not since!
    What do you think?

  • Error Message when I boot iTunes in Windows

    This is the error message.
The registry settings used by the iTunes drivers for importing and burning CDs are DVDs are missing. This can happen as a result of installing other CD burning software. Please reinstall iTunes.
I've reinstalled iTunes and still get this message. Once I click okay it goes to my iTunes screen and everything appears to play correctly however each time I boot iTunes I get this same error message. Thoughts?
Also, recently my DVD/ROM stopped working and in another discussion with a different solutions page I discovered that the upper and lower filters are missing in my registry that is associated with the DVD/rom drive making the drive unable to read CDs or DVDs. Could this have something to do with the recent behavior of my iTunes program?

The registry settings used by the iTunes drivers for importing and burning CDs are DVDs are missing. This can happen as a result of installing other CD burning software. Please reinstall iTunes.
First try rebooting the PC (very important) and then doing a repair install of iTunes. In Add/Remove programs, select itunes, click "Change" and then click "Repair".
If no joy with that, check for a device filter conflict in your registry, as per the following document:

  • How to fix applepushservice.dll issues for downloading iTunes on Windows 7 64 bit

I recently had iTunes crash on my home PC, Windows 7 64-bit.  I have tried several attempts to uninstall and reinstall the program and it still does not work and I receive error messages.  The latest:  The program can't start because ApplePushService.dll is missing from your computer.  Try reinstalling the program to fix the problem.  Problem is, the articles that I have seen state this is an Unknown source and my firewall will not allow it to be installed.  The original error was a Windows Error 7 (registry & .dll issues).  Any suggestions on how to fix this problem?

I have an iphone 4s that is having display issues. If I turn the phone on, it vibrates to acknowledge it successfully turned on but the screen stays solid black. I can plug the phone into my computer and itunes will recognize the phone as well. However, itunes can not do anything with the phone because the phone is locked and I can not unlock the phone because the screen is black.
    >CURVEBALL!!!<
The screen does work though! Through trial and error along side a little troubleshooting, I was able to figure out that the screen will cut on after the phone dies completely. The phone has to die completely with no battery power left. Then if I plug the phone into a charge and wait a while for it to charge, the phone will turn on like nothing was ever even wrong with it. I charge the phone up to like 30% and turn it off then bam the phone turns on but the screen is solid black again.
I am currently in the process of waiting for the phone to die and when I turn the phone back on I am going to completely remove the auto-lock and lock code off of the phone for the time being.
    Any other suggestions? Please help!

Sounds like the device was dropped at some point and damaged as a result.
Take it to Apple for evaluation and a replacement.
