ITUNES and FINAL CUT stop working same day

In the SAME day- my Itunes decided to stop opening (it does not even ACKNOWLEDGE that I'm trying to open it...), AND when I try to open my Final Cut Pro HD the computer simply says: Final Cut Pro has unexpectedly quit.
Both programs stopped working the same day and I am at a loss:
SOMEBODY PLEASE HELP!!!!

Have you downloaded fresh virus definitions and done a scan lately?

I'm trying to make a photo slide show for a family reunion we had. I downloaded a few songs from itunes to use, and final cut won't let me lay it in the timeline, saying I need to open in itunes. I tried to save it as a quicktime movie and I get the same error.
How do I bring in songs from itunes into final cut so I can make a christmas dvd for the family?

Itunes and Final Cut Pro

I want to use a song I bought from the itunes Music store as a soundtrack for a movie I am cutting on Final Cut Pro. I normally convert the song to AIFF format and then import it into FCP. This does not work with purchased music as it is protected. Can anyone tell me how I get round this...please.

Afaik the only workaround is to burn protected music on
b Audio CD
and then re-import it in whatever format you want.

ITunes and Final Cut Pro 4.5

Everything was fine: OS 10.3.9. G5, Dual Processor. Final Cut Pro 4.5
Updated both iTunes and QuickTime. Trouble! Longer clips wouldn't capture, batch or any method.
So, I go back to QuickTime 6.5.2. That fixes the problem with capturing video clips.
But now, when I try to import my music library CD, I can't. I can do it through iTunes, import into Final Cut, but when I attempt to place it into the Timeline, it shows me 3 tracks...and the red line, as if they were needing to be rendered.
When I play, I get the "beep, beep, beep."
I am bringing them as AIFF files.
Any help?

You can use QuickTime to convert the CD's audio tracks (AIF, 44.1khz, 16 bit) into AIF, 48khz, 16 bit.
If you want to use iTunes for this, set the correct audio sampling rate (48khz) in iTunes' preferences.

Tried to update iphone via itunes and now all stopped working

So, after some issues with drivers over the weekend, I decided today to finally update iphone.
Attached phone to laptop, started upgrade.
Now it has completely frozen with the itunes icon on the screen alongwith a usb cable.
According to itunes the phone is in recovery mode and needs to be restored prior to anything else.
But it simply won't do anything. It has lost and since found the driver again, itunes is working, phone is frozen.
Apparently the best driver is installed.
Going to work now, so will check in later.

You will have to restore. If the option is there or available forst back up your device to itunes. After the backup is complete you may backup from restore. This will restore your device whilst at the same time keepin all of your previous data. nothing will be wiped off.

Final Cut stopped working

Around X-mas, I upgraded the OS to Leopard and had a long list of problems, so reverted to Tiger.
Ever since, when I try to start a new project in FCE, or load a previous project that I captured using HDV - Apple Intermediate Codec 1080i60 I get an error message saying "Codec not found. You may be using a compression type without the corresponding hardware card."
I trashed FCE and re-installed from disk. Not fixed. I trashed QuickTime and re-installed and updated to 7.4.1, but that has not solved the problem.
What am I missing?

When you trashed FCE did you just delete the application icon or did you do it properly like this:-

If you don't uninstall everything you may leave behind corrupted files that ruin subsequent installations.

Capturing in Logic 8 and Final Cut at the same time.

Does anyone know if it is possible to use Logic 8 to capture the audio while HD video is captured in FCS 2? The reason, I have 20-30 channels of audio and have to do a live audio mix as I record which is not possible in FCP. Do I need to have 2 computers to do this? How would I sync the two machines?

You'll need two computers for this. Capturing HD video is very taxing on your CPU.
If you capture timecode on both the audio & the video files, syncing the actual machines shouldn't be necessary. The files will lock up later when you put them together.

PCI cards, iMac and Final Cut Express HD

I recently bought Final Cut Express HD for my iMac and I was pretty sure that i met all the requirements. It will not install and keeps crashing on my computer. I need some help. I look under my mac hardware and I have listed under graphics ATY,RadeonX1600 and quartz extreme is supported. There is also under Bus: PCIe. Final Cut Express HD requires an AGP or PCI Express graphics card compatible with Quartz Extreme. I do not know this technical stuff. I need help please. 1. Does my computer match this already? 2. if not what do i need to get to make this work?
My iMac is an early 2006 one of the first intel core computers with a 1.83ghz if that helps at all.

How much RAM you got in that puppy? I'm not sure if the first Intel Macs came w/ 512 RAM but if they did you might need to upgrade in order for it to run properly. I would make sure you had at least a gig and try the re-installation techniques as suggested. Tiger by itself needs at least 512 and Final Cut requires the same so RAM might very well be the issue. I personally re-install from the OS up when I get a new version of software and this is especially true when upgrading from a PPC to Universal app. and I do this all after zeroing out and refomatting the drive if it hasn't been done yet (when I first received the computer).

I have hp laptop dv9009us one day all the USB ports and webcam camera stopped working, I had windows XP and tried all solutions posted on online forums didn’t work, I upgraded to windows 7 and still not working, please note that the USB is detected in device manger and it says working properly but he webcam is not detected at all, also when I connect any device to USB it gives it power and I even can charge my cell phone but it doesn’t detect any device. Is there any genius out there that can help me?
Also after I installed windows 7 I went o system information----software environment--- system drivers, and I found all USB drivers stopped by the way this was the case in windows XP as well

I've been working on this all day!!! I've tried everything I know of and can't get it to load either. Sounds like lots of people are having problems. Here is what I have so far...I have uninstalled EVERYTHING on my pc from apple and reinstalled itunes to no avail. I have tried all sorts of things I've read as fixes online. NOTHING has worked. Here is something interesting that i have noticed though. my main pc (which is the one i have always managed my itunes account with for years) is a 32 bit system running windows 7. Yesterday I installed itunes for the first time on my new netbook which is a 64 bit (windows 7) system and it works just fine. i have three other laptops (all window 7) in my household that are all 64 bit operating systems and ALL have updated to 10.5 and THEY ALL work fine. this is FOUR 64 bit systems ALL updated w/10.5 that work and ONE that is a 32 bit that will not. Can't get any help from apple. their suppot *****! I want to get someone on the **** phone or a live chat but cant. *** APPLE????? please let mw know if you find SOMETHING i can try next. I'm out of ideas and patience!

Im in 79707. So to recap my whole case: I upgraded my device using the verizon wireless website. I received my phone and switched my old SIM card from my Droid Razr Maxx HD into the new Galaxy S5. Everything worked fine until the next morning (May 31st) when I woke up and the phone wouldn't turn on. I took the phone to the local Verizon store and they were also unable to turn it on. They issued me a new Galaxy S5 (referred to as phone 2) and switched my SIM card into that one.
With PHONE 2 i was able to make calls and receive calls, along with text and data for approximately four hours. After that, i was unable to use the phone function of the device, but text and data were still functioning. I took PHONE 2 back to the Verizon store where they attempted to hard reset the phone twice, they also installed two new SIM cards at the store. After this they would get the same error, which is the phone just reading "Dialing..." after attempting to make a call. The Verizon associate declared the phone "DOA" and issued me another Galaxy S5 (referred to as PHONE 3).
PHONE 3 worked well, with phone text and data featured intact from when I received it on the after noon of the 31st until approximately 2:30PM on June 1st. I contacted Verizon Tech Support via Gmail phone to attempt the correct the problem. They reset the connection, had me do a battery pull, had me close the "phone" application, and erase the data and catche, then restart the phone. All of which had no effect. My phone is still able to receive texts and use data (even with wifi off) it simply cannot make or take phone calls. all it says is "dialing..." when I attempt to make a call. When other phones call my device it rings once on their end and directs them to voicemail, PHONE 3 does not ring on my end.
I have made sure my old phone is completely powered down.

I'm new to working with soundtrack and final cut simultaneously?

I have to edit a documentary in the coming week for a project. I want to use soundtrack pro alongside final cut pro. Could someone put simply the process of the two working together? for audio connected to video clips in final cut, is the only way to automate these with final cut?
using the "send to soundtrack" in final cut, only exports the video so it leaves me only being able to enhance the project by adding new sounds. is it possible to edit the sound files in final cut by using soundtrack pro?
without exporting every sound individually and re-importing...thank you. im new to this so that might be a stupid question. i apologise if so

1. Finish your project in Final Cut with rough sound. Lock your picture.
2. Select your sequence, and "Send to" Soundtrack Pro as a multitrack project.
3. Finish your audio.
4. Export whichever splits you want from Soundtrack as AIFFs. You can export the whole mixed soundtrack, or vox and mix minus, or whatever you prefer.
5. Duplicate your finished sequence in Final Cut. Delete all audio. Import your finished mix(es) into Final Cut, and overwrite-edit them into the timeline.
6. Export your finished movie.
Soundtrack Pro and Final Cut Pro really aren't meant to be used together, per se. Rather, the workflow goes from Final Cut as a multitrack project and then back to Final Cut as AIFFs.

Follow these steps to log into your iCloud account on your computer and deactivate "Find my iPhone" on your device:
Remove an iOS device or Mac on which you can’t turn off Find My iPhone
If you can’t turn off Find My iPhone on the device, turn off the device so it goes offline, then remove it from Find My iPhone on iCloud.com.
Note: You can also remove your iOS device by first erasing it—just follow the instructions below for removing an iOS device you don’t have. You can later restore the device from an iCloud or iTunes backup.
Turn off the device you want to remove.

When the device is erased, click Remove from Account.All your content is erased, and someone else can now activate the device.

HT4437 Can't get iTunes and monitor mirroring to work at the same time.

When I turn on my airplay on itunes it turns off the airplay from my monitor. I don't know how I've done it before but I sometimes can't play itunes and have it mirror my screen at the same time so I can use the visualizer. Whenever I turn one on, the other shuts off. I've done it before. Is there a specific sequence you need to run itunes and have the mirroring work too?

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try another cable
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.
