ITunes always asks for sign in

Every time I start iTunes, even if only to listen to my local music, it pops up a dialog box "Sign In To Use This Computer for Automatic Downloads"
If I click "Cancel", it pops up a second time; after the second "Cancel" it goes away. As far as I can tell, Automatic Downloads are disabled.
How can I make iTunes stop asking me to sign in every time I use it? (I don't want to stay signed in because I use several different computers and don't want to manage sessions across all of them.)

  • Itunes always asks for credit card authorization

I'm using the same computer, but always get challenged to verify a credit card security card, claiming I am using a different computer.  Why do I always have to repeat this activity?

You can create an iTune and App Store account without credit card details
    1. Sign out of current Apple ID if you are sign-in to one (important)
    2. Go to App Store and select a free app
    3. Tap INSTALL APP
    4. Create New Apple ID
    5. Confirm Your Country
    6. Agree with Terms and Conditions
    7. Fill in your Apple ID and Password (you must create a new Apple ID; don't use your old Apple ID)
    8. Create and answer your secret question
    9. Select NONE for Payment Method
    10. Fill in Billing Address
    11. Submit application for new Apple ID
    12. Wait for verification email
    13. When email arrive, verify your account
    14. Start downloading your free apps

  • ITunes Store asking for sign in several times a day.

I upgraded to iOS7 on my Retina iPad. I took the time to make sure all my Apple ID, iCloud and iTunes App Store logins were entered. Now, the OS keeps asking me to log-in to the iTunes Store at intermitten intervals. Sometimes twice when the device is on, sometimes when a new app is launched. Every time, I check to see if I am loged in through the settings app, and in fact, I am. I will enter the password and verufy, and occaisionally it will tell me that it cannot log in, sometimes it is successful. I have also experienced difficulty with restoring purchases in an app after upgrading, once even being charged a sceond time for content I had previously purchased.  Aplle worked with me to reverse the charges, but I am still seeing this log-in request pretty frequently. In just the OS, and in several apps/games.
Has anyone else seen this behavior or have a fix? Thank you all, very much.
    Cheers,
    George

    Hi all,
this is continuing to happen, but a little bit of an update. I tried a couple of fixes mentioned in the thread that discussed having the iTunes Store app crash.
    1) Checking the cookies settings in Safari - mine was set to the recommended setting
    2) Launching iTunes, then tapping the "Store" button
My issue seems to be in actuallu connecting to my iTunes account, which seems a common factor in some of the posts here.
I have verified that I am logged into Game Center, that I am logged into iCloud and that I am logged into the Store via the settings app. However, it often asks me to log in again. Sometimes twice in a row. I have seen error messages "Can't Connect, try again?" and seen it accept the entry and disapear.
Any suggestions will be DEEPLY appreaciated. Thank you!

  • I was using a different itune id and now a new one but when i want to update the old app its always asking for my old app id. Is there a way to change my old app to my new id so that i dont have to use my old id.

There is no other way you can do now. Actually, you don't need to create a new Apple ID account, you can change the Apple ID from old email account to other email accout easily by all the steps below.
1, Open iTunes > iTunes Store > log in old Apple ID > Click on your apple ID on the right hand side on top > choose account > Apple ID > Edit
As long as you only change your Apple ID, then all the old apps are still under your new email account as well as you can keep downloading new apps.

  • When I sign in to iTunes store, asked for password for someone else's Apple ID

I have the exact same problem. I recently upgraded my iphone from a 4s to a 5c and I never used a different Apple ID. What should I do now so that my Apple ID shows up instead of someone else's?
    A ssuggested above...
    On iPhone:
Settings > iTunes & App Store > Apple ID: > sign out then sign in the correct Apple ID.

  • When I go to update my software using the app store download, it always asks for the previous user's ID, not mine.  Please help!

When I go to update my software using the app store download, it always asks for the previous user's ID, not mine (my IT guy at school's-I am a faculty with admin priviledges).  I have signed in as me, have set the main preferences login user as me,and everywhere on the laptop I can use my apple ID except here.  It always shows me a greyed out ID of my IT.  How can I reset this to my ID? It doesn't give me an option to change the user ID, only a link to reset password.  I reset it, but it did not change the problem.  Can someone help me?

It's not an ID problem, it's an ownership problem.
When someone uses their personal Apple ID to buy and download content, the content is licensed to them and has their Apple ID engrained in it's DNA. It is an anti-piracy program. And when that personal Apple ID is used to setup a new Mac, it involves the Mac itself, the shipping OS and any pre-installed apps as well.
It's not the correct way to handle Macs that belong to a business or an institution. And had it been handled correctly they would not now be in this predictument needing a drastic remedy.

  • Why does iTunes keep asking for my password when I want to listen to my music on my iPhone?

When I want to listen to music on my iPhone, iTunes keeps asking for my password.  I am not purchasing anything.  It started today.  Why is that?

I've been having the same problem on my iPad and iPhone. I talked to Apple customer service this morning. They had me do the following on both devices in the Settings:
    * Sign out of iTunes & App Store
    * Sign out of FaceTime
    * Sign out of Game Center
    * Delete iCloud account
They also had me restore my iPad due to some glitchy behavior in the Music app.
Things seemed to me fixed for a few hours until I went into the iTunes Store app on my iPad and added a movie to my Wish List. When I went back to the Music app, the dreaded "Sign In to iTunes Store" popup started showing up again on both devices. Suspicious!
So, I cleared out my Wish List in both the iTunes Store and App Store. I've been poking at the Music app on both my iPhone and iPad since then I haven't seen that popup once since then. I'm not going to declare victory yet since it's only been an hour or two, but I thought that this was worth mentioning.

  • Device always asking for apple password b4 downloading apps

my device is always asking for apple store password even though I'm supposedly signed on. Is that normal?

That is normal, because it doesn't want somebody that may have stolen your device to go using your money on apps you don't want.

    Security codes
The credit card security code is a unique three or four digit number printed on the front (American Express) or back (Visa/MasterCard) of your card.

My itunes is asking for a kind of pasword while I am trying to backup my phone as it lost my contacts after an update of the software yesterday? As I remember i never set a pasword and even if I have one pas for mos of the things but its not working. Why apple have to set a pasword for me, and why the haven't let the chance to reset the pas if forgoten? If someone have any clue how to fix this please let me know.

if you cant remember the password of your back-up encryption, you can't back it up
You will have to restore as a new phone

There is only one thing that happens -- the Server does not respond.
Your mac concludes that you must have entered the wrong password. That may happen once, but then other issues become more likely, and it keeps asking for a new password.
Sometimes the Server is down for maintenance. Sometimes something is configured wrong. Some services do this on purpose to get you to use WebMail (pick up your Mail with your Browser) so they can show you some ads.

  • Why does Intel version always ask for my password when adding loops?

When I add loops to the PPC version, it never asks for my password. I want this behavior on the Intel version. Always asking for my password’s really annoying. Thanks very much. Peace.

Being able to to access, install and change anything on your computer with a simple keystroke is just not a good thing security wise. Maybe you don't download from unknown sources, use a wifi network, use public or work networks, IM, let others use your computer or let OS and software get out of date. But people reading this may not be in your situation. Most password hacking tools will start with single keystrokes and no password will gain access in a fraction of a second.

  • How do I get rid of iMac always asking for login keychain

How do I get rid of iMac always asking for login keychain, very annoying

There is a utility called Keychain Access.  It is in your Applications/Utilities/ folder.  Keychain Access has tools to do "first aid" and a reset on your keychain.  Here are some Apple Support articles with instructions.
