I am trying to sign into itunes. Every time I do this it says I need to update my account information. I do this and I still can't sign in. HELP

perhaps try checking in with the iTunes Store about the problem. the email form at the bottom of this FAQ might be the best one to use:

No. If you connect his phone to your iTunes account/computer, ALL iTunes content on his phone will be erased. By design, iPhone syncs or manually manages iTunes content with ONE computer at a time.

You need to ask Apple to reset your security questions; ways of contacting them include clicking here and picking a method for your country, and filling out and submitting this form.

Account set up problem

I'm trying to set up an iTunes account, I select my payment option as Paypal, I move thru the PayPal screens just fine but when I hit "return to merchant" I get some long error message that extends beyond the screen so there is no cancel button -- in order to get rid of the screen I have to force quit Firefox.
Since I could not get Paypal to return to iTunes I can't "complete" my account set up. I do get an email from Paypay saying that iTunes has been set up as a merchant, but I can't complete the iTunes account set up - the long error message in PayPal says something about a missing a link!
I tried to get iTunes to launch Safari thinking at least I could see if I can cancel out of the PayPal error message but I can't find where to get iTunes to launch Safari not Firefox.
Any suggestions??
UPDATE: iTunes now gives me an error saying it can not verify my PayPal Account. What's up with that???

Welcome to Apple Discussions!
I can't provide much help with Paypal/Firefox, but to get Safari to launch when you go to the iTunes Store - or anywhere else, you need to have it set as your default browser.
To accomplish that, open Safari>Preferences>General and use the Dropdown that says Default Web Browser to choose Safari from the browsers installed on your machine.

Two iphones on one itunes account...problems galore..help wanted!!

My wife and I both have an iphone and are delighted with it except for this problem..
I bought mine first (phone 1), set up itunes and had no problems, it synced nicely, i downloaded music etc and ll was going well... the App store also work fantastically... my wife, based on my success (and the fact that her nokia N97 was pants) decided to get herself an iphone (phone 2). When signing up the contract in store we were told that "just, plug the phone into the laptop if you already have itunes and itunes will reognise it as a second device and act accordingly...." WRONG!!!
What actually happened was that the new phone, synced with itunes with all my details and lost all of my wifes phone numbers she had entered onto it, it got worse, after deleting all the numbers that she didnt want and putting her phone book back as she wanted it, she synced it again, this time itunes took the details from her phone and stored them in itself, next i came along and synced my phone and lost all my work numbers, all my music too and ended up with my wifes details.... Now when i access the App store i have to enter her password.. sometimes.. sometimes i have to enter my own and sometimes neither will work and i cannot download anything at all. Its all become one big mess...
I want an expert to untangle this mess for us as, at the moment i no longer sync my phone at all for fear of losing all the details again so of course im not getting the most from my phone. I phoned teh geek squad and they said... when you start itunes just hold down the CTRL button as you launch it and it will start a second account... it did but im sure that has added to the problem.
Im no itunes expert but need this sorted to enjoy the device the way it was intended...

Sorry things haven't worked the way you expected. You can sync as many devices as you want to the same itunes account, selecting under the various tabs what you want on each device and itunes will keep it all straight upon subsequent syncs. It appears you may not have properly selected what content you want on each device. To sort this out, start by reading this article on syncing. Most of your questions will be answered in that article. Post back after reading with specific questions related to specific content.

IPhone Apps from another iTunes account. Syncing problems.

I had another mac (Ibook G4) and it crashed. I could not use it so I used my husbands account to download some applications and set up my new iphone.
Now I have a new mac. I purchased an application from MY itunes store. When I tried to sync it to my iphone, it started erasing my applications that I purchased through my husbands account.
I tried to back up my applications and add them into my itunes store. It says I can do this at http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1848.
I did this, but it still says that if I sync it, I will lose all my apps off my iphone. Even though those apps are now in my itunes, I am afraid that if I sync I will lose the apps on my phone and in my application folder on itunes. Does anyone know if that is the case?

You have two different iTunes accounts.
One for you and one for him.
When you try to authorize HIS account on your computer, it says there are already 5 authorized.
You need to Deauthorze all on his account.
Do this...
"*To deauthorize all computers associated with your account*
If you find you have reached 5 authorizations, you can reset your authorization count by clicking Deauthorize All in the Account Information screen.
Click iTunes Store in the menu on the left side of iTunes.
If you're not signed in to the store, click the Account button, then enter your account name and password.
Click the Account button again (your ID appears on the button), enter your password, and then click View Account.
In the Account Information window, click Deauthorize All."
You will probably need to do it on his computer since you cannot log on with his account.

Then you can authorize is computer again and you can authorize yours.

You cannot.
You can ONLY use the itunes store of your country of residnece ( proven by the issuing country of your credit acrd and the valid billing address on that card) AND ONLY while you are inside the borders of that country.
You cannot use other countrys itunes store. This is a violation of the terms of service of the itunes store.

You can't transfer purchases from one account to abother.
She needs to purchase iTunes media from her own account.

Playbook email account set up problem

I just got a PB 16GB yesterday and got it set up fine with OS2, connected with BB Bridge - all was well. I set up an email account this morning then decided I wanted a different one so deleted the account. But now when I tap on Add an Account and select email, the only option the PB is giving me is to sign into an existing account - which of course no longer exists, so gives me an error message. I don't really want to factory reset unless absolutely necessary. Can anyone please help? Thanks in anticipation.

Hi, it means existing on the web, not existing on Playbook. just type in the address and password and follow the instructions as before.
Bear in mind hotmail / livemail accounts have a temporary problem with servers.
If you have more than one email account I recommend only one syncs email, calendar and contacts and all wthe others sync email only. Use push where available.

Account Set-up Problems

I have a MobileME account and trying to set up my iChat. I select MobileMe account type and enter my username and password and select continue.
On the next screen, it tells me to click DONE, however, there is no DONE button. I click the CONTINUE button, and nothing happens.
Any idea what is wrong?

Email account set up problem

Hello,
Just setting up my new imac & I've been trying to set up email accounts in Mac Mail for 3 other user accounts. My broadband provider in the UK (BT) provided us with 4 '@btinternet.com' Email accounts. After I installed broadband I was taken through an automatic process in Mac Mail which allowed me to easily to set up my Email account (it's working fine). However, I'm having trouble with the other accounts. When I open Mac Mail in one of the other user accounts I'm taken through the 'New Account' process. First it asked me for a/c type (pop, imap etc) & I'm guessing it's pop. Then it asked me for the 'Incoming mail server'. I'm not really sure what this is but I tried '@btinternet.com' 'btinternet.com' & even the full email address. It couldn't connect to any of them.
Can someone please advise how I set these accounts up as I haven't got a clue & I'm pretty computer illiterate as this is our first home computer.

In the user account that works correctly, open, Mail > Preferences > Accounts tab. The account type is under the account name. Write down what's in the box next to Incoming Mail Server: . Note the format in the box next to User Name: - and whether it is just the user name, a full email address, or some other format. Click the Server Settings button. Write down what's in the box next to Outgoing Mail Server: . Note down the port number and, if any authentication is used, what type it is.
Now open one of the other user accounts and use your notes to configure that person's mail.
