ITunes and CD-Text

Will Apple ever open iTunes to facilitate CD-Text? I have found scripts for the Mac but nothing for the PC to allow iTunes to use CD-Text. Official Support for it would make sense considering that a great portion of the world's computer users still have limited (dial up) or no internet at all to access the Gracenot CDDB server. I mean everytime that I want CD info must I dial up connect and then download some track names when they are already located on my CD. And of course there is the reverse... But I could be content with only accessing CD-Text for now. Please Apple with a cherry on top.

there isn't a dedicated technical-feedback/feature-request channel for itunes. but there is one for the ipod. since itunes is the only supported means of getting music onto an ipod, i reckon that's a worthy channel through which to make itunes feature requests direct to the Appley-folks:

These are iMessages only.
He activated iMessage on his iPhone with the same Apple ID that you activated iMessage with on your Mac.
On your Mac, go to Messages preferences.
Under the Settings selection for your Apple ID, deselect your brother's phone number for you can be reached for messages at.

ITunes store is all blank boxes and blue text. How do I fix that?

I downloaded the latest version of iTunes and when I tried to access the iTunes store, 1) it takes FOREVER to come up, 2) it doesn't come up most of the time and is a blank white screen instead 3) when it does come up, it is a bunch of blank white boxes and the text is all in blue. Also the genius doesn't load either and takes forever.

Try this,
Close your iTunes,
Go to command Prompt -
(Win 7/Vista) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".
(Win XP SP2 & above) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/Command Prompt
In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
netsh winsock reset
Hit "ENTER" key
Restart your computer.
Now launch your iTunes and see if it is working now.

Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new). Has any of this been tried?

Try going to Settings>Messages>Send & Receive and uncheck the email address(es) shown under "You can be reached by iMessage at". If that doesn't work, you'll have to tap the ID, sign out, then sign back in with a different Apple ID for iMessage.

ITunes 10.7 - The menus have disappeard and search text is invisible

After I downloaded iTunes 10.7 the menues have disappeared, they are invisible (file, settings etc.), and the text I write in the search box is invisible. Any clues?

That's consistent with trouble with the Segoe UI fonts on your system.

iTunes doesn't just restore a phone to factory settings all by itself. You must have selected the incorrect button.
In any case, if there was a previous backup of your phone, you can restore your phone from this backup. Any new data you added to your phone since this backup is gone.
If you have no backup, then your data is gone.

MacPro 2009, OSX 10.8.5, iTunes 11.1 shows everything in black base and white text?

I've updated MacPro to 10.8.5 and iTunes to 11.1.
The problem is, that these updates did not solve a problem where iTunes shows everything in negative colours - well almost everything.
Mostly it has a black base and white text for example on Music Library and on the side bar.
Anybody with any solutions maybe?

How do I transfer information from iphone 4s to iphone 3g or is this possible? I dropped my iphone 4s in water yesterday. I had saved my old 3g.Synced 3g to itunes and restored from back up.I have no pictures or texts from my 4s.Why didn't they transfer

I dropped my iphone 4s in water yesterday. Got out my old 3g to use temporarily. I synced it to itunes and restored from backup. However, none of my pictures or text messages transferred to the 3g. Did I do something wrong? Why won't those transfer? I had just synced my 4s over the weekend. Everything I have read says to just hit restore and it should have restored to what was on my 4s. Can someone please tell me if I've lost those things forever?

So when I plugged in my iPhone 4 (iOS 7.0.4), iTunes told me it needed to update to the newest version... so I did. After installing it it gave me an error (-45019) that said that a required component wasn't installed. I looked it up and people were saying to unistall iTunes and all apple related software and reinstall itunes which i did. I am on Windows 8.1.
Now it gives me this error. "Apple Application Support was not found. Apple Application Support is required to run iTunes. Please unistall iTunes and install iTunes again. Error 2 (Windows Error 2)." I did this and it gave me the same message... Please help! How do i get iTunes running again?

Let's try a standalone Apple Application Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of the issue.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:

Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleApplicationSupport.msi to do a standalone AAS install.
Does it install properly for you?

I'm relatively new to Mac and want to try and get the most out of the new MacBook Air.
My wife and I have been sharing the same Apple ID. We both have iPhones - she has a 5 and I've got a 4S.
We only have one copy of iTunes and we have been sharing the account. (She doesn't really use the computer for anything beyond writing the odd weekend assignment.)
Would I be better off setting her up with her own and making her as a separate user on the computer? Would this require much work?
In recent times with updates, we have a few problems with the duplication of texts and that sort of thing. Both of our texts are stored on the computer and that sort of thing. Also, sometimes texts I send her are sent through to me from her, if that makes any sense.
Anyway, I don't really want to overly complicate matters when it comes to accounts etc, but I wanted to know if a fresh Apple ID would be the best thing or even a new user?
Any tips etc would be greatly appreciated

Your question is almost too much a personal one, begging the question "do we (husband and wife) feel comfy sharing one account on the Mac"   maybe thats why nobody answered you.
It doesnt complicate anything, but it adds steps for switching accounts on the Mac/ purchases etc. of course
since your question is mostly personal, ..I wont answer THAT part of it, but creating a new account is easy.....messing with switching back and forth is also a personal preference 'issue' as well.   I prefer to keep things simple, but...........you and yours, I dont know.......

The main differences between iTunes 11 and earlier versions are the loss of coverflow and ability to have multiple windows open.
In Windows, you can restore much of the look & feel of iTunes 10.7 with these shortcuts:
ALT to temporarily display the menu bar
CTRL+B to show or hide the menu bar
CTRL+S to show or hide the sidebar
CTRL+/ to show or hide the status bar (won't hide for me on Win XP)
Click the magnifying glass top right and untick Search Entire Library to restore the old search behaviour
Use View > Hide <Media Kind> in the cloud or Edit > Preferences > Store and untick Show iTunes in the cloud purchases to hide the cloud items. The second method eliminates the cloud status column (and may let iTunes start up more quickly)
If you don't like having different coloured background & text in the Album (Grid) view use Edit > Preferences > General and untick Use custom colours for open albums, movies, etc.
With iTunes 11.0.3 and later you can enable artwork in the Songs view from View > Show View Options (CTRL+J) making it more like the old Album List view
View > Show View Options (CTRL+J) also contains options to change the sorting of grid based views
N.b. iOS 7 requires iTunes 11.1 or later. Do not downgrade iTunes if you have already upgraded your devices... Roll back of iOS is not possible.
If you feel the need to roll back to iTunes 10.7 first download a copy of the 32 bit installer or 64 bit installer as appropriate, uninstall iTunes and supporting software, i.e. Apple Application Support & Apple Mobile Device Support. Reboot. Restore the pre-upgrade version of your library database as per the diagram below, then install iTunes 10.7.
See iTunes Folder Watch for a tool to scan the media folder and catch up with any changes made since the backup file was created.
