Itunes and Mail Installing on startup

Upon startup, Itunes 7.0.2 and mail will install themselves as though they never existed on my computer. I get the following message from Itunes. Itunes library "damaged" . I have aquired a rather large # of damaged libraries and my Ipod will not sync. Anyone have any ideas?

That did the trick.  Thank you!

  • Can't open iTunes and Mail after installing Yosemite

Hi, I intsalled Yosemite and after the Installation i can't open iTunes and Mail anymore, how can i fix this ?

    Long shot.
Go to Finder and select your user/home folder. With that Finder window as the front window, either select Finder/View/Show View options or go command - J.  When the View options opens, check ’Show Library Folder’. That should make your user library folder visible in your user/home folder. Go to Library/Containers/com.apple.mail.  Move the folder com.apple.mail to your desktop. You must move the entire folder, not just the contents.
Restart, re-launch Mail and test. If the problem is solved, recreate any required Mail settings and import any emails you want to save from the folder on the desktop. You can then put the folder in the Trash. If the problem remains, return the folder to where you got it replacing the one that is there.

  • After installing the OS 10.10.3 update iTunes will not open.  Re-downloading iTunes and re-installing did not help.

After downloading and installing OS 10.10.3 iTunes will not open.  Spotlight does not find it.  I have repaired permissions, re-downloaded iTunes, and re-installed it.  The problem remains.  ITunes appears in the directory of Applications, the update shown in the info in Finder.  Double clicking does not open it.

iTunes work fine till I connect my Iphone. The moment I connect my iphone it stops responding. I have reset my phone couple of times already and have re-install iTunes few times. Does anyone have any other suggestion on it?
Mail will never Quit. It will get my new mails or send them when I start it but after five mins or so it will stop responding at all.
Please let me know if anyone is facing similar problem.

You should be syncing your contacts with an app on your computer or cloud service (iCloud, Gmail, Yahoo, etc), and not relying on a backup.  If you haven't been doing this, start now and then restore your old backup.  You will then be able to sync the new contacts back into the phone.  However, you will lose all messages, etc newer thant the backup.

  • My pc will not let me install the newer itunes, how can I update my phone without losing all my purchases (i'm thinking i'll have to delete itunes and re-install right?)

I've had my Iphone4 since 2011 but the current operating system is still 4.2.1. I'd gone quite a while between buying things on itunes directly to my phone and synching it to my pc. When I eventually synched it, it told me that I needed to upgrade to a newer version of Itunes. When I try and click on it to get new version my pc will not do anything. The only thing I can think of doing is to uninstall the old itunes and re-install the current one but i'm guessing i will lose all my purchases. Is this the only way to go about this, any help would be gratefully appreciated - thanks mark (chunky74)

uninstalling iTunes and it's additional components does absolutely nothing to the music/apps/etc that you have downloaded or purchased.
before uninstalling iTunes, try going to the itunes website, download the install file there and manually install it.
If you do have to uninstall iTunes, please make sure you're following this article to make sure that you're uninstalling all of the components correctly and in the right order. Uninstalling iTunes, but not doing it the 'right' way is essentially a waste of time

  • Need to delete Itunes and re install it. Will i loose all my music library?

I accidentally deleted Quick time. It is needed to run itunes. A message tells me to uninstall Itunes and re install it again. My concern is : will i loose all my music library in process? Here's some additional info :
    WinXP
    Ipod Classic (5th gen)
Any help is appreciated. Please email me [email protected] Thanks a bunch

    Hey there,
No, because your music is stored elsewhere on your computer (most likely under My Music from within My Documents). I have had to follow this procedure a few times and have never lost a song. So go ahead and re-install.

  • Do I need to delete Itunes and re-install

I receieved a new Ipod under warantee today. Do I need to start from square one again? That is, should I delete Itunes and re-install so that I start with a clean slate?

Uninstalling iTunes does not remove the music from your computer.
Try going through the steps in this article...

Specifically, follow the steps for removing the Quicktime files from the System32 folder in Windows, and also check the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility for Quicktime stuff.

Let's try a standalone Apple Application Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of the issue.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:
    http://www.rarlab.com/
Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleApplicationSupport.msi to do a standalone AAS install.
Does it install properly for you? If so, does iTunes launch properly now?
If instead you get an error message during the install, let us know what it says. (Precise text, please.)

Hold down the option key while starting iTunes and make an new library.  Will it open then? If so, you have a bad library.  With the new library import the library.xml version of the file in your iTunes folder.  This will make it 90% like before (some metadata are not identical, but I don't know which ones).

  • Deleting itunes and re-installing

Hi, I was just wondering if I deleted itunes and re-install it, would I still be able to keep the songs?
    Thanks

    Windows XP

    Hi Jac-Jac,
Your songs on your computer are stored in a folder called "iTunes Music", which is inside anohter folder called "iTunes". By default, your music will be in the folder called "My Music", although you may have chosen a different location for the library.
You can always search (Start > Search) for "itunes music", to see where your files are.
Anyways, your music is stored in different folders than your installation files. If you go to Add or Remove Programs in Control Panel and remove the "iTunes" entry, for example, your music will still be saved in that folder called "iTunes Music", since the program and installation files are stored separate of your iTunes library files.
So, as long are you are just uninstalling the program, and/or deleting any related files (like in "C:/Program Files"), your music should be fine.
