Itunes access

My wife and I both have Itune accounts in the Istore from which we have purchased music. I recently got a new Mac Mini computer and authorized it with Itunes using my account info. The songs that I purchased previously with my wife's account will not play now. If I try to authorize them with her account I get an error and if I do it with my account info, Itunes tells me that the computer is already authorized. There is info on how to fix this on the help page but it doesn't seem to work for me. Any help would be appreciated. I'm a new Mac user so I'm not as familiar with how to navigate as I should be. Thanks.

De-authorize your Mac - reboot then open iTunes and re-authorize - see what happens.
If authorizing your wife's stuff to play on your Mac you need here password.

'The installer has insufficient privileges to modify this file C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support\Web kit.resources\inspector\Images\Spinner Inactive Selected.gif.'
That one's consistent with disk/file damage. The first thing I'd try with that is running a disk check (chkdsk) over your C drive.
XP instructions in the following document: How to perform disk error checking in Windows XP
Vista instructions in the following document: Check your hard disk for errors
Windows 7 instructions in the following document: How to use CHKDSK (Check Disk)
Select both Automatically fix file system errors and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors, or use chkdsk /r (depending on which way you decide to go about doing this). You'll almost certainly have to schedule the chkdsk to run on startup. The scan should take quite a while ... if it quits after a few minutes or seconds, something's interfering with the scan.
Does the chkdsk find/repair any damage? If so, can you get an install to go through properly afterwards?

  • Can I buy a local Spanish sim and use it in  my UK iPad without iTunes access?

I have a UK iPad on O2 and want to use it in Spain for a few weeks.
The cheapest option would appear to be to buy a Vodfone data-only micro sim - which I can get before I leave the UK.
But what do I need to do to change the sim so that I can be sure that it works in Spain? Do I need to register it on iTunes before I leave? (I shall not have iTunes access in Spain - I  am using the iPad INSTEAD of my computer out there not as well as!)

Since the iPad is not network locked it will work with any suitable compatible data micro sim that is Spanish obviously for use in Spain
you do not need to use iTunes to register or for any other reason if the iPad is already working fine on O2
This all assumes you did not purchase the iPad as part of any subsidised deal which are starting to appear in UK

  • ITunes access for the disabled (sort of)

In the nearly 9 years since I've been disabled I have had to use my card about 2 times.  Once was when I got divorced.  I dont know what the 2nd time was but I'm just figuring there was probably a second time.  And now this is the 3rd.
I am missing a part of my brain called the mammillary gland - it controls the development of short term memory & I dont have it.  So that, combined with some areas near that being damaged makes it hard to get things done when things are working properly let alone when you come across a poorly made piece of software or hardware.  My short term memory is nearly non existant but I do have one.  But I am able to get some stuff done, especially if its things that I was familiar with BEFORE.  And with repetition.  With regards to my issue & my problem with iTunes, I'm running into problems because I dont know what is going on as far as why so much of my stuff is just AWOL.  I dont know? I updated my operating system last week or so and with that came the iTunes update.  I look inside and all Hades has broken loose.   I know that nobody has the obligation to treat me differently or whatever just because I've got this problem.  But what is the DEAL with this forum moderation???  I paid for these products and for the right to use these forums.  Now i have no access to a decades plus worth of content PLUS i cant get help here??   I just want help.  Why are you guys so mean like this?
My last -  I dont know how many - but i would guess nearly TEN questions here have been deleted.  I dont understand why I see what nears 20 other people asking the same thing in nearly exactly the same terms - including a guy who has got THOUSANDS OF RESPONSES over in the windows section - thought that was my own post when I saw it!!!  and they're not deleted.  Mind you, I do NOT want theirs deleted, I just dont want MINE deleted.  What is going on?????  I'm not like riddling my posts wtih profanity every 3 words.
The whole issue here is that this newest version of iTunes - which is.... first of all, I gotta tell you throughout all the times I've been posting about it the past week or so I have had to go & look up the version no less than 25 times.  I can remember all the times I've done that but I can never quite keep track of what it says each time I look it up.  Very, very aggravating.  So I give up & I'm not going to check anymore.  I know its either 10, 11 or 12.  Not even going to try to check anymore.
OK So i cannot get anything to work in iTunes.  Its all messed up.  Features seem to be missing.  I dont know if they're even Supposed to be gone or if its just user-unfriendly.  I cannot find my stuff.  I've posted many, many, many specific questions regarding it and now I am  worried that THIS post is going to be deleted for being too genereal just because I've already posted 3000 other things asking the exact specific ones & I cant even remember them anymore after so many deletions.
ALSO , within iTunes, my phone is never backing up properly like it used to.  Its hard to explain this.  Really hard.
ANYWAY.   LIKE THOUSANDS OF OTHER PEOPLE HAVE AND DO AND ARE SAYING....I NEED HELP.  I CAN NOT DO ANYTHING WITHIN ITUNES. TIME & TIME & TIME AGAIN I AM POSTING QUESTIONS ASKING (BEGGING BY NOW) FOR HELP WITH SPECIFIC FEATURES WITHIN ITUNES.
I CANT FIND CERTAIN THINGS I CANT DO CERTAIN THINGS, ETC.  YET WITH EVERY POST I MAKE...POOF.
SO WHAT YOURE DOING IS SELLING ME
    MUSIC
    APPS
    VIDEOS
FOR YEARS & YEARS & YEARS
MAKING ME TOTALLY UNABLE TO ACCESS IT
AND NOW MAKING ME TOTALLY UNABLE TO DISCUSS IT OR GET HELP FOR IT.
    WHAT.   THE.   HECK.
I will attempt to give this here post a little legitimacy by asking just one of my plethora of questions but I'm so exhausted (i mean literally physically exhausted by all the typing and retyping from all of the removed posts!!) Its hard to know where to start or which question out of all of them to pick.  I almost feel like if I choose the wrong one its game over for me or something.
I guess I really just want to know what to do like as far as figuring out why all of my libraries arent showing as far as music, videos, audiobooks - which are not bought thru Apple but until now had always shown in iTunes with no problem at all - and app
If a mod is eading this and feels like Im not adding enough or that i need to say more or say less please just let me know.   POSTS CAN BE EDITED!!!  THEY DONT ALL NEED TO BE DELETED.  I've had another 500000 posts and points it just like i said I keep getting removed.  I am literally physically exhausted.  But I keep trying because I need help.
Look I am sitting here in my house, dying of a freakin brain tumor.  Can I just at least have this?  I just want to not be bored.  Thats all I want.  I just want to be able to listen to my audiobook and music.  And I cant.  12 posts I managed to make it through an entire dozen posts without having to go there but now i'm forced to.   And if anyone noticed me mention that I had a brain injury in prior posts & now sees me say this, yes its true.  Its how I found out about the tumor.  (they sent me to get checked out post-injury & were like hey.  guess what?)

    Hello:
Disabled items are cleared out from session state upon Submit.
Create a hidden item on your page and populate this hidden item just as you populated the disabled-item.
In your page-process refer to the hidden item instead of the disabled item.

  • ITunes access problem

I've seen some posts that discuss similar but not exact problems. Here's the story:
Hadn't logged onto iTunes since I moved in April. I now live with a roommate who already has broadband internet via a different ISP than the one I was using prior to the move (I mention this b/c it's been listed by iTunes support as one possible culprit). My iPod was plugged into the computer. My library opened, but when I tried to access the Music Store, I got an authentication-related error message. So I reauthenticated myself, and I then got repeated error messages (at this point, I can't remember what they said).
I thought, OK, maybe I need to reinstall iTunes. So I put in the CD and reinstalled or at least think I did. I also at one point, either before or after, downloaded the latest version of iTunes. My iPod was still plugged in. Suddenly, I couldn't access iTunes at all, and I still can't. I emailed support and got about 4 different replies, all with overlapping suggestions, all of which I'd tried already.
The next day, I noticed when I tried to listen to a certain song on my iPod that not only had it disappeared, but all the songs I'd downloaded from iTunes were gone. Only songs I'd transferred from my own CDs were still present. That's about $50 down the drain.
The support center has been no help and now is telling me that this is a "technical" issue and that I need to call the 800 number, but there might be a charge. I can't believe this racket.
Even when I plug in my flash drive, where I'd saved iTunes, I can't open it.
I also tried contacting my ISP to see if they could help, but they absolutely suck. We're switching ISPs at the end of the month, but until then, I can't go that route to see if the problem is solved.
Any help out there at all?

    a few questions before proceeding.
are you getting an error message? if so, what does it say? include error message numbers if you're getting any.
or are you getting no error messages whatsoever when you try to launch itunes?
if you're getting no error messages whatsoever, do you just see the wee hourglass for a few seconds, and then nothing? if so, do you also have Norton Internet Security 2005 installed on that PC?
or are you seeing a brief "flash" of the itunes license screen (and then nothing)? if so, do you also see similar behavior when you try to launch your QuickTime?
    love, b

  • ITunes access for multiple users on the same Apple

I think I'm really done myself in for the fist time with my iMac. I have decided instead of sharing a single log-in with my girlfriend, to get her her own. This is working out great, but I'm come to a halt in trying to get her access to our music on iTunes. I read the article on the Apple Support website that clearly explains how to do this, I also read Kay and Bert's message thread which I thought would be of help to no avail.
I've copied my iTunes folder into user/shared then opened iTunes/preferences and connected iTunes the path to the new location. Done... but I can't see any of my music!! ... and I can't even see the music under my log-in. However, I can clearly see the files there in the user/shared folder. I'm starting to feel those "windows" days before I found Apple. Please help!

I got my answers looking at another post. This individual was able to hit up a Genious Bar, something I had tried to schedule on the internet but was denied because I don't have the care plan. Here is the thread.

  • Multiple iTunes accessing the same songs on local network??

    Hello all,
I have imported all of our CD's into itunes on my computer. I would like for my wife and children to be able to access these songs and create their own playlists on their own computers from these songs. The kids have Windows Vista, and my wife, like I has an iMac.
Is this possible?? If so are there any copywrite issues??
    Thanks in advance

Yes, there is a way to share music across accounts on a Mac. First, you have to enable multiple logins (the Apple support person helped me with this).
Then each person has to allow sharing in their itunes applications.
Then, for one person to see and use another's music, that person has to be logged in and itunes has to be running in their instance, even though that instance is not active.
    Good luck.

  • Itunes accesses files on external drive but not showing in finder

I'm running OS  10.6.8. I have an external NTFS drive that I read and wirte to using NTFS mounter. I have files that iTunes show are in a folder on the external drive. iTunes will even play the songs. When I navigate to that folder in Finder there are no files displayed. I connected the drive to a PC and navigated to the folder. Windows says the file (folder) is corrupt. How is it possible that iTunes can read the files? How can I get read & write access to my files?

You'll have to try to repair the drive on a PC.
How is it possible that iTunes can read the files?
Some things will still be readable when corruption occurs, the big problem is when writing occurs when there's corruption.

  • ITunes access problem after iOS5 upgrade

I just finished upgrading my iPhone 4 to IOS5.  Problem: my iTunes ID is embedded and I'm only prompted to enter my password.  My iTunes ID is not an email address and I can no longer access my account.  How can I change my ID in my phone?

Went down to the local Apple store and resolved my issues.  I was told that they had never had anyone come in with the nickname issue before.
    The fix:
DJ had me go to the iforgot.apple.com page (a very familiar page by this point).  Under the box where you would enter your Apple ID, there is a link "Forgot Your Apple ID?".  He had me click on it.
On the next screen, he had me enter my first name, last name and the email address that I thought was associated with my iTunes account.  You can enter several different email addresses, just in case you had several different email addresses that could have been used when you established your Apple ID.  I then clicked on 'Next'
On the next screen, I opted for the 'Answer Security Questions'  Authentication Method.
Answering the required questions allowed me to then enter my email address as my Apple ID and the new password that I had chosen.
After doing so, everything was as it should be!  I was able to update my apps that needed updating...AND... my $21.34 credit was back!  Thank you DJ at the Roseville, CA Apple store!

  • How do I share iTunes access privileges with another user on my mac?

My wife and I use the same Mac. I recently created a separate user account for her after upgrading to Mountain Lion (so that we can get full functionality out of the new features). I gave her user account full administrator access as well as read & write sharing ability in certain folders... So why can she not purchase content on iTunes? What is the best way to extend the same iTunes account across different users on the same Mac?

I found the answer on the Quicken Support site. Unbelievable!!!!
    Article ID: GEN82981      Updated: 8/11/2011 |
Unable to Share a Data File Between Multiple Users on the Same System
Cause The Quicken Essentials data is a data package that contains multiple files.  Each item in the package has permission set based on the current users profile.  When the Package is moved to a shared folder, the permission in the data package are not changed, therefore cannot be accessed by another user.
You can change the permissions for each individual file within the data package to be accessed by other users.  However, the first user who opens the file after the permissions have been changed, will take ownership of the data package, and it will no longer be accessible by the other party again.
SolutionThis issue is currently a product limitation and is expected to be resolved in a future version of Quicken Essentials for Mac.

  • ITunes access for Mac users outside of the USA

We are Mac users both for business and personal. We buy all Apple products and hardware and purchase photo books etc. We purchase all our equipment online and ship. Yet, I have no access to the iTunes free downloads nor am I able to purchase any songs because we do not have a US Billing Address for our Credit Cards! We have international cards and use it for everything else world-wide. Yet no itune!! I buy all Apple products using my card - yet no itunes! Not having access to even download the free songs is not fair, as I am being hindered from creating iMovies because I cannot upload a song. This is an application that comes with my Mac yet I am not able to use it. Come on, you have to help me out here! I need to make some iMovies and post! What can I do? Please help? Debra

Sorry, but there's nothing anyone here can do to help as far as the iTunes Store is concerned. Apple has not, for legal and/or business reasons, been able to open iTunes Stores in every country. If there's no iTunes Store in your country, you'll need to look to other sources of music.
I am being hindered from creating iMovies because I cannot upload a song.
You're not being hindered; iMovie doesn't need the iTunes Store to be completely functional. There are lots of sources for music, such as an imported CDs (you need legal permission to use any copyrighted music, of course, if you intend these movies for other than personal use). You don't need to be a able to purchase from the iTunes Store to have music for your movies.
    Regards.

  • Cannot install iTunes: Access denied

I cannot get iTunes to install on my Windows 7 PC. I have uninstalled iTunes and QuickTime completely, as well as all other Apple software (in suggested order) and downloaded the newest versions. On installation, I receive an "access denied" error for both. I am on an administrator account, run as administrator, deleted my temp folder, everything. I cannot get either to install. Any suggestions? Very frustrating.

What worked for me was on another post:  When trying to update iTunes I receive a "Object already exists"
For "Key not valid for use in specified state" errors try moving the folder RSA from C:\Users\<User>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Crypto\RSA to say C:\RSA (just in case there should be a need to restore it) then try installing again. This folder appears to act as a cache and should be rebuilt automatically as required.
I had tried removing all the ITunes programs, deleting temp folder, etc., and nothing worked until I moved the RSA folder per the instructions above.  I hope this helps someone else because I have spent endless hours trying to get the latest version of ITunes to install and it was very frustrating.

  • How do I get iTunes access back?

iTunes says I do not have access, I just moved the applications to an SSD and the library is on the original drive. How do I get access? Everything is set to read/write.

Connect the iOS device to your computer restore via iTunes.  Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode if necessary to allow the restore.
If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

    For how to restore:
    iTunes: Restoring iOS software
    To restore from backup see:
    iOS: How to back up
If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:

  • ITunes Accesses  FDD every time I play a file (!!!)

This is really funny, as every time I hear the FDD drive being accessed I laugh and keep wondering why would a program like iTunes 7.2, in the 21st century would mess with the floppy diskette drive and access it every time I play a file, despite the fact that I have not inserted a floppy disk since I bought my PC.
Any ideas on how I can stop it?

First, make sure it is iTunes that is accessing the FDD. You can use the free tool "Filemon" to do so:
