You need to restore the device to factory settings using a computer with iTunes.  Then, if you have a backup, you can try restoring the backup to your device.

  • WHEN I TRY TO ENTER ITUNES STORE IT COMES UP AND THEN GOES BACK OUT WHAT IS IT I NEED TO KEEP THIS FROM HAPPENING?

WHEN I TRY TO ENTER ITUNES STORE IT COMES UP AND THEN GOES BACK OUT.  HOW DO I STOP THIS FROM HAPPENING?

    To re-install iPhoto
    1. Put the iPhoto.app in the trash (Drag it from your Applications Folder to the trash)
2a: On 10.5:  Go to HD/Library/Receipts and remove any pkg file there with iPhoto in the name.
2b: On 10.6: Those receipts may be found as follows:  In the Finder use the Go menu and select Go To Folder. In the resulting window type
    /var/db/receipts/
    2c: on 10.7 they're at
    /private/var/db/receipts
A Finder Window will open at that location and you can remove the iPhoto pkg files.
    3. Re-install.
If you purchased an iLife Disk, then iPhoto is on it.
If iPhoto was installed on your Mac when you go it then it’s on the System Restore disks that came with your Mac. Insert the first one and opt to ‘Install Bundled Applications Only.
If you purchased it on the App Store you can find it in your Purchases List.

I think that being signed into your apple.com account but with Safari first and foremost would be better as that would allow an Apple cookie to be set down onto an integral proprietary application (yes the Safari browser - go figure). Then (that is secondarily) you should sign into iTunes and have (more reliable) fun.
Google's motto was "Do No Evil" was it not? So do you honestly believe that their primary business interests and application performance jives with that of Apple? Sometimes yes, other times...no. Sorry, just sayin.

  • Yellow lines and some purple around the screen, and freezing, help?!

    hi i have an iMac G4 First generation, and lately, the computer has been malfunctioning in the strangest way;
its been either crashing and freezing up, OR invaded by yellow and orange lines all around the screen... i tried a clean install of system software and still no luck at all. i took out the extra ram that was in there, and still hasnt worked. yellow and orange still appears around the screen, and sometimes, the mouse seems to have black bars forming a square shape over it.
please help if anyone can. i would love to find a solution available that doesnt involve having to bring it in and replace hardware, however, i know that it is probably unlikely to be able to
these yellow marks around the screen are frightening!
    thanks!

Read the information from Apple below and see if it applies:

Edit: Oops, sorry Blake - that applies to G5's. I would take your G4 to either an Apple store or an Apple certified technician.

  • HT1692 Have recently installed itunes and outlook on a new computer.  Have multiple email accounts set up in Outlook tho only use contacts and calendar in relation to one of these. Cannot sync itunes with the correct contacts and calendars, Help!

My new computer is 64-bit running Windows 7 pro, SP1 and Microsoft Office 2010 Pro Plus 32-bit
My phone is a 4S runing iOS 6.1.3
Very frustrated now that I have recently installed itunes and outlook on this new computer.  Everything worked perfectly ok on my laptop which was also 64-bit Windows 7 and running 32-bit Microsoft Office 2010 Pro.  I have multiple email accounts set up in Outlook tho only use contacts and calendar in relation to one of these. Cannot sync itunes with the correct contacts and calendars, when I sync the calendar and contacts are empty.  Not sure if there is any way to point itunes to particular address books and calendars.
I have installed and uninstalled itunes 3 times and thank goodness have a backup
    Can anyone help please?
    thanks in anticipation

I had my home computer set up to sync to work's Exchange server. It worked well, but I didn't like seeing work email messages and other programs trying to sync with my default Outlook folder, which was then the Exchange (& work related) .ost file. I know there are various ways to manage those problems using filters, view, subfolders, etc., but it was a hassle for me. I think it could work well for many other folks.
For now, I have published my work calendar and subscribed to that calendar on my home computer. So I have view only access to my calendar on my home computer (and I can add/edit calendar items on my iPad (or Outlook Web Access) when away from work). This is not quite what I wanted, but it may work.
It almost makes me long for the days when I used my Windows Mobile Treo to sync back and forth between exchange at work and outlook at home (but had many sync conflicts as a result).

  • Ipod will not sync to itunes, just stops half way and freezes the computer

my ipod has suddenly stopped syncing to itunes half way through and freezes the computer. it is not the songs because they sync to my phone. how can i fix this?

Have you tried plugging the Nano into another available USB port or using another USB sync cable?  Does it seem to be freeze when syncing the same track?
I assume iTunes is up to date (10.7 at the time of this writing).

  • ITunes Store music preview stops and freezes all playback

I hope someone can help, I'm at wits end with this.
There's a lot of people complaining that they can only preview a few seconds of a song in the iTunes Store.
Oh yeah? Big deal, just be glad that's your only problem with it, because when this happens to me it locks up my iTunes from playing anything else and I not only have to exit iTunes but then terminate the process from task manager.
Let me describe it in more detail because it's so weird... and YES, I DO have the latest version (10.7.0.21)
So I'm in the iTunes store, I'll click the song preview button, I may or may not hear a few seconds of the song but it ALWAYS just halts playback before getting very far. I can move the slider, hit pause or stop or try to preview another song but nothing happens. What's worse, afterwards I'll go to my iTunes music Library and try to play a song and it pops up but doesn't play, like as if it is on permanent pause. It just DOES NOT play anything, therefore making iTunes completely useless other than messing with playlists and song info.
So now my only choice is to exit iTunes, oh but the problem is far from over. Now iTunes dissapears from my taskbar, but the little icon by the clock is still there. Clicking on it does nothing. I cannot rerun iTunes until I terminate the process in task manager. Okay, I kill it and start fresh just to have it happen all over again. I just dread pressing that **** preview button, I can't live like this.
This certainly was never a problem in earlier versions of iTunes and there's been no other significant change on my PC in the last two months (which is the last time I remember things working as they should). What gives?

Perhaps try resetting your iTunes Store Cache.
Go "Edit > Preferences". In the Advanced tab, click the "Reset cache" button shown in the following screenshot:
    ... and then click OK.
Restart your iTunes, and head back to the Store. Are you getting full previews now?

  • IMac recognizes iPod, but iTunes does not...and freezes.

    Hello.
When I connect my iPod Classic (I have reset it), the icon appears on my iMac, but it does not in iTunes, and iTunes immediately freezes, necessitating a force quit. iTunes is fine without the iPod connected.
I have upgraded iTunes from 9.2 to 10.0, but the problem remains. Can anyone offer help or suggestions?
    Thanks.

    Hello Jerry,
Here is the Apple support document related to your issue.

If no luck there, I would try reformatting the iPod via Disk Utility using the instructions in this article.

Other than that though, I don't have too much for suggestions. Best of luck.

  • ITunes slow, "Do not disconnect" and freezing - how I fixed it

Ok, I don't know how many people this might help but I thought I would post how I managed to fix my iTunes.
I was experiencing various problems. Firstly, when starting up iTunes it would just give hourglass, stop, then boot up the program 1 minute later. Any action I did would cause the program to freeze for a while before it started the action I asked it to. The iPod would also never eject and would stick on "Do Not Disconnect". Any CD's I inserted would cause it to freeze. Sometimes iTunes wouldn't recognize that the iPod was inserted. It also consumed 100% of my CPU resources ALL the time, and would occasionally force me to reboot. Rebooting with iPod inserted would cause my PC to stick at the Mobo manufacturer screen and wouldn't boot at all until iPod was removed...
The list of things that made it not work is endless...
This fix is pretty simple, although it might not work for all. There seems to be a problem with the path letter assigned to the iPod when it is connected. If, like me you run your system boot on a path other than "C" and have no other drives attached to "C" then when you insert the iPod it will default the HD it creates to "C" - iTunes does not like this - your PC does not like this - Windows doesn't like it either! So, you could change it's path to something else but then every time you connect your iPod it will keep defaulting to "C".
So, you need to create a HD of sorts and assign it to "C" so that the iPod can never obtain that path when it's connected each time. Either create a small partition of an existing HD or install something like Daemon Tools and assign it's virtual drive to take up the "C" path.
As soon as I did this everything runs perfectly. No freezing whatsoever, iTunes works perfectly, no freezing ever, ejecting and inserting my iPod and CD's works fine. In fact, it all works fine!
I hope this might help at least a few people who are suffering with not being able to run their iPod Nano.

First of all, try another port on your computer. Some ports are not connected direct to the motherboard and do not recognize the iPod as well as those that are.
    Still no joy? See these.

  • I have a Windows 7 Computer.  When I go into itunes store, it comes up, and I can navigate in it, but a box keeps appearing saying accessing itunes store.  I then get a session timed out, so can't purchase anything.

I own a Windows 7 computer.  I can get into itunes okay, and I can get into the itunes store okay.  After I am in the store, a box keeps appearing that says "Accessing itunes store".  It goes on and off.  I am able to navigate when the box is not showing.  If I try to download music,  I get to the point where I need to agree to the agreement contract, then says "Session Timed Out."  I have the latest versions of itunes and all my Windows Updates.  What can I do about this?

I was struggling with this since my latest Itunes update.  Fiirst it would not recognize my IPad as a device, after correcting that, it would list the Ipad in my device but my Sync had no options (summry, info, etc). and it kept saying it was "Accessing Itunes store".  reading your question I suddently tried deleting the itunes task (alt-ctrl, delete, processes) and delete Itunes.  (By the way, I had rebooted my computer several times over the last few days).  I opened up Itunes, and voila. Device is there. No "accessing windows" and my sync has the normal options.
****..feels good to actually write an answer rather than writing a questions.
