Itunes account transfer problem

I have a iTunes account which is linked to UK address and credit card at home, but would like to change to INDIA as its my home country and credit card here.
and also 0.63 pounds which is outstanding balance in UK, i willing  to pay that particular outstanding amount in INDIAN Currency .so is it possible to change the payment method and i can use my same ID in india?

You can't change countries whilst you still have a balance, you will need to either spend it first, or try asking iTunes support to remove it from your account : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page

  • 2 iphones on one itunes account imessage problems

My husband and I each have a 4s both linked to the same itunes account - both were working fine using facetime and imessage, but my husband had to get ihs replaced at the apple store today all fine EXCEPT thefacetime/imessaging as all messages are now coming through to BOTH phones rather to different phones?? any ideas?? both have same login details but they did before he had his swopped (we have sperate icloud accounts though)

If you share one Apple ID for the App Store and iTunes, but use separate Apple IDs for iCloud, you should use those separate Apple IDs likewise for iMessage, and your problems should go away.

  • 2 Iphones on same Apple/Itunes account a problem for OS6?

My wife and I each have an Iphone as well as Ipad..(2 phones, 2 Ipads).  We have one Itunes/Apple account id, mine. So far it has not been an issue, but today I just updated all of the devices to OS6 and I'm a little concerned about the new messaging setup. It looks like the messaging parameters are now attached to the account and not the device. It appears the settings on both phones are synced and identical.
    When I go into message set-up --> Send & Receive :
The first section labeled: "You can be reached by Imessage at"  has   my celltn, wife's celltn, my email, wife's email.  All 4 are checked
The second section labeld: "Start a new conversation from:  has my celltn, wife's celltn, my email, wife's email.  Only my cell tn is checked and only one selection is allowed.
Am I to interpret that the first section means that any text message sent to any of the 4 address listed will be recieved on all 4 as well?
And it looks to me like the second section means that messaging can only originate from my cell phone (the only one checked)?
I just noticed this this morning as I updated the phones then had to leave. I intend to do some testing tonight, but I certainly hope this isn't a 'new feature" that will force me to create a second Apple count just so my wife can use text messaging.
Anyone have a similar issue or can tell me its not a problem?
    Bob

    Hi Mate.
Just had a little think about this and think this is fairly simple to resolve although I haven't tried it so let me know if this works. This should allow you to have two different iCloud accounts for each device but still use same apple I'd for purchases of apps music etc.
Back up both phones onto iCloud before doing this so u can revert back if it doesn't work. Continue the rat at your own risk.
    Do this on both devices.
    1) Go into settings... iMessage...send & Receive... Apple ID... Sign out
    2) Go back to settings.... imessage... use your apple id for imessage... create new apple id (Each user set up their own iTunes (iCloud account)
    3) Settings... iCloud.... Account... Turn off contacts, calendar reminders etc. but when the option comes up KEEP ITEMS
    4) scroll down and select Delete account again keep data on phone
    5) then go back into settings and sign into iCloud using your new iCloud settings on each device
    6) once you've done that it'll say your contacts, calendar etc on this phone will be merged onto iCloud make sure you click merge then all your contacts will be saved up to the cloud.
    7) check iTunes password is right by clicking settings.... iTunes & App Stores apple I'd should be that which u use for iTunes :-)
    Hope this helps.
    Add the new profile.
Then just use the original iTunes account details in the iTunes Store settings so u can still both use the same account for music and app downloads.

  • ITunes account transfer

Is there a way to transfer money I have on an old ITunes account to my new ITunes account?

No, your old account's balance can only be used to buy content for that account, it can't be transferred to another account (nor used to gift content to it) - if you've only just redeemed the card onto the old account and not spent any of it then you can try contacting iTunes Support and ask them if they can move it to your new account : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ , click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption

Just make sure to copy the iTunes library on your Mac to a External Hard Drive or USB drive, or burn them to DVDs.  Follow this guide here http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1449
This link is not for the iTunes library. It is for the iTunes media folder.
Copy the entire /Music/iTunes/ folder (which includes the iTunes media folder).

  • ITunes Account Transfer On Device

I got my iPhone 3GS from Fed-Ex on Monday, and my brother got his hands on it and unbricked it on his PC, and now whenever I try to download/update an app, it requires his iTunes password, which he refuses to tell me or assist me with. Anyway I can use MY iTunes account instead of his to download apps and update them on my phone?
    Thanks in advance,
    James

I synced but I have not restarted my phone. I will try that now.
    P.S.
After I synced, I tried to install the new FML app (the apps my brother synced over are outdated) and it required his password.
Restarting phone and will update when done.
UPDATE: Still no luck. Rebooted and re-synced and still requiring his password.
About to try restoring the phone to it's default state.

I can go in manually and give each folder within the home folder permission to access its self,
If you mean you are doing it by using "apply to enclosed items" button DON'T!
WARNING: NEVER use "apply to enclosed items" on ANY system created folders, your startup drive or the time machine drive. That includes folders like your Documents folder, your Desktop folder etc. use it only on folders you made yourself. system created folders often have hidden ACLs and using 'apply to enclosed items" on them will propagate those ACLs to everything inside and buy you a lot of trouble.
however this will take forever, it seems its not giving "useraccount" permission to access its self, I have to assign this through each folders individual permission setting

  • TS1292 ITunes account balance problem

I recently downloaded two iTunes gift cards worth 25 dollars each.  And when I bought one song iTunes shows that I only have  22 cents in my account balance but when  I hit view apple ID it shows my actual account balance of 48 dollars so what do I do about that?

    Hi..
Try here first > iTunes Store: Invalid, inactive, or illegible codes
If that didn't help, and this gift card was purchased directly from Apple, use the email form here > Apple - Support - iTunes Store - Contact Us
If you did not purchase the gift card from Apple, take it back to the merchant for a refund.

Importing your music folder will add in the tracks, but your playlists all live in the original .itl file. Not quite sure why any playlists were imported at all, though if you have exported m3u files then they could have been added in when you added the folder. iTunes records absoulte paths in these lists and ignores any file it can't find.
The stuff in the Temp folder can be thrown away once everything is working. Just safer than deleting in case you wanted/needed to reverse any actions.
At step 6 you should have had your original library complete with ratings, playlists, date added values etc., so I'm not quite sure where things have gone wrong.
When you moved everything up one level did that include an iTunes Library.itl file? Another way of asking the same question is when you got to step 6 did you have a completely blank library with the prompts to add music.
Perhaps the .itl file was corrupt. The .tmp files indicate something may have gone wrong at some point. What are the sizes/dates of the files in the Previous iTunes Libraries folder? The most recently dated of these, providing it is at least of a comparable size to its predecessors) may well be a better starting point. You can rename the current itl as iTunes Library (Temp).itl, copy the the older file up to the iTunes folder and rename it as iTunes Library.itl.
Use iTunes Folder Watch to update the library with tracks that have been added or removed since the backup file was created.

  • MacBook Pro - iTunes USB Transfer Problem

I have a MacBook Pro. When i try and transfer my songs from iTunes to my 8GB usb drive, the screen kind of gets taken over by a grey screen with a light opacity and then my laptop completely freezes and there is a small dark grey box in the middle saying "You need to restart your computer. To restart hold down the power button"
*When i transfer about 80-100 songs it works okay, but its usually just the big transfers*
This has happened several times and I am just wondering if anyone had any possible idea as to what is causing this.
Note: I have tried different USB's so its not that
This is what the screen looks like...

  • Account Transfer problems

I have just brought a new 24 inch imac. I have transfered all the account setting from my old imac using a firewire cable as instructed when I first turned the new mac on. All was good until I restarted the new mac. It will not accept any of my passwords for the transfered accounts. I can see the accounts in the start up box but it rejects the password. Any advice greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

You can reset the password using the Mac OS X installation disk that came with your iMac.
Insert the disk and startup from the optical drive (hold down C key during startup). At the first Installer menu (after language selection), go up to the Utilities menu. Select the command to reset password (don't remember the wording exactly) for one of the admin accounts. Once you have one accessible, hopefully you can reset the others.

  • New laptop, account transfer problems

    Greetings!
Yesterday I received a new MacBook Pro and after installing Leopard from scratch, I used a TimeMachine backup of my previous MacBook Pro Leopard laptop to restore my home directory. In a terminal window from another account, I did:
    $ cd /Volumes/backup/Backups.backupdb/hostname/Latest/HD/Users
    $ sudo tar cf - cswingle | (cd /Users; tar xvf -)
After an hour or so, everything copied over. The Unix UID of the accounts is the same, and when I do 'ls -l' I get Unix ownership and permissions that are sensible. But I can't do anything in my home directory, receiving 'Permission denied' errors. I've tried 'sudo chown -R cswingle /Users/cswingle', but it doesn't fix anything.
I have a feeling this has something to do with Access Control Lists, which probably aren't being transferred when I use 'tar'.
Is there a command-line method for fixing this? Do I need to erase my home directory and use the Time Machine GUI to properly restore my home directory?
    Help!
    Thanks,
    Chris (cswingle)

I did try /bin/ls -e [file], but all I got when I did that was the name of the file. I wasn't sure if that meant there were no ACL's, nor what I should see. Plus, I'm not sure what to change them to? I've lost my connection to the system (I'm at work, it's at home), so I can't try anything until later today.
As for why I didn't use TM to restore, I'm a command-line Unix person, and was monitoring the restoration from my workstation at work. Can't do that with a GUI, at least not without all the overhead of sharing my desktop, getting VNC through my Airport, etc.
    Cheers,
    Chris
I am not sure that there is not a non-GUI way to use TM to restore a complete Leopard backup.
    (Pardon my triple negative )
Whatever the GUI instruction is on the Leopard DVD to completely restore a system, I am sure that there is a corresponding BSD command to do the same.

  • 1 mac 2 users, 2 iphones(+), 2 itunes libraries and 1 itunes account!

Hi.  This is an enigma!  Both my husband nad I have iphones which we sync with my mac although on different user accounts.  We both use different libraries but also both use only 1 itunes account.
Problems 1:  Husband has created his own account now but how do we transfer the purchases he has made via my account to his?
Problem   2:   We both have found since upgrading iphone that we have duplicae enries all over the itune on the iphones only - not showing up in the individual iTunes libraries on Mac.
We have not had any problems for a long time with syncing - not since this new software.  I have my account enabled on my iphone for game centre etc, but my husband has closed his as he keeps getting my details flashing up.
Not sure if this is an itunes issue or iphone?  Both I think!
I realise that until the 'accounts' issue is sorted neither of us can use iCloud which is extremely frustrating - speicially as I just paid and downloaded Lion!
    SM

I vaguely recall reading about some commercial library manager that is supposed to help with merging libraries.  Simply adding the files will not, of course, carry across playlists or some metadata some people want to keep  such as playcount, ratings, last played date, etc.  However, all the ways I can think of doing that are pretty complicated (and the commercial utility basically uses some of those tricks).  You may be able to do playlists by exporting them from one library and importing in the keeper library.
