ITunes and Lightroom 5

Does Lightroom 5 work with iTunes on a Apple computer?

There are many ways to put Lightroom photos on an iPhone. It doesn't work exactly like Aperture and iPhoto do, because Aperture, iPhoto, and iPhone are all made by Apple so Apple ties them together tightly. But you can still do it easily.
If you have the Lightroom app on your iPhone and a Creative Cloud subscription, you can simply sync any Lightroom collection to LIghtroom on the iPhone.
But for years before Lightroom existed on iPhone, I've put Lightroom photos on my iPhone by going into iTunes and changing iTunes photo sync from iPhoto to a folder on my Mac. I would then export photos from Lightroom into that folder, and the next time I synced my iPhone, the image files show up in the Photos app on the iPhone.
Others do something easier: They set up a Lightroom Publish Service to the folder iTunes is set to sync photos with, so that manual exporting isn't even needed. Just by adding photos to the Publish Service, they will be transferred to the iPhone during the next sync.

  • I am planning on buying an Ipod classic to replace my old ipod nano, i am wondering if when i buy it can i plug it straight into my itunes and will everything be transferred from my nano, or will it delete everything? songs etc...

I am planning on purchasing an ipod classic to replace my old ipod nano. I am just wondering if i am able to plug it in to my itunes, and everthing will be transferred onto the classic simply? Or will it automatically delete all my songs as it will not recognise the classic? Also, will it inform me what to do when i plug the classic in, to set it up?

If you want to have the photos stored on an external HD, you probably should move them there in your operating system before you import into Lightroom.
But, if you don't yet own an external HD, you can import from the internal hard drive and later move the photos to wherever you want them to be, as long as you do it properly.

  • Itunes match has removed my playlists from itunes and my iphone. Not only that, many of the songs 'matched' on itunes do not show up on my iphone. Seriously annoyed, wish I'd never paid for it

Please read the title; itunes match has removed my playlists on itunes and iphone and the songs that are supposedly 'matched' on itunes are not showing up on my iphone.
    Any Really annoyed about this

iTunes Match does not have the ability to remove local files.
The service operates by comparing the selected iTunes Library with the iTunes Store content and 'matching' or 'uploading' - it is very straightforward a 'match' provides equivalent access to iTunes Store content as a recognised 'purchase'; upload simply copies a 256k AAC variant into the cloud.  There are no elements of this activity that can erase the local library content.
Would suggest you explore possible alternative causes of file loss.  Given the pattern described of selective deletion, leaving many Songs intact - would suggest making at least 2 secure offline Song file backups and starting the library again from a fresh install of iTunes once a thorough sweep of the system has been completed for virus.  It is also worth assessing the physical security of the system - who has access & with what privileges.
To access Songs from the cloud, you would have to manually delete the Song from the library or open an empty library - so even when accessing content, iTunes Match provides no local deletion capability.

  • Problem with iTunes and/or updater software??

I just bought a brand new 30gig iPod video. I followed apple's "instructions" and installed iTunes and the iPod software off of the included cd. I then connected my iPod and it charged but itunes never recognized it. Windows can find it (it appears as an external disk drive in my computer and iPod in other places) but iTunes doesn't recognize it at all. I have tried resetting the iPod, uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes/ipod software using the install cd, i have tried downloading the latest software from apples website and installing it that way, I have tried everything but restoring the ipod because the updater software won't even work. every time I try to use it, it just says "Service Error". I really have no idea what to do. The iPod seems to work fine, it turns on, turns off, windows seems to recognize it, but iTunes won't recognize the iPod and the iPod updater software doesn't seem to work at all. The last thing I am going to try is wiping my computer harddrive (it needs it for other reasons, not just this iPod problem) and starting completely fresh with nothing or very little installed besides iTunes and the iPod software.

The article posted in the first response is a great place to start. If that doesn't work, try these out as well:

  • I am trying to put the music from my ipod onto my new computer. After installing itunes and connecting my ipod touch a message comes up saying that my ipod is already synced with another library. What can I do to sync it with a new library?

I recently got a new computer and got rid of my old one. I am trying to put the music from my ipod touch onto my new computer but keep getting a message saying that my ipod is already synced with a library and cannot be synced with more than one. How do I access that library on my new computer and if I can't are their other ways for me to put the music on my ipod into my new computer?

Syncing to a new iTunes library or computer will erase your ipod. Only if you back up your iPod manually before syncing, you can restore your device from that backup again. A manual backup does not include the sync process.
Disable autosync in iTunes, connect your iPod to your new computer and right click on it in the device list and choose backup. iTunes will backup your ipod without syncing.
Transfer your purchases the same way, choosing "transfer purchases" this time.
When you connect your iPod for the first time, all media content will be erased. But you can restore your settings and app data from your manual backup afterwards.
Don't forget to set up at least one contact and event on your new computer to be able to merge calendars and contacts when you sync the ipod for the first time.
Music is one way only, from the computer to your device, unless you bought the songs in itunes and transferred your purchases.
There is 3rd party software out there, but not supported by Apple, see this thread:http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2013615&tstart=0

  • Is it possible for two people to use one iMac with iPhone and iPad separate iTunes and iCloud acc?

Apologies if this is a very obvious question. I have one iMac that my husband and I use, he has an iPhone that he syncs with the iMac via iTunes for app such as docs to go. I recently purchased an iPad, I want to also sync with the iMac. Is it possible to use two iTunes and two iCloud acc to one iMac? We would like to pick and choose what we sync as we keep separate docs etc on the iMac, can this be done?

Yes.  Just set up your own account in System Preferences > Accounts (User &groups in Mountain Lion).  You'll have your own seperate everything including mail.

  • Is there a way that iTunes can act as a Radio Alarm Clock? I have found the radio station I enjoy listening to in the iTunes Radio List. Is there anyway iTunes (and my Mac) can be set to come-on and start playing that Radio Station from Sleep mode at spec

Is there a way that iTunes can act as a Radio Alarm Clock?
I have found the radio station I enjoy listening to in the iTunes Radio List. Is there anyway iTunes (and my Mac) can be set to come-on from Sleep mode and start playing that Radio Station at specific times of the day?
Any App or plug-in that does that?
    Many thanks
    Kevin

Turning your Mac into a clock radio.
    1.  In iTunes create a playlist that contains just the radio station you want to wake up to.
    2.  Export the playlist (as .m3u works well).  Get Info on your playlist file and look at the Open With entry to make sure it points to iTunes, VLC or some other app that will stream your station.
    3.  In iCal create an event entry at the time you want to wake up.
    4.  Right (or Control) click on your wakeup event and select Get Info.
    5.  For "alarm" select Open File.
    6.  Now under Open File there will be a place to add the file to open.  It will probably be some default entry (like iCal).  Click on it will allow you to select "other."  Then use the file dialog to select your playlist file.
Your Mac will wake you up at the appointed time.  You don't need to keep iCal running.  If you want to put you Mac to sleep for the night then there is one more thing you need to do.  Open System Preferences to Energy Saver and click on the Schedule button.  Check Start up or wake and set the wake up time to slightly before your iCal alarm time.

  • On my ipad 2 I can't "see" the hundreds of spoken audio tracks that are in my itunes and on my ipod touch. Is there something I didn't do during sync up?

On my ipad 2 I can't "see" the hundreds of spoken audio tracks that are in my itunes and on my ipod touch. Is there something I didn't do during sync up? The tracks are from voice recordings that were downloaded from an extrernal drive and weren't necessarily tagged as spoken audio. Do I need to go back into itunes and relabel these tracks so they will show up on my ipad2?
Thanks in advance for your help!

With the iPad connected to the computer, while iTunes is running, click on the iPad name on the left side under devices. Click on the Movies tab and look for Movie Rentals. You want to "Move" the films to the iPad.
