Itunes accounts for credit checks?

can someone from the US answer this for me - say i fail the credit check for the phone, could i then use my girlfriends itunes account and set up the phone in her name. did it give that option? or did it just say failed and offer pre pay.

hi,
i seen this on the o2 website under the FAQ's on the iPhone section
*What happens if I fail the credit check?*
If you do not pass the credit check, you will not be able to activate your iPhone. You'll need to return the iPhone in as new condition with all the original packaging and accessories to the original point of purchase, with proof of purchase and the email confirming activation failure within 14 days of receipt for a full refund.

I want to set up an iTunes account for my minor to use without having to input credit card information. I want to give him an iTunes allowance or prepaid iTunes cards for funds.
If this can't be done, can I create a user account from MY iTunes account to do basically the same? I do NOT want to tie a credit card to his account or user ID...

Is it possible to have two credit cards saved in iTunes account for app purchases?

No, only one card can be linked to an account at a time, you can't have 2 cards stored on it.

I have a Verizon Iphone 4 though my job.  I also have a At&t Iphone 4 for my personal phone.  Can I use the same Itunes account for both phone or will I need a separate account for Verizon Iphone?

I dont live in US, live in Japan.. but I do have 2 iPhones, one 3GS and one 4. I use same iTunes Account on both.
You might have a little "problem" if your payment were by Credit Card, everytime you try to buy something (I mean, try to download something on your iphone, not from your computer) , your going to need to verify your payment... but if u use iTunes Gift Card, you wont have any problem with that

  • How to fund an itunes account for a child

I've setup an unfunded itunes account for my 10 year old son. I'd like to fund it with $5 per month. seems there's no way to do that - the allowance is limited to a minimum of $10 per month and buying a gift card - even a "digital / e-mailed" one, the minimum denomination is $10. And no, I don't want to fund it with $10 every 2 months. Is there a way I can fund it in increments of $5? Better yet, random amounts? And if not, why not?

This is a user board. None of us know why it's a $10 minimum.
Terms of use for the store state your kid is supposed to be 13 yrs old, FYI.
My advice is have him make a wish list, put in your credit card details and let him buy stuff with your supervision, then set your card details back to NONE to prevent your account getting hacked.

  • 2 iTunes Accounts for family ... mistake?

    Hi,
Recently I purchased an iPod Touch for my wife. Prior to this we had no clue how to use iTunes, ipods etc. We installed iTunes on our main home computer and created an iTunes account for my wife using her email address. I attached my credit card to this account. My wife purchased several apps, music and videos.
A few weeks later I decided to purchase an iPhone. I installed iTunes on my laptop and created an iTunes account using my email address. I attached the same credit card to this account. I quickly purchased several apps, music and videos.
Firstly, I wasn't really aware of how the licensing to purchasing apps, music, videos and other items really worked. For example, if I purchase an app or song, I then am able to share my purchase across other ipods/iphones in my household. I had assumed that a purchase could only be used on one computer/ipod combination. In other words, an app I purchased could only be used on my iPhone and accessed from my laptop. As far as I can tell, my initial assumption was wrong.
I have since obtained an older iPod model for my daughter. I have installed iTunes on her computer but have not attached it to an account.
Here's my dilemma. I would like to setup our iTunes on each computer in such a way that we can all share purchases. This can be done using the Home Sharing option in iTunes 9. The problem is that each computer needs to be using the same iTunes account in order to share content across each computer. I guess I should have only used one account when setting up my wife's iTunes and mine? In my case, my wife and I both have separate accounts with different purchases?!?
So my question is, how can I take the purchases made on my wife's account and transfer them to my account so that we can effectively stop using her account and only use mine? Is this possible?
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks.

Thanks for the suggestions. I still can't get this to work properly.
Here's what I want to do. I want to be able to share my wife's library and my library through home sharing. Also, I would like to share our app purchases as well. Finally, I would like to have my daughters computer to also access our libraries. My daughter doesn't have an account.
Here's what I did. I authorized all 3 computers to use my account. I authorized all 3 computers to use my wife's account. I then clicked on 'Turn on home sharing' on my computer and used my account details to turn it on. I then did the same on my wife's computer, using my account details to turn it on. My wife is able to see my library items but I can not see hers? I imagine doing the reverse would result in the reverse result.
Also, assuming I did setup home sharing properly, this only allows you to automatically share purchases made after the home share has been set up and not before. So how do I go about sharing the purchases made before?
Thanks again for your time and help.

  • ITunes account for child

I purchased an iTouch for my 10 year old for Christmas. He is currently using my old iPhone 3g to play angry birds and other things. My question is whether I should create an iTunes account for him or if I should simply sync his device to my account since I am the one purchasing everything. If I sync his device to my account, how much control is there regarding iCloud sharing of photos? I ask because I would rather not have our photos sync to eachothers devices. Next question- can you even have two separate iTunes accounts on one computer??? Confused and wondering how other families do this...I am leaning towards syncing his device to my account but would love some feedback. Thanks!

Yeah, the only way to create an Apple ID for someone under the age of 13 is to make sure you use a birth year that makes them 13 or older on the FIRST TRY. Once you have a birthday associated with an email address Apple locks them in. That email address wont' be able to get an iTunes account until it's 13th Birthday.
There is a way to create an account without associating any credit card, but you'd need an iTunes Gift card or a prepaid credit card. That's what I gave my 13 year old niece and I load up 10-50 dollars every once in a while.
The thing is, If you have a kid who's under 13, it's probably better that they don't have access to your iTunes account because they can purchase things with your attached credit card not knowing that they are racking up real money in charges. If you do let your child use your ID, make sure it's password protected and that you don't give them the password EVER. Especially now with all of the "in app purchases" it's really easy to rack up a HUGE bill buying virtual smurfberries or whatever.
    http://moneyland.time.com/2011/02/08/1400-for-smurfberries-why-you-should-think- twice-before-handing-an-iphone-over-to-an-8-year-old/
PASSWORDS wont' be hacked by children if they are never told what the password is in the firstplace.
Also remember that the iTunes TOS states that kids under 13 can't have their own Apple ID. So if you are caught they can delete the account...maybe more, not really sure. This is why they "lock" birthdays to email addresses, so you can't realize that you've made a mistake and go back and make the kid's birthday 10 years later and just keep going.

  • Itunes account for sub account not allowed?

I'm trying to open a new itunes account for my daughter who has a sub account from our .Me "Family Pack". So far, I have been denied completing the sign up process. The error message is: "We are experiencing technical difficulties. Please try again later". Does this mean sub accounts in a .Me "Family Pack" can not own individual itunes accounts? Does it mean one itunes account must be shared among all "Family Pack" members? If so, this seems very limiting for itunes business and not a good incentive for buying the .Me Family Pack. Can someone tell me if this is true or how Family Pack sub accounts can open their own itunes account. Thanks

If you want them to have access to songs and videos, even free ones, you will need to provide some sort of payment method to set up the account, if not a credit card than a prepaid iTunes card or gift certificate. Apple uses this as verification of the user's country of residence, something the content owners require of them.
If you only want your users to have access to free songs, you can set them up an account using your credit card, then remove the credit card information from the account. Then they will only be able to download free songs and videos, though if they attempt to purchase something that has a cost, it may allow the purchase, create a balance due, and "clog" up the works until the item is paid for in some way.
    Regards.

  • ITunes account for my daughter

Am in the process of setting up iTunes on the three accounts (wife, daughter and mine) of my new 27" iMac.
I would like to set up an iTunes account for my daughter so she can see the album artwork, but am not prepared to enter my credit card also on her account application.
If I purchase a iTunes card with some credit, can I open the account for her just with the code?
What will happen if the credit on the card gets to zero?
    Thanks
    Adam

am not prepared to enter my credit card also on her account application.
You can enter it on the registration page then delete it immediately after you complete the registration.
If I purchase a iTunes card with some credit, can I open the account for her just with the code?
If you wish. Instead of going to Create new accout, go to Redeem on the main iTunes store screen, enter the code, then select *Create new account*.
What will happen if the credit on the card gets to zero?
She will not be able to make a purchase until another gift card is entered or a CC is linked to the account.

  • ITunes account for minors ?

Is there any way possible to create an iTunes account for minors ?
I was thinking of one that will allow them to download free songs, but not make purchases. I was thinking of creating an account without a credit card information. Would this be the only logical way ?

  • ITunes account for children

How can i set up an iTunes account for my 10 year old? Apparently, there's an age limit; he needs his own account to store his own tastes in music and games.

Set it up in your name with a separate email address, and let him use it.  When he is old enough and financially responsible enough, he can take it over himself.
After it is set up, remove your credit card details.  Load it a bit at a time, either with the allowance feature or gift cards.  Also, make sure that any device he uses has the iOS restrictions ( http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4213 ) set to avoid rude surprises regarding in-app purchases.

  • Can i set up an itunes account for my friend living in another country?

I would like to set up an itunes account for my friend living aboard and I'm happy to use my own credit card details to buy the music and use my own email address. Is this possible? It's for a birthday present so I wanted to just send her the login details to the account and hey-presto she has lots of cool new music. I've looked up itunes cloud / match etc but have no idea if this is possible to do. Please help and thanks in advance

FYI, you've posted to the iTunes Match forum, which your question really isn't related to.
But, the answer to your question is no. To set up an account in a regional iTunes Store the person must have a credit card drawn on a local bank and an address in the local country to create the account. The Terms of Service of the stores also prevent someone from living in one country and using another store.

  • If I want to add a family member who is not in my household and has their own itunes account and credit info...

If I want to add a family member who is not in my household and has their own itunes account and credit info...will all their purchases be charged to my credit card as the Organizer?

    Hi mbostick,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
The only way a family member can use their own funds and not the Organizer’s account for purchases would be with store credit, such as an iTunes gift card.
    Family purchases and payments
    Making purchases
After you set up your family, any time a family member initiates a new purchase it will be billed directly to your account unless that family member has gift or store credit. First, their store credit will be used to pay the partial or total bill. The remainder will bill to the family organizer. As the family organizer, any receipts generated by the transaction will be sent to you. Learn more about how iTunes Store purchases are billed.
    Have a great day,
