ITunes always requesting for "allowing incoming network connection"

Hi.
I have this problem since idk when but every time I opened up iTunes, it always pops up a dialog window: "allow incoming connection". When I check on the preferences, I noticed that it's already been signed to allow all incoming connection. And if I turned the firewall off, iTunes will not pops up any of those dialog windows. But if I turned it on again, it will pops up once more.
So what's the problem and how to solve it?

That post says it is an iTunes problem. If you are having this problem with other applications those should probably be addressed on an individual basis. I haven't seen this issue but I am still running Tiger and I haven't installed a new version of iTunes in 5 years.

ITunes always asks to allow incoming connections

I have the apple firewall turned on. iTunes is set in the firewall to allow incoming connections.
With iTunes Home Sharing turned on every time I start iTunes I am asked to allow incoming connections. I reply yes and the next time I restart iTunes I am asked the same question again.
If I turn iTunes Home Sharing off I am never asked about allowing incoming connections when I use iTunes.
Is there something else I should be doing? ( other than turning the firewall off )

If you are experiencing this problem on your Mac, follow these simple steps to get rid of the Allow or Deny popups:
1. Go to the Applications folder and drag iTunes to the Trash. Don’t worry, your music, videos, and entire media library are not affected and will still be there. Only the iTunes software will be uninstalled (though it's always wise to have a backup, particularly of your iTunes Store purchases or anything else that would be difficult/expensive to replace).
2. Reboot or log out of your Mac. This step may or may not be necessary, but it certainly doesn’t hurt.
3. When you are logged back in, go to Apple’s website to download the latest version of iTunes if you haven't already..
4. Install iTunes. Do not import any songs or videos if it prompts you to do so.
All of your media should be right where you left it the first time your fresh installation of iTunes is opened. If you get another firewall popup asking to Allow or Deny incoming network connections, make your choice and that should be the last time you see it. Future iTunes launches shouldn't pester you anymore.

Allow incoming network connects?

Every time I launch iTunes a dialog box appears asking: "Do you want the application "iTunes.app" to accept incoming network connections?" I have a brand new MacBook AIr (Yosemite 10.10.2) with iTunes 12.1.0.50.
I first what, or why, is iTunes making this request for a network connection? This is just a question to assuage my curiosity.
More to the point, how do i get rid of this annoying request? I've tried both selections, allow and deny. I've tried going into the Securities & Privacy - Firewall Options and managed to change the iTunes setting to "Allow...", not an easy task as I had to remove the com.apple.alf.plist files from the library (a suggestion from another search on this question). With all these efforts dialog box keeps making the same request each time I launch iTunes.
I appreciate your help with this very annoying issue.

Leaving the firewall on should not give you any comfort, because it's not protecting you from anything. That's a false sense of security, which is dangerous. Hackers are not going to magically reach through your router and steal your data, or if they are, the firewall won't stop them.
But if you have a legitimate use for the firewall, which I doubt, see below.
Please open the Security & Privacy preference pane and select the Firewall tab. Click the lock icon to unlock the settings, if necessary. Click the button marked
          Firewall Options...
In the sheet that opens, the box marked
          Automatically allow signed software to receive incoming connections
should be checked.
If the application that you're having trouble with is on the list above that checkbox and is blocked, change the setting to
          Allow incoming connections
If the application is not on the list, add it with the same setting.
If it's already on the list and already allowed, delete the entry, then add it back.
Click OK. Test. If there's no change, ask for further instructions.

"Allow incoming network connections" - why?

I recently had to change from Tiger to Leopard and now, each time I launch iTunes, I get this message asking "Do you want to allow iTunes to accept incoming network connections?"
What makes this worse - in the Security/Firewall pane, iTunes is already listed among the apps to allow this. So what's going on?

Try this:
1. Go to the Applications folder and drag iTunes to the Trash. Don’t worry, your music, videos, and entire media library are not affected and will still be there. Firewall is on, iTunes is listed with "allow all incoming connections". Nevertheless I have to allow it manually on every launch. What can i do?

Incoming network connections – must accept manually every time I launch

I keep getting asked, every time I launch iTunes, whether I want to allow it to accept incoming network connections.
Isn't there any way to avoid this extra step every time I want to run this application?

Just in case anyone stumbles upon this thread like I did...while searching for the same problem with Keynote (or maybe other apps). Deleting the Keynote app and emptying the trash worked to clear up my persistent "allow incoming network connections" pop-ups in Keynote. But since you can't just download Keynote again (unless you purchased form the Mac App Store), here's what you can do:
Type "Keynote" into the spotlight search. When you see the app in the search results, Command+Click on it to open up it's Finder location. Then right-click (CTRL+Click) on the Keynote app file in Finder and choose "Compress..." to create a zip of the app in the same folder location as the original. Now delete the keynote.app file to send it to the trash. Lastly empty the trash. Once the app is gone**, double-click on the zip file to expand Keynote again in it's original location. Once you're satisfied, you can send the zip file of Keynote to the trash.
**If you still get the problem even when deleting the app and emptying the trash, then you might need to delete and purge the "plist" file for keynote as well. It is located at /Users/YOURUSER/Library/Preferences (where YOURUSER is your own personal username) and the file is called com.apple.iWork.Keynote.plist. If you don't know how to get to your Library folder on later version of Mac OS X, you can open Finder, hold down the Option key while clicking "Go" in Finder's menu bar, and Library will magically appear as a Go location.

Keeps asking to accept incoming network connections for iTunes

Why does OS X keep asking if I want the new iTunes to accept incoming network connections on every iTunes launch?
1. It appears in the firewall, and is green lighted to accept incoming network connections.
2. I have the checkbox to automatically allow signed software to accept connections.
3. I have repaired permissions.
4. I have re-downloaded and reinstalled the application.
5. I am running the latest version of OS X with all updates installed.
This should not be happening.

I constanstly get the exact same nag message about allowing incomming connections, plus now iTunes just pops up all by itself, and I simply do not ever let anyone inside my firewall, period, including Apple, so they can spy on my info or software. The snooping scanel of the last couple of days has only underlined my decisions.
I have denied them access in security/advanced. I have turned off connect to apple for for song info. No Ping.
I do however run DLNA across my wifi network using BubbleUp client so I can access my iTunes library via TiVo throughout the house, and have for the last year with no issues.
(During this message, itunes has launched, nagged and started playing music all by itself 3 times!)

I have version of itunes 11.0.2 running in Snow Lep 10.6.8. and I run my iMac via wifi rather then ethernet, and have for 3 years. This is all new in the last 3 weeks. I'm happy with the version I have, with no interest in uninstall/reinstall or screwing around with the newest versions, which I really hate.
I'm ok poking around in Terminal if that's the answer. otherwise, I'm off to WinAmp or DoubleTwist, though I'm open to other suggestions as well.
Please excuse my angry tone, but I've had nothing but problems with this machine since I bought it, it's been to the shop once and reformmatted from scratch twice, and regard it as the second worst decision of my life. The worst one was my first marriage

How do I stop my Mac from asking if I want to allow iTunes to accept incoming network connections?

Every time I open iTunes on my Mac, a drop down box asks me if I "want the application "iTunes.app" to accept incoming network connections?". I always click allow, but it's a pain to have to do this every time.
Does anyone know how I can permanently stop this box from appearing?

I have the same problem with Keynote.
It's already set to accept incoming connections but it still asks whenever it's launched--annoying.

Firewall always asks to allow the same incoming network connections

I recently changed my firewall setting from "Allow all incoming connections" to "Set access for specific services and applications" in order to better protect my computer. After making this change, my computer will ask me to either allow or deny incoming network connections for any application that requests that type of connection. Once I make a decision to allow or deny access, my choice is saved in System Preferences>Security>Firewall. Thus, I do not have to keep making the decision each time access is requested - OSX remembers my decision.
Currently, in addition to the OSX services that I have turned on and are listed in the Firewall access screen - File Sharing, Remote Login & Screen Sharing; I have the following applications listed for allowing incoming connections: Adium, Skype, TiVoDesktop, BOINC, GrowlHelperApp & Cyberduck.
Unfortunately, for two programs - Adium and BOINC, the firewall setup asks me every time I boot, or start either application whether I want to allow incoming connections. When this request occurs, I click on the allow button. The first time I did that, an entry was made in the System Preferences>Security>Firewall settings page that shows the application and that I allowed incoming connections. But, I still get asked every time.
During troubleshooting, I discovered that if I disabled my Bonjour account in Adium, I stopped receiving the continuous requests for Adium. In fact, when I started Adium, with the Bonjour account disabled, I received no request. However, as soon as I enabled the Bonjour account in Adium, I immediately received the request. Interestingly, the request indicated Adium, not Bonjour as making the request. And, when I clicked allow, no new entry was added to the Firewall list for Bonjour (The Adium one was already there).
For BOINC, there is no setting related to Bonjour, so I am unable to make a clear connection there. However, even with no Projects attached to BOINC, I still get the incoming connections request every time I boot. So, the problem is related to the BOINC application itself, and not any particular project attached to it.
The evidence suggests that the problem is associated with the OSX firewall and Bonjour, not with Adium & BOINC. Any suggestions on how to resolve this problem would be appreciated.

Thank you for your suggestions. They were helpful. I went to System Preferences>Security>Firewall and removed all of the applications there, so that the only items left were the services I had turned on (File Sharing, Remote Login & Screen Sharing). I then restarted the computer.
After the restart, BOINC requested the incoming connection and I clicked allow. Adium did not ask, since I had my Bonjour account within Adium disabled. I then restarted the computer again. When it came up, BOINC did not display the request window for incoming connections. So, the problem was fixed for BOINC by following your recommendations. Unfortunately, this was not the case with Adium.
I next enabled the Bonjour account within Adium and I immediately received the request window for incoming connections. I clicked allow, and Adium.app then appeared in the System Preferences>Security>Firewall list indicating that it was allowing incoming connections. I restarted the computer and as soon as Adium restarted, the requested window returned. I immediately restarted the computer again, and got the same thing upon starting up. I then disabled the Bonjour account in Adium, restarted the computer and the request window did not come up. So, there appears to still be a problem when having an enabled Bonjour account within Adium.

Firewall always asks for incoming network connections

Some of my installed applications like Dropbox, Coda, Adium, jDownloader... are always asking if incoming network connections are allowed?
How can I turn this off? It's getting really annoying!

I'm having this problem, too. It happens with EVERYTHING, including Word, Excel, and Photoshop. I have my Firewall turned on, but I also have it set to allow those programs to accept incoming network connections.

Accept/Deny incoming network connection for apps already accepted/denied

i am constantly getting the dialog box to allow/deny incoming network connections for applications that i launch on my MBPro, even though these programs have already been allowed or denied. this causes multiple entries for the same applications in my firewall advanced list. each time i accept or deny, a new entry of the same program is added to the list. as an example, for Excel i have 5 entries - 2 that allow incoming connections, 3 that deny. the same goes for apps like itunes, word, nleac, and others.
if i delete these extra entries, they just get added to the next time i launch the program.
i've tried the remedy suggested by the macfixit forum (http://reviews.cnet.com/8301-13727_7-10330466-263.html) of deleting the firewall preference file "com.apple.alf.plist" and performing a disk permission under Safe Mode - didnt help.
looking for new suggestions. incidently, this wasnt always the case and other than upgrading to snow leopard, i cant specifically recall a change that started this problem.

i've been doing that for some time now, as this problem has been going on for months. even after i delete all of the programs that have multiple listings (and the key word there is ALL because basically every program that wants access has multiple listings here) the list gets re-populated the next/every time i launch that application. even if i later deny an application's request after accepting previously, they'll be multiple listings for that app - including listings to Allow and listings to Deny - for the the same app!!!

ITunes - Incoming network connections error message

Hello,
I am hoping some one can help me?
I have a Mac and I keep get an error message appear when I open my ITunes.
The error message reads " Do you want the application iTunes to accept incoming network connections".
I have changed the security settings to accept incoming network connections but the error message keeps coming up.
Any ideas??

My father has a perfectly good working 17 inch MacBook Pro, running on 10.4.8 which is the most modern version it's allowed to run, plus running iTunes 9.x and have the same problem. It does get tiring clicking each time, it does get annoying not being able to use airplay because it blames the firewall, and It gets annoying entering the administrate access and password each time.
When he selects the AirPort Express in question, that used to throw up the "not set in your firewall to allow AirPlay".
Clicking the firewall preferences button is useless, as it's already been given permission to allow incoming Internet connection, and clicking ignore makes it either crash , stop working or be inactive.
Turning firewall off to allow all connections defeats the point of having a firewall, but used to work most of the time, but doesn't seem to work now.
This coincides with him suddenly not being able to browse the Internet streams through the old iTunes radio button, but the ones that he did safe to his personal playlists play fine and he can enter custom stream URLs fine. So something on apples side must be stopping the use of the old radio button that allows you to browse through various genres of Internet music streams.
For the record there has been no iTunes or operating system updates for 10.4.8 for a couple of years now at the very least. So that is where our situation lies. A solution other than iTunes which no longer allows browsing.

Every Time OS Asks If I Want To Let iTunes Accept Incoming Network Connection

I believe since a recent upgrade ...
Every time I book my computer and launch iTunes I get a message asking if I want the app to accept incoming network connections.
I just hit Allow and the box goes away but this morning I figured I'd do what the box says and look at my System Preferences / Security & Privacy / Firewall settings.
And it seems that iTunes is set to allow.
Any ideas?
I'm posting here in the Mavericks forum as I get the feeling this is an OS issue not iTunes but if people think I should post elsewhere please let me know.
I'm running iTunes 12.1.0.50 and OS X 10.9.5 on an i3 iMac

I've been travelling and under the weather so am only just now getting back to this little issue.
When I go to my home / Library / preferences I see a bunch of files but not the com.apple.systempreferences.plist you suggested. (I had to do two screen shots as the list was bigger than my screen).
And when I do a search in finder for the file the only thing that shows up is the email from this forum telling me of your reply.
Could the file be called something else or hiding somewhere else?
No big deal to click "Allow" every morning but ...
Any suggestions?

ITunes to accept incoming network connections?

I have allowed iTunes to accept incoming connections, and my firewall is on, but is still gives the warning;
"Do you want the application “iTunes.app” to accept incoming network connections?"
Any suggestions, guys on how to stop this warning form comning uo every time I lauch iTunes?
