ITunes Account Purchase History.Gift Cards Redeemed
I have a concern with itunes Account History. When I view account history of itunes I only see purchases, itunes does not shows gift cards redeemed. The itunes main page shows an _account balance which is great_, but when funds are taken out and you feel there was a double charge,the account history does not show that gift cards were redeemed (credit to account), only purchases, so how does a customer, balance their account
If you are double charged, it will show in your purchase history.
If you put in a $25 gift card, you can only make $25 worth of purchase.
Compare your purchases from the time you input your gift card.

You can see the purchase history on your account on your computer's iTunes : if you log into your account on your computer's iTunes via the Store > View Account menu option, you should then see a Purchase History section with a 'see all' link to the right of it. Click on that and you should then see a list of your purchases.
For authorisation holds, as per the page that you posted from, they won't show on your iTunes purchase history they will only show on your credit card statement - so you will need to look at your card statement to see if your card issuer has removed them yet. -

To use the iTunes Store, you need at least iTunes 9.2.1 which requires Mac OS X 10.4.11 or later. You'll need to upgrade her computer to 10.4 or 10.5 before she'll be able to redeem her card and make purchases.
Apple no longer offers Mac OS X 10.4, though they may still have copies of 10.5 if you call the Apple Store (and assuming that your G4 will support 10.5; it requires at minimum an 867MHz G4 processor). Otherwise you'll have to look to independent resellers or places such as eBay for a copy of 10.4 or 10.5; make sure you get a retail (black label) copy, not the system disk from another Mac (grey label).

How do I change my iTunes account setting to only use gift cards without it prompting me for credit card info to make a purchase. I have credit on my account from gift cards but it won't let me purchase without entering credit card info...I do not want to enter credit card info.
Itunes verifies your account using your cc info.

I cannot use my gift card $20 because my declining credit card refuses my purchase. I don't want to **** thing to use my credit card, I want to use my redeemable gift card **** it, so why won't it let me. And I cannot delete my credit card becase there is NO WHERE to get rid of it!!! Frustrating!!!

My findings on apps charged twice and iTunes account purchase history lost
I've just got permission from Rebecah, from iTunes support, to publish my findings, so it can be of help to others about POTENTIAL duplicated charges in iTunes Store.
First of all, as Rebecah adviced me, I have to say that, although she states "Apple doesn't know how I ended up with two accounts with the same email", I should note that it's my fault because I signed up with another account, as their records say.
Now, to my findings:
1) It seems after 9 responses I had from iTunes support about my request for help with a suspected issue affecting THOUSANDS (more?) users, Apple relies on the SAME SUSPECTED system, on the SAME DATA RESULTING FROM THE BUG REPORTED to test whether the bug exists or not.
Why? Because nobody checks or looks for an answer other than "it's your fault. The system says you have two accounts. Stop using one account (that you created)".
2) I couldn't sign up with the same account. You couldn't. Try it by yourself. Rebecah knows that. She stated +"we can't see how the second account was created or why it occurred"+ but she wants me to note it was my fault, before I post (again) in the forums.
3) I was advised/encouraged by iTunes support and iTunes application's new login window to use my email as the login, instead of the id. NOWHERE in the site/application says my new login will create a new user, losing my purchase history (money)
4) My first post about the matter was removed, and there's no willing to find a fix. Not even a test to see if that can happen the way I say. Anyone with a free .mac account please try logging in with your non-mac email (the one related to your iTunes account) and let me know what happened with the purchase history.
My posts are shorter every time, for the sake of your search for help, because I'm closer to "you're wrong, shut up" and clearer like "I couldn't create two accounts with the same email". The reason why an issue that is making duplicated charges it's not solved yet… I can only GUE$$

The next day, I get the error when checking for downloads that Itunes is not available. hasn't worked since. I also tried purchasing a tv show today and got the 5002 error. It charged me twice as I pressed it twice since my balance didn't refresh 'til i bought it a second time..

No, it means you switch from the US store to the other store. Afterwards you just switch back to the US store. You can theoretically have accounts in many different iTunes stores. Switching is simply logging out of one and logging into another after switching countries. There's a switch country link at the bottom of the iTunes Store.
Personally, it seems it would be much simpler to send a check to all of your friends. Far less trouble than trying to open bank accounts and get credit cards from different countries unless you frequently travel to them and don't mind maintaining cash balances in different banks across the world. Not to mention getting credit cards. Here in Vancouver they won't give me a credit card unless I maintain a $5,000.00 minimum balance in my Canadian checking account. If I did that I'd hardly have much need for the charge card. -

Why can't I make an in app purchase on my ipad. I'm trying to buy something for 49.99 and I have 50.00 on my account from a gift card I just bought.
As RG says, if you're in the US, you haven't allowed for the sales taxes charged by your city and state. You'll need to buy something less expensive, add a credit card, or redeem an additional iTunes card.
