ITunes and Keyboard backilght

A bizarre behaviour.
Hitting the spacebar to stop iTunes playing turn off the keyboard backlight...
iTunes 9.0.2 (25)
Now what?

Create another user account for testing only and try it there....if it works ok there, you know there is something specific to your original user account - check that all 3rd. party software and plug-ins are fully compatible with Snow Leopard.

  • ITunes and keyboard backlight issues

Hi, i know that this question has been asked before, but was not answered, so ill try again to see if anyone has a solution.
When using iTunes, if i skip forward or backward a track, using either the iTunes GUI or the function buttons (F7 and F9) the back light on the keyboard will turn off completely. The only way, it seems, to turn the back light is to press the back light keys, which can be annoying to find when im working in the dark.
(also, strangely, when i press skip back once, ie restart currently playing track, the keys do not turn off, it is only when the track changes :s )
    Thanks

I AM HAVING THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM! I recently downloaded iSpazz but I didn't like it and deleted the plug-in. Ever since then, my backlight has been turning off every time I change songs in iTunes. I have deleted the iTunes App completely, and all its related files and reinstalled it from scratch.. And still NOTHING! It is frustrating the **** out of me. Although it is only a minor problem, it is rather annoying! PLEASE help us!

  • My iPad does not have sound when on the Internet, including YouTube, but does have sound with iTunes and other apps.  How can I correct this?

My iPad does not have sound when on the Internet, including YouTube, but does have sound with iTunes and other apps.  How can I correct this?

If you are sure that you have sound in other apps - and if you can still hear keyboard clicks and get notifications, then system sounds are not muted. Try this and see if it works.
Close all apps completely and reboot the iPad.
Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the recents tray will appear with all of your recent apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

  • Ive had a lap top from a friend, she cleared everything off it but ive downloaded itunes and all her music has appeared in the itunes library. How can i delete her music from the itunes library?

ive got a laptop from a friend, she cleared everything off it. ive downloaded itunes and for some reason all her music has appeared in the library. How do i delete her music from the itunes libary so i can add my own music?

In iTunes, select the music you want to delete (⌘+a to select all) and hit Delete on your keyboard.
Also delete the music files in Finder. Also make sure you have your own Apple ID and iTunes account and logged in.

  • Mouse and keyboard both stop working

I've had my imac for about 3 years.  I am currently running Mac OS X 10.6.7.  In the past six months this problem started, I was using an ergonomic MS keyboard (USB) and mouse (wireless) but then I have removed both MS devices and the problem has not gone away since plugging in my apple keyboard and optical mouse.  I have tried using different usb ports and the problem still occurs.  The problem happens when I leave my mac unattended for 10+ mins I come back and cannot use the mouse to click or select anything* and also cannot type with the keyboard.  I have tried unplugging and plugging in again to the usb ports.  I listen to music on itunes and leave the mac on as a stereo then want to use it to pick another song - no it won't let me do that either (other than use the skip, pause or play buttons).  *If I'm lucky the mouse will let me select the apple then select restart or shutdown - however more often than not I have to reset by the button on the back of my mac as the mouse is not responding.  I don't overload the machine with a lot as I only use 3 applications (safari, itunes and sometimes outlook for mac).
What I find most interesting is that I can sit and constantly use the mac for hours on end - as long as I don't stop using the mouse or keyboard.  Inactivity over 10 mins begins the issue.  At the moment I can make it stay for a while by putting the machine to sleep and then waking it up but this doesn't help when I want to listen to music.
I have searched long and hard all over the net on how to fix this problem and it appears I am not alone.  I am hoping someone can help me please.  We have tried other apple accessories from other machines we have at home without any luck.
    Hoping someone can help me.

Could you say the keyboard and mouse model, please? That could help track the problem.

  • ITunes and Computer freezes when ipod is connected

When I connect my video ipod to my computer (dell desktop) the system freezes, as in it will not respond to mouse clicks and keyboard (but can still get to task manager). When I unplug the ipod it comes back to life. Programs always freeze, but sometimes I am able to navigate within windows without it freezing, but as soon as a program is brought up, my computer falls to its knees.
I have the latest version of iTunes, and updater v. 1.1, (but I have not been able to update the firmware yet from v 1.0).
The odd thing is last night I was able to download several gigs worth of music to it without incident. I then tried to load movies (they were in the wrong format, but I didn't know it at the time), and so in an effort to correct that I uninstalled itunes, the ipod drivers, and the ipod updater programs several times.
I cannot update the ipod firmware because the computer freezes when the ipod is plugged in, so the program freezes as well. Kind of a catch 22 situation.
I have been over the forums and help archives for about an hour and a half now and I have come up dry.
Windows XP does recognize the ipod when the cable is connected, and the ipod flashes, "Do not disconnect", which it is supposed to do.
I suspect this is drivers/software, but I have no idea where to go from here.
    Help?

    Hey!
That EXACT thing happened to me! 2 nights ago I'm downloading like crazy, all is well. I got on LimeWire and downloaded some videos and tried to put them on my iPod. Imported them into iTunes then tried to put em on my iPod and it completely wiped out all my songs! So I get back on, put the songs back in, and about half way through the update the thing freezes. I've re-installed everything, and have reset my iPod. Did you figure out what to do? Maybe your fix will fix my problem, too.
    Thank you!

  • IPod not showing up in iTunes and have done every thing in Suport

I ve just bought a 5th gen ipod with video yesterday . installed the new itunes and set it up , but every time i connected the iPpod it kept saying it was corupted and needed to be restored or try another USB port ...
I did all that about 7/8 times and still nothing , so I re-installed every thing again and reste the pc and low and behold it started to work (so I know that it can work on my pc )
so I ejected the iPod and when I went to plug it in again it came back up with the iPod is corupted and now it shows up in windows but not in iTunes any more and Ive followed all the suports addvice and now just dont know what esle to do.
    Can some one help ?

Connect your iPod to a rear port on your computer then connect your keyboard and mouse. Disconnect ALL other USB devices including printers, external hard drives, modems, printers, scanners, incense burners, cameras, etc. and disconnect from any network you might be on. Now give your iPod a much higher drive letter such as M or P or Z: http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=2369954#2369954

  • TS3048 I am usng a bluetooth keyboard with my Mac and some of the keys are not working.  They are the numbers 1 through  9.  I have gone through the troubleshooting for mouse and keyboard and everything looks good. How can I get them to work again?

Hi,  I am using a Mac computer that my husband set up.  I have worked on it recently with no problems.  Today, I am having problems with the bluetooth keyboard not  working properly.  The numbers 1 through 9 do not work.  I have gone through troubleshooting wireless mouse and keyboard issues and everything looks good.  Except, when I check the keys on the keyboard viewer, these keys still do not work.  The webpage guides me through and at this point I do not know what to do next, because the keyboard is still not working properly.  I sure hope there are some experienced people in the community to help me.  What should I do?

    Hi:
I wish my suggestion had gotten you further.
I do suggest you try to connect the keyboard again.  The request for a number is a step in it trying to pair.  If it gets by the number, it sometimes takes a little while to get connected.  If you are unable to get it connected and want a new one, I have been using Apple Bluetooth keyboards for years - and I like them. The one I have (the newest model) only uses two batteries and is very thin.
Speaking of batteries, if you are not already doing so, you might consider rechargeables.  I have a drawer full of them and use a 15 minute charger.  I go tired of buying batteries and rechargeables are environmentally friendly to boot. At the moment, I use 2450 mAh Energizers and a 15 minute Energizer charger (all purchased new on eBay at a very reasonable price).
I am far from an iPad "expert," although I have one.  If my suggestion below does not help, post your question in a separate thread in the iPad forum.
I had a terrible time syncing my iCal on my Mac with my iPad iCal (confusing - hopefully it makes sense).  I quit using iCloud as that added to the confusion. There is a facility to one-time sync items.  When you connect your computer to your iPad, iTunes opens.  The system begins a process (automatic backup and so on). After it finishes, you can click on "info."  At the bottom of the screen, there is an advanced section.  You can select any of the items and then force it to sync. The iCal information from your computer would be deposited on the iPad.
After all that, I do not use a Google calendar so the information may be worthless to you.
If you want to reset the iPad to factory settings, you can do that when it is connected to iTunes (one of the options).  Me being me, I try never to erase anything.

updated to ios6 on my ipod touch 4g when i try to turn it on it doesn't, it just comes up with the itunes symbol and the usb, so i plugged into laptop opened itunes and it says to restore back to ios5 i pressed restore and it cant connect to server? help?

Maunally restore it. In order to do this:
-Download the iOS 5.1.1 firmware from here  http://www.redmondpie.com/download-5.1.1-ios-for-iphone-4s-4-3gs-ipad-ipod-touch -direct-official-links/
    1. After downloading the firmware from the given link, open iTunes and click on your device.
    2. Now press SHIFT on your keyboard and while pressing it click on "Restore".
    3. A dialog box will appear.
    4. Select the firmware you downloaded and click ok.
    5. Done!!! Your iPhone will now be restored to 5.1.1 and if you had backed up your iPod before, then you can put all its settings afterwards.

  • System Preferences, itunes and safari not working. Please Help?

Whenever i click on system preferences whether it be in the applications folder or in the dock, the window doesn't show. my system preferences is partly working because the very top menu bar with the little apple sign changes its menus to suit what system preferences has like system preferences written next to the little apple.
its the same with my itunes and my safari.
my menu bar changes when i click on itunes and if i press the play button on my keyboard i can hear music but no windows are coming up
the menu bars change as if the applications are open but no windows are coming up.
if anybody has any idea as to why its doing this and how i can fix it, please tell me.

Are you showing an signal when the SIM is inserted into the iPhone? Making calls and sending/receiving messages are two different things. Calls use the cellular side of things, messages uses data. I'm surprised that is all T-Mobile would do to check out your account is to test your SIM. What if they look at your account, is it provisioned correctly?
You can try to reset the phone. Hold the sleep/wake and home buttons together until you see the Apple logo. The phone will reboot. See if it works. If not, try to reset network settings. Go to Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings. The phone will reboot. Check they if it is working. If not, then you can make an appointment with the Genius Bar at the Apple store, but I still lean heavily that the problem is with the carrier.

  • I have ipod classic (about 3 yrs old) and when recharging, everything on it is gone.  When I tried copying the saved/backup items, itunes and ipod were stuck...doing nothing/frozen.  Help!

I have an ipod classic which I had bought about 3 years ago.  I plugged it into my computer this past weekend to charge and it showed me that there were nothing on it...no music, no movies, no photos, nada.  I had updated the program on my computer and when I tried to reload all the stuff that I had saved, it locks up my itunes and ipod.  It doesn't do anything!  I don't know what is going on....Help!?  Anyone!?  Any clues?

Which version of iTunes are you using? (most probably the latest, a lot of this hung iTunes coming in)
Which iPod software is shown on the iTunes summary screen?
    My suggestion go on Diskmode.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1363?viewlocale=en_US
Connect it to iTunes via a USB2.0 port (For Mac please dont use the Keyboard USB port and for MB, only one USB port is for iPod, the other will freeze your iTunes as the resource bus is shared with other devices )
Then update the iPod software or Restore the iPod.
Try to disconnect your iPod from the PC, if you are not charging or Syncing the iPod, or else, some Apps will just trigger a Restore and delete you iPod.
For Mac users, who has a FAT32 iPod, you may find iTunes Restoring it to HPS+ if you leave it connected overnight.
For Windows users, some Winsock layer conflict with iTunes will trigger the Restore.
    Good Luck!

    Hello there, LaruaGalliers.
The following Knowledge Base article provides some great troubleshooting steps for your issue:
iPhone and iPod touch: Charging the battery
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1476
    Particularly:
    Battery does not charge
Verify that the outlet being used is working.
Try another USB power adapter if available.
If no other USB power adapter is available, try connecting to a high-power USB 2.0 port (not a keyboard). The computer must be turned on and not in sleep or standby mode.
Try another USB cable if available.
iPhone or iPod touch displays the low-battery image and is unresponsive
If you see the image below, charge the iPhone or iPod touch with USB power adapter for at least 15 minutes.
You should see this image when iPhone or iPod touch begins to charge:
If the screen still displays the low-battery icon, try turning the iPhone or iPod touch off and then on again.
If the issue persists, follow these troubleshooting steps.
Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities.
    Cheers,
    Pedro.
