Itunes and Iphone sync issues

Hi There,
So I have a slight problem and would be grateful if someone would shed some light as to how I can overcome this.
I have an iPhone 5 and iTunes for windows, however, I have not downloaded the current software for the iPhone 5 as I do no have any storage space for it. I have recently tried to update my iPhone's music playlist but the playlist I want to sync is not, however, my old music and playlists keep syncing instead, and it keeps adding albums.In my new playlist I have approx 200ish songs whereas my iTunes is syncing over 700ish (and I've made sure I have not clicked and synced my library- my library has over 1000 so not sure where its syncing 700) I have tried several times to fix this by;
switching off phone
closing iTunes and opening it again
creating a different playlist and re-syncing music
de-selecting albums and artists manually
de-selecting all music then syncing
created a different playlist
and none of the above have worked at all
It would be much appreciated if anyone has any advice or guidance as to how I can fix this, as I have new music I want to listen to, and with this new music I'll have more storage space!
Thanks in advance!

Hi R@chel,
It sounds as if you are having difficulty making sure your iPhone only gets the music you want. In order to do this, you need to manually manage the data that gets synced to your iPhone. This article explains how to do so -

Syncing manually
If you prefer not to automatically sync content to your device, you can set up manual syncing:
Connect your device to your computer and open iTunes.
Click the Devices button in the upper-right corner. (If you're viewing the iTunes Store, click the Library button in the upper-right corner. The Devices button will appear.)
In the main iTunes browser window, select the Summary tab.
Select the option to Manually manage music and videos or Manually manage music. This will deselect the automatic sync settings for the Music, Movies, and TV Shows tabs.
Click Apply.
And -
After following the steps above, you can add individual songs, videos, and playlists from iTunes to your device. To add content to your device:
Select your device.
Click On this Device.
Choose Add to in the upper-right corner. If you drag a song, video, TV show, or movie while viewing the media in your iTunes library, a sidebar will show up on the right. You can drag your content onto the device. You can also create and modify playlists directly on the device.

  • Intel and IPhone Sync issues

Some forwarded this to me. It might be relevant to some users here.

Intel has issued a comment concerning the iPhone sync issues some users are experiencing with certain PCs containing a specific Intel chipset. “Our leading theory is a BIOS or system configuration issue, but we are still investigating,” Intel said. The basic input/output system (BIOS) is the boot firmware run by a PC on startup, which identifies, tests, and initializes core system devices such as the graphics card, hard disk, and other hardware. As we reported earlier this week, the syncing issue appears to linked to Intel’s P55 Express chipset and its USB controller, which leaves the afflicted machines able to recognize the iPhone but unable to sync. The problem has been most prevalent among PCs running 64-bit Windows 7, but the issue has also been reported on machines running both 32-bit and 64-bit versions of both Windows 7 and Vista."

  • Ical and iphone syncing issues

I'll pile on with my own iphone/ical sync issue, to add to all the others i see.
my iphone and ical synched just fine from the start, but since installing software updates, suddenly the calendar on iphone will not accept any new information.
originally, i'd set up my entourage to sync to ical, and in turn 'sync' to iphone, but to test if this runaround was the problem, i've followed some of the other instructions laid out elswhere on this board to set up a test calendar on ical.
this hasn't worked either. nor will the iphone calendar accept any new info when i explicitly direct the itunes software to replace info.
i've also tried resetting everything, but those stubborn pre-software update calendar items remain on my iphone, completely unchanged.
    anyone have any ideas?

The same thing happened to me. As of today's update (11/16) I got to the root of the problem. go into itunes with iphone connected. select information, and if your problem is mine, you will see that all ical and mailbox synching options are now strangely unchecked. check the boxes for what you want to synch. click apply. for an unknown reason, the software update then reveals that it thinks your phone is synching to another account. just keep clicking through, selecting synching with your computer and "new" account. ditto for the keychain issues. presto! it all synchs correctly again.
    hope this helps!

  • Itunes and ipad sync issues

I synced my ipad to itunes.  Now my ipad has a black screen with teh itunes logo and sync cord.  I tried turning it on and off but I still have the error message.
    Help

Sounds like it reset. Have you tried re-syncing? I find sometimes I have to turn off the computer and re-sync without doing anything else.

  • MacBook (iTunes) and iPhone 5 Issues

This is not an actual question, though a complaint for Apple to know how dull their products can become over time. I've purchased my iPhone 5 (and then replaced it over the screen issues one year ago) and my MacBook Pro (13', late 2011, 2,8 Ghz) is just getting worse and worse in its overall performance (with Mavericks in particular).
One of my biggest complains is that music doesn't sync to my iPhone properly over WiFi. Since we live in 2014 for me it is very inconvenient to sync music via cable. Therefore I sync my music rarely (although I'd do it on the daily basis if not the issues I experienced so far) using a very inconvenient method of deleting all music from last sync and syncing the new music onto iPhone.
Macbook is another story. Since it was purchased three years ago I can't believe how such expensive laptop can't stand by its name. Everything became much more slower with Mavericks (start up of the system, app loading and etc.) Particularly iTunes is a nightmare - sometimes it can't see the device over the internet and always cancelling the sync when I'm uploading my music.
This is general complaint, not a question. I'm sorry for my english.

if this phone has never been jailbroken or hacked, try these steps as needed:
    1. Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings
    2. Get new SIM card from AT&T
    3. Get new cable and charger from Apple
    4. Restore iOS using iTunes, also restoring a backup
    5. Restore iOS using iTunes as a new phone, without restoring a backup
Use iTunes to restore your iOS device to factory settings
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
If restoring as new doesn't help, there's a hardware problem that needs evaluation by Apple or an Apple authorized service provider.

  • ITunes and iPad syncing issues?

I have songs that appear on my ipad (show iCloud songs is turned off so only songs on my ipad appear) but these songs do not appear when I connect the ipad to my computer when I view what music is on my ipad in iTunes. Same for several music videos. I am basically out of space on my ipad and I can't delete the music from my ipad. There were some songs I could delete by swiping, but the rest I can't delete. Because they don't show up in iTunes  I don't know what to do. I have reset and the ipad is running iOS7.1.  I appreciate any help!

The ipad will sync itunes content and pics from one and only one computer at a time.  When you sync to another it will indeed erase the current content from the ipad and replace with content from the new computer.
You need to copy everything from your old computer or your backup copy of the old computer to the new one.

  • Itunes and Iphone Sync Launches Camera Software (windows XP)

Hi, I noticed a month or so ago, after an ITUNES update that when I sync my phone the computer launches a window asking which program I want to use to look at the camera! There is no listing for "Do Nothing" as typically seen in such pop ups.
I was hoping this bug would just disappear with newer versions of Itunes, but it's still there.
    Any ideas?
    Mike

Select the iPod in Windows Explorer.
    Right click - properties.
    Click the Autoplay tab.
Tick *Select an action to perform* and select *Take no action*.

  • IPhone Sync issue (and album art messed up)

Whenever I sync my iPhone with iTunes, instead of just updating the media I have changed, it will randomly add anywhere between 30 to 300 songs that were already on my iPhone. It doesn't cause any problems with using the iPhone other then the fact that it takes a really long time to sync even when I don't change anything or add new media to sync with the iPhone.
    So far I have:
-made sure I have the latest updates of iTunes and all software
    -re-set iSync
    -done an archive and install
-had a genius appointment at the Genius Bar at the Apple Store and
    -they replaced my iPhone
...but my problems still exist. And on top of that, all of the album artwork on the iPhone is jumbled up. It looks fine in cover flow, but when I switch to the normal mode it will be the wrong artwork with the wrong song. My album artwork in itunes is not jumbled up, but all of the artwork for the movies and tv shows I have bought and downloaded from the iTunes Store has disappeared and I can't get it back by searching for album artwork.
So, to recap, my 3 main problems are.
    1) iPhone Sync issue
    2) Album artwork jumbled up on iPhone
    3) TV Show and Movie artwork disappearing on iTunes
If anyone can help your time would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much.
    Andrew

  • HT1386 Because of limited internet on my iphone 5, i download updates to apps thru ITunes and then sync them to my iphone.  Lately, the apps download properly and the sync seems to go thru, but on my phone, they keep saying they are updating and it never

Because I have limited internet package on my att iphone 5, I update apps on my computer thru ITunes and then sync them to my phone.  The downloads seems to go thru and then install.  But when I turn on my phone, the affected apps continue to say they are updating and it never goes away.  I do not have wifi but when I am connected, the apps don't update.  Help!!!!

Oh my gosh I had the EXACT same problem, and for ages I couldn't figure out how to fix it until today. Here's what I did:
First I went onto my computer, opened itunes, and un-installed tumblr, vine and kik. These were the apps I was having problems with (it said I had them on my phone but, like you, they didn't show).
Then I went to the itunes store, searched for each one, and it said I could update them so I did (just FYI: for tumblr a window popped up saying "please click ok to confirm you are 17 years or older", so I did that also)
When I went back to my phone and tried installing them again (still on my computer), it worked!
I hope this helps, because it was incredibly frustrating. Good luck!

  • Sync session failed to start with itunes and iphone 5

sync session failed to start with itunes and iphone 5

    Restart your computer
While your computer is restarting, clear all of the applications from the background on your iPhone. You can do this by pushing the home button twice and swiping the programs off the screen by pushing them upwards.
After you are done doing that, restart your phone.
Wait about 10 seconds or so and turn your phone back on. By the time you get your phone back on your computer should be completly restarted and ready to go.
When your phone is back on, plug it into your computer. This should automatically bring up your Itunes, you may get another pop up that says autoplay, you can close that out. That's it. I hope it helps and good luck

Have you copied your content over from your old computer and onto the new on ? If not, and you still have your old computer, then there a number of methods described on this page which you can use to copy your library over : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4527 . If you no longer have your old computer then have you got a backup of your content that you can copy onto the new computer and add into iTunes ?

  • I had my ipod touch and iphone synced to itunes on my computer that just bit the dust...If I don't replace the computer, can I still add stuff to these two devices?

I had my ipod touch and iphone synced to itunes on my PC and basically managed my photos and music, etc. from there.  However recently my computer died and I am considering replacing it with an ipad eventually.  Can I still add stuff onto my two devices?  And if so, am I limited to apple store purchases only?  Can I retain all the photos and non-apple store downloaded music that is presently on these two devices?  Any guidance in this area will be very welcome!
