Itunes and a new PC

Hi. I have to change jobs (and countries) and my iTunes is on my work PC and want to know how to sort my iTunes. When I start at my new job with a new PC and load up iTunes again, how do I prevent my iPod being wiped? Is there some way that I can tell iTunes that my iPod is the master and it must copy all the songs to form a new library? I guess this provision must exist for when you buy a new PC or your current one crashes and all the data is lost. Thanks Dave

If you have access to your original PC connect your iPod and switch it to manual update before connecting it to another one then you will be at no risk of erasing it. Using iPod with Multiple computers
The transfer of music is designed to be one way by default - from iTunes to iPod. However there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the files from your iPod. This is just a selection.

If you can't change the update option on your original computer then you can use a keyboard command to prevent your iPod auto-syncing with iTunes. While connecting the iPod to the computer on Windows hold down Shift + Ctrl keys (on a Mac hold down the Option and Command (⌥ and ⌘) keys). This will stop the iPod from auto-syncing with iTunes and the iPod will appear in the source list. Wait until you are sure the iPod has mounted, and that it will not auto sync and then you can let the keys go. This may take between 3 and 30 seconds depending on your computer. Then go to Preferences>iPod and check the "Manually manage songs and playlists" box.
if at any point you get the message that your iPod is linked to a different library and asking if you want to link to this one and replace all your songs etc, click *No*. The iPod will not be erased if you make sure to do this.
Keep your iPod in manual mode until you have reloaded your second iTunes and you are happy with your playlists etc then it will be safe to return it auto-sync again.

i am not able to install update or remove itunes and install newer versions,
its stops installing and a windows error is shown
i e :: windows installer service could not be accessed , this could occur if you are running windows installer in safe mode
or windows installer service is not correctly installed
the same error happens if i try to uninstall the itunes from the control panel- remove programmes option
im using windows 7 home basic 64 bit version
this eroor is not happening with any other programmes..
can someone tell me how to solve this issue

It depends on how the developer chooses to release the new version. If they release it only as an update to the existing app in the iTunes Store then no, you won't have to buy it again. If they release it as a new app - usually they'll change the name slightly - then you will have to buy it again.

I have an iphone 3GS and had a lot of music in my itunes account. My computer died and will not even turn on. I finally got a new computer and a new iphone 4S however quite a bit of my music is not in my itunes when i put it on my new computer. is there any way to get that music off my iphone 3GS to my new computer? I am unable to uninstall old itunes and install new itunes 10.7 64bit

When I start up my computer DELL desktop Precision 3500, I immediately get the message that i need to install the new itunes.
I also am unable to open MIcrosoft Outlook in order to get my email.
I go to itunes.com and try to install the new version of itunes 10.7 64bit and it appears to install but will not run until I uninstall the old itunes.
I go to uninstall itunes and it says i do not have persmission to uninstall.
I have been attempting to get this repaired for the past 3 days wilthout any solution.
Please help.

I had to upgrade my itunes because I got an iphone 5s so i deleted the old itunes and tried to reinstall the new itunes and it wont install because it says the network resourse im trying to use is unavailable and that i need to choose a different location or path for the new itunes to verify i can use the path where it was going to go. My internet connection is fine and working properly. I dont have the old version of itunes because i tried to unistall it but it didnt completely uninstall from my computer but i still cannot open the old verison of itunes. I just want to get some version of itunes back so i dont lose all my itunes stuff. Any suggestions?

Which particular .msi file (or files) does the message (or messages) go on to say cannot be found? (Several different .msi files might be mentioned in this context: itunes.msi, bonjour.msi, AppleSoftwareUpdate.msi, etc.)

when i try to import a new cd audio (as i always like to buy cd more than sharing music with itunes...) in my iMac with itunes 11., first my cd doesn't appear on the desk, doesn't lauch iTunes, and it is immediatel ejected...
when i take the same music cd, and i try it in my WHITE (and old ) Macbook with iTunes 10., there is no matter and i can import "normally" it in my library....
At least, when i use an old music cd that i have imported some weeks ago, with iTunes 10. on my iMAc, there is no problem, iTunes goes on and the album appears in the menu. ANd the cd is not ejected !!!
AN idea??

You can go to iTunes>Store and sign out of his account and sing into his. Apps are locked to the account that purchased them
