ITunes and Compilation issues

Well, I think it's a problem many people have, but I have not been able to find a good answer. (Plus I am lazy, to be fair).
I have a fairly big collection of Ministry of Sound albums (all of which are compilations of several artists). I have labelled the Album Artist as "Ministry of Sound" while retaining the real artist and album name.
I have also marked the songs as part of the compilations and selected the box in the Advanced options to group compilations, yet I get this:

As you can see, the list is sporadic and unordered, the albums are all over the place making the cover look horrible.
Please help out. I am using the latest version of iTunes.

Click on the column header for Album.
You can click again, slowly, to cycle through Album, Album by Year, or Album by Artist.
You currently have Album Artist selected. I can tell, because there is a little triangle in that header.

Privilege issues with iTunes and General issues with lion.

My compter frooze this eventually lead to my reinstalling lion from Time Machine. This has lead to several major problems firstly my iphoto library missing, also when I connect iPhone. I get an error telling met "This computer is no longer authorized for apps that are installed on iphone ....... Would like to autorize this computer for items purchased from the iTunes Stores..." then it said would you like to authorise. I clicked yes. Then I get a error message. About directory not found or correct permission. I can not even deauthorise and other authorise. I think I have permission problem.
Further issues is that other user's data has been deleted. i had drag and drop itunes folder in order to get back their downloads. The music appears in itunes and historic purhases on itunes. ITunes and Quicktime issue (Please Help)

So last night I download the update for iTunes. Everything seemed to be going fine, I didn't have any problems. This morning I turn on my computer and try to run iTunes and it gives me an error message, an dwon't even open iTunes. Not only that, I can't run any Quicktime file, it gives me the same message. I downloaded the installer again and attempted to repair iTunes. It said I was sucessful, but when I tried opening iTunes or Quicktime the error still appeared. This is really frustrating, this is what I get for updating? Someone please help!

The answer to iTunes and Vista issues...

After waiting for weeks for Apple to listen to all the posts about Vista and iTunes issues, I decided I could not wait any longer. I went out and bought Anapod Explorer which syncs music, video and photos effortlessly with Vista. This proves onc and for all that the iTunes issues with Vista are indeed iTunes issues, and Apple should feel ashamed that they are not supporting the vast majority of iPod owners out there who use Windows not Mac.
In the end, it's Apple's loss as now I do not use iTunes at all so will never be able to use the iTunes store. All Windows users should vote with their feet and stop using iTunes until Apple respects them a little more and works quickly to fix issues with Vista support.
If a small company like Red Chair Software can develop a product that works so well with Vista, how come Apple can't? I recommend Anapod 200% and at $30 it is a bargain.

The only glitch I got after it finally launched is that iTunes said my computer was not authorized to play tunes. I had to use my last 5 of 5 authorizations. I only have 3 computers, but I've had this glitch before. Hope I never get it again.

ITunes and compilation albums

I have many compilation albums which i want to add to iTunes, is there a way to accomplish this without spending many hours editing track data to keep each one as a single album. I'd actually like to keep the track data intact and not mess with it at all. Other music organisers can accomplish this without much fuss but unfortunately as i have an iPhone whenever i connect to iTunes for updates any tracks that are not in iTunes get deleted from my device so using another organiser is a pain too.

ITunes and iPhoto issues

When trying to sync my Apple TV and iPhone after the 7.7 update, iTunes will only recognize "Last Import", and "Last 12 Months" folders. It will not show any of my events. When I choose to import all photos and albums, they come over, but all uncategorized.

upon connecting you iphone / apple TV with itunes 7.7, has it frozen itunes? I have got iphoto to work, but the itunes issue persists. Any ideas other that deleting the preferences com.apple stuff or reinstalling itunes?

ITunes and Compilations Folder

When I am importing songs into my Library, I noticed that sometimes iTunes will put the album in a folder with the author's name and sometimes it will put it into a folder called Compilations. In order to keep my songs orderly, I will move the album from Compilations folder to the singer's folder, but then it will not play on iTunes nor can I transfer it to my iPod. Does anyone know why this happens, and what I can do about it?

Since you moved it, iTunes does not know where it is so it cannot play it or sync it.
You should not move anything in the iTunes folder. Let iTunes do it.
In iTunes, selct teh songs/albums, right click - get info.
Click the Options tab and uncheck *Part of compilation*.

Logging into ITunes and update issues

i have just been through the saga of restoring a backup of my 4S phone to my new iPhone 6 Plus - took over a day but using the support community eventually found a way to do it. I then wanted to use Airplay to show a video on my iPhone 6 Plus via my Apple TV - the results were poor and eventually no video would work at all. The Apple TV also reported it was not logged into iTunes. Every attempt to log into ITunes failed. I tried connecting via an Ethernet rather than wifi but it was not the problem. I could see that there was a Apple TV upgrade available so I started to upgrade - nothing happened with no progress bar activity showing and again looked like a failed connection. I persisted with trying and finally just left it 'upgrading' and eventually the progress bar showed the update would take 7 HOURS!
So I left the Apple TV updating and went to bed. This morning I find the Apple TV has updated and logged into ITunes.
IF Apple came clean I am sure they would admit that the IOS 8 upgrade at the same time as introducing new iPhones has this time completely screwed their servers. The problem I had with restoring a backup to my new iPhone I think was mainly the stupid checked box in iTunes for synch all iPhotos to the phone - nearly 8,000 of them!
WHy why on earth did Apple not introduce IOS 8 FIRST then after settling down introduce the new phones. I doubt that Apple will fully recover from this (and bendy phones) adverse publicity and is all down to being too eager to tie everything in with a much publicised conference launch.

ITunes and TotalRecorder issue

After I upgraded to iTunes 7 (bad idea ...), iTunes came up with an error message : "An unknown error occurred (0x666D743F)" and then terminated. (see http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=304318 ). I traced the problem down to the virtual sound driver of my TotalRecorder.
To fix the problem temporarily, I had to change my settings in Windows Control Panel, Quicktime Preferences:
Choose tab "Audio" - click "Select Audio Playback and Recording Devices" and in the opening dialog, on the tab "Audio" in the "Sound Playback" box I had to replace "Playback through TotalRecorder with "SB Live! Wave Device". Now iTunes works, but TotalRecorder is gone.
So now every time I want to switch from iTunes to TR and vice versa, I must change these settings. Must I say, Mr. Jobs, that I am not amused at all. I will try to walk back to iTunes 6 in the next days, unless the smart people at High Criteria (makers of TR) come up with a solutiuon.
I had been warned before, there were similar problems with prior versions of iTunes not playing with TR.
Apparantly Apple doesn't bother about compatibility with the user's software, or do they do this on purpose (e.g. to prevent recording of iTunes songs while playing them)?
They have no right to sabotage my legally acquired software that I use only for legal purposes!

Import packages and Compilation issues

hello,
I am trying to compile and import a package in eclipse but it is not working.
Any helpful links or feedback would be helpful.
In the left pane is package explorer.
I right clicked and imported the apache commons .jar files.
The source .java files are in the same project folder.
On the top navigation in Eclispe the Project Button is not showing the build project accessible.

Your problem is really vague. It´s too generic and visually. Please use technically correct terms. Also please tell what error message exactly you got.
As far it sounds like that you don´t understand how classpaths work and how the Eclipse´s buildpath is related to that.

Itunes and iphone issues

I got the iphone4 and now it turns out i can't connect it to my itunes because i don't have the itunes 10.1 version. I can't get the 10.1 version because i have Mac OS X 10.4.1 and the new version of itunes needs Mac OS X 10.5. How can i get the Mac OS X, so that i can connect to get my music?

Audio and speakers issues with the new iTunes 7

Hi,
I also have an audio problem after installing the new iTunes 7. It seems after iTunes have finished "determining the gapback playback information", all audio from iTunes and Quicktime only comes through my two front speakers. I have a 5.1 setup for my computer and it seems is only a iTunes and Quicktime issue since Windows media plays the audio just fine. Anybody know what the issue could be? I'm on Windows XP by the way.
I have checked my speaker setup and sound card and this problem does not occur in Windows media or any other media software. It seems that it only occurs with iTunes and Quicktime.

Yet another person with the exact same problem, with the same sound card. Everything is up-to-date. I've tried all of the other "fixes" but its either done nothing, or given me use of my rear speakers but added an awful awful ear shattering static. I've tried everything. I even stood on one foot.
Furthermore, my EAX options do not work with iTunes 7 either, though they work with the older versions. I can't even adjust the speaker balance (front to rear, right to left). This is an isolated problem, only with the new iTunes and QuickTime. Everything else on my computer works just dandy, and cooperates with my speakers (5.1 surround) and my EAX settings.
Edited because I said video card, not sound card.. I'm tired, been trying to fix this for an hour.

Hi I had installed apache .2.0.54 rpm and installed oracle-instantclient-basic and oracle-instantclient-devel and compliled php-5.2.4 with the follwoing options
sudo ./configure with-oci8=instantclient,/usr/lib/oracle/10.2.0.3/client/lib/ prefix=/opt/php with-apxs2=/usr/local/apache2/bin/apxs enable-sigchild --with-config-file-path=/etc/httpd/conf
Make gives a error
/usr/bin/ld: skipping incompatible /usr/lib/oracle/10.2.0.3/client/lib//libclntsh.so when searching for -lclntsh
/usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lclntsh

Thx As you told i followed the steps and Compiling issues is resolved and i had some other issue like oci8 extns was not visible in phpinfo.php and after Trial and error its started working.
The reason for oci8 not visible is i httpd-devel was not installed , after installing httpd-devel and recompiling with the following options oci8 was enabled.
./configure \
--with-oci8=instantclient,/opt/instantclient_10_2 \
prefix=/opt/php with-apxs2=/usr/sbin/apxs \
enable-sigchild with-config-file-path=/etc/httpd/conf

The second issue is when I try to select "Manually Manage Music"
The iPhone "My iPhone" is synced with another iTunes libary on "MY-PC". Do you want to erase this iPhone and sync with this iTunes library? An iPhone can be synced with only one iTunes library at a time. Erasing and syncing replaces the contents of this iPhone with the contents of this iTunes library."
So... I don't want to do that, but I do what to be able to Manage my music. I'm not sure what it means by being synced to another iTunes unless it means to an older version of itunes?
Anyone have any ideas?

I cannot address the sync services error right now, but the error that you receive when you change from sync to manually manage music is what happens when you change. Once you change to manually manage music, it erases all of the music and will only put the music that you want on the phone, content that you manually drag over to it. Try updating your QuickTime to the most recent version. Does that clear up the DEP errors in iTunes?
