Itunes and mobile.me

I use two iMacs and a Macbook pro. I have an mobile.me account. All the addresses, dates, bookmarks and E-Mails are in perfect sync between this computers. Cool thing. I frequently buy music from iStore using any of this computers. Now, the trouble starts. I have to manually track which song I bought on which computer and copy it to the others manually. On the computer where I originally bought it, the song is in folder "Einkäufe" (maybe called "shopping" in the english version). On the others it is in "Music".
This makes me go crazy one day. Why cant I mobile.me my music automatically and in perfect sync like the other stuff?
Or is there a way and I just dont know?
Thanks
Manfred

I have an idea: What happens if I click the option "Synchronize iDisk with local drive" in the MobileMe settings and then tell iTunes to use this this local copy of iDisk as media center? Will all 3 Macs be in sync without manual override this way?

Two weeks ago I was updating my iPhone 4 to the new software. As soon as it was done it sent my phone into recovery mode. I talked to apple support line four times and they could not figure it out. I got frustrated after two days of
Not being able to use my phone and went to the apple store and had them restore it. When that happened it of
Course deleted all my stuff on my phone. When I was talking to apple support on the phone they told
Me that my computer was not downloading mobile me or apple mobile support. I've never had problems before until I tried updating it. So now Ive tried
Reinstalling iTunes and my computer will not dl mobile me or apple mobile support. I went to their support online and followed some
Of their stuff to try to fix and disabled Something and it told me to restart my computer and so I did and now I can't find the page where it was giving me the directions for it bc when I disabled programs it somehow disabled to where I can't get on the Internet. My phone works fine now just don't have my numbers, music, apps, ringtones pictures etc. The problem is now my computer, iTunes, my Internet connection, and mobile me and apple mobile software. Hi!
i Bought alot of games via iphone, wich i have not synced to itunes and my phone crasched! I restored it but now i dont have any apps/games. What do i do? Doesnt itunes save a list of apps that i have bought?

Your list of purchases is available if you log into your account in iTunes on your computer. You can also re-download apps for free (though you will have to find them yourself in the app store, iTunes won't find them for you) : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519

  • Can't install new itunes and mobile device support keeps crashing

a while ago, i tried getting new quicktime, but my computer crashed in the middle of the updating (also a problem- anyone know why it keeps lagging, freezing, and crashing on me?). i ignored it, and plugged in my ipod a few days later. itunes wouldn't pop up, and when i clicked the icon, i got a popup saying "itunes not found, please reinstall" or something along those lines.
i tried reinstalling it, but it gets stuck at "copying new files". i also tried getting the new quicktime, but it get stuck about 2/3s through it. also, after leaving my computer on for a night to see if it would install, i started getting a popup from microsoft windows saying that "MobileDeviceService has stopped working". if i try to check online for a solution, the popup dissapears after a while, but pops up again in a few seconds. same with if i just close the popup. this popup has also started to appear the second i log on to my computer.
i also tried uninstalling mobile device support (using this), but when it's preparing for installation, my computer freezes and stops working.
tldr: updated to quicktime, but crashed in the middle. now i can't get new itunes or quicktime, and i get popups about apple mobile device support that won't go away. any suggestions?
and my computer started to lag and freeze a lot about a month ago.. i'm not sure why. but it's been very annoying since i have to keep hitting the power button cause the freezing doesn't allow me to do anything. i ran 3 virus scans, and only 1 managed to finish without crashing, and it's telling me that nothing's wrong. i've also uninstalled and deleted a lot of things, but that hasn't helped either.
i have vista, and would really appreciate some help.

    anyone?
*i've managed to download quicktime, but am still unable to download itunes. after reaching a certain point in downloading itunes, (about 1/3 of the way?) it stops at "copying files", and my computer freezes and i have to hold the power button in order to shut it off and do anything, or i get a popup asking me if i want to change something so itunes can finish downloading. i click "yes", but then the download stops completely and i get a message saying "itunes has finished downloading, but with errors" and it tells me to download it again.
a popup from MobileServiceDevice keeps appearing as well, but it won't go away. the details are:
    Problem Event Name:    APPCRASH

  • After syncing with iTunes, Apple Mobile Device Support uses 83-99% of CPU

After syncing with iTunes 10.4.0.80, everything becomes very slow on my XP Home PC with 2G RAM.  Apple Mobile Device is reported as using 83-99% of the CPU cycles.  Shutting down and restarting Apple Mobile Device solves the problem and reduces CPU cycles to 0%.  (I have written a small batch program to stop and restart the Apple Mobile Device to achieve this.)  Does anyone have any thoughts about why the Apple Mobile Device process won't release when the sync is finished?

i deleted itunes and mobile support and now when i reinstall itunes the mobile support does not come back with it as when it tries to install that it just says rolling back after it is almost done
The AMDS install roll-back (on XP) can be caused by old driver componentry "stuck" in the bowels of your OS. If that's what is going on, we can get past this ... but I'm afraid it's a bit of a performance.
First, go into "My Computer". Go "Tools > Folder Options". Go to the view tab.
Make sure "Show hidden files and folders" is selected.
Make sure "Hide extensions for known filetypes" is unchecked.
Make sure "Hide protected operating system files (Recommended)" is unchecked.
    Click OK.
Now in "My Computer", open "Local Disk C:" or whichever drive your Operating System is installed on.
    Open the "Windows" folder.
    Open the "system32" folder.
    Open the "DRVSTORE" folder.
In there look to see if you have either of the following two folders:
    netaapl_(LongStringOfNumbers)
    usbaapl_(LongStringOfNumbers)
If you find either of them, drag them out onto the desktop. (Don't touch any other files or folders you see in there.)
Now go back into the "system32" directory.
    Open the "Drivers" directory.
Look for either of the following two files:

Yes, and, I try to restore. I have the T-Mobile sim card in it just to clarify. It will not let me get passed that, it does not accept the t-mobile sim card. i tried restoring it using wifi, cellular, and i cant get i tunes. I am scared that if i take the tmobile sim card out and put the at&t one in just to complete the restoration process that the iphone will lock again and not read the tmobile sim card, then all my hard work has gone for nothing. ( this whole process was caused by me trying wanting to empty my pictures onto my computer because i did not have any storage space left). <--- that may not be as important, but i included it just because.

  • Hi was told that there was an update for itunes yesterday, when to update and this kept failing, was prompted to uninstall itunes and reinstall this continues to fail message coming up says Apple Mobile device failed to start insufficient  previlieges

Hi yesterday I was prompted to a update to itunes this I tried to do without success failing a number of times. After this I was prompted to unistall itunes and re install this now continues to fail with a message error something like Apple Mobile Devices Failed to start not enough previlieges. Please help is this a Apple issue Iv'e never had any problems before.

I had this same problem this morning. When I tried to run ITunes after the failed upgrade I got a "msvcr80.dll is missing" driver error.
Following the instructions in step 1 of this link:
    http://pcsupport.about.com/od/findbyerrormessage/a/msvcr80-dll-not-found-missing -error.htm
got the latest version of ITunes up and running for me.
The only thing that didn't quite work like the instructions said was I couldn't get the Apple Mobile Device Support to uninstall. The uninstall ran and said it was successful, but it was never removed from my list of installed programs. Even w/ that, the full re-install fixed the issue.

I have an apple id which I have been happily using to purchase from iTunes and it appears magically on iPad and iPhone, MacBook and partner's iPod touch. Now I have done something wrong in iCloud and my mobile me Id comes up on iPhone and iPad so I can no longer purchase using this and i can't find a way to reset  What should I do? I want to be able to buy apps from iPhone and iPad from this same account and  still synch with my mac book and share with my partner's iPod touch.

  • ITunes and ROKR mobile phone - found a way of making it all work !fixed!

I struggled for two evenings trying to get my daughters Christmas present working. iTunes and the Motorola ROKR phone would not exchange music files.
What I quickly realised is that iTunes on the Motorola does not work as if it were a Window application and so is impossible to manipulate. Hence the reason it requires a specific version of iTunes on the PC to make the whole thing work.
In short. Newer versions of iTunes installed on a PC do not comply with the rules required by iTunes on your Motorola.
So the answer is to have two versions of iTunes on my Windows PC. One version for my oldest daughter's iPod and another one for my youngest daughter's Motorola. This means that there are two seperate iTune libraries in the My Music folder. This is a bit inconvenient but as my daughters have totally different music tastes it is not a big problem for me. My daughters can share music files by using Windows to copy files between the two different libraries.
To see how I got this far read the next posting where I have explained

    Ok folks
Like me you have been pulling your hair out trying to get your music from iTunes to your Motorola. I have at last got something that works and hope that this method will work for all of you.
    My environement -
    Operating system: Windows Home XP
PC connection: 4 port USB hub connected to USB 1.1
    Mobile: Motorola ROKR E1
I have used the naming conventions
    iTunes_safe
    and
    iTunesROKR
You can use any other name in there place.
Read through the whole process once before commencing.
If you already have iTunes on your PC then you will first have to protect your music collection. Go to MyDocuments\My Music. Rename the folder
    iTunes
    to
    iTunes_safe
Next you will have to creat a new folder in My Music called
    iTunesROKR
Before commencing the remainder of the process ensure the Motorola is not plugged in to the PC and that all other programs and windows are closed.
Now take the iTunes installation disc that came with your Motorola and start installing the program to your PC. When the installation process asks which folder you want to place the iTunes program in do not take the suggested destination which is
    Program Files/iTunes
    Change the destination to
    Program Files/iTunesROKR
Now continue with the installation until it is complete. Do not restart your PC just yet.
If you took the option of having a short cut placed in your desk top you will need to edit it so that it can be used for the Motorola/iTunes program. Rename the short cut to
    iTunesROKR
Next, right click on the shortcut and click on the Shortcut tab. Check that the Target reads
    "C:\Programme files\iTunesROKR\iTunes.exe"
Edit the target if it does not show this. Click on Apply then OK.
Now double click the short cut to ensure it starts up iTunesROKR
When iTunes opens click on the Edit tab, then Preferences, then Advanced. Click on Change to open the small browser window and click on the iTunesROKR folder in My Music. Click OK to save these changes.
It might be a good idea at this time to hard save all these changes by restarting your PC.
When the PC has restarted and the hard drive has stopped spinning connect the Motoral to your PC. Wait for Windows to finish the "Found New Device" process.
Next use the iTunesROKR short cut to open iTunesROKR.exe
Your Motorola and iTunes will immediately start communicating. The iTunes program will run very slow to start with as it sets up new folders for your music collection. You may see a message Window in iTunes prompting you to start a new library for the phone, accept this by clicking yes.
    Now close down iTunes.
Use Windows to return to My Documents\My Music
Delete the folder iTunes and rename the folder
    iTunes_safe
    back to
    iTunes
You can now follow the instructions as per the Motorola instruction Manual.
There have been a few hiccups after I carried out this process. I find that deleting the file
    iTunes Library.itl
in the version of iTunes that is causing the problem fixes this problem. You can find this file inside the My Music folder
Three days have passed and so far no more problems. Daughter is now delited with her Motorola and iTunes. I am investing in a wig

When I plug my iPhone 4s into my PC, I get a message that says iTunes needs a newer version of Apple Mobile Device Support. It wants me to uninstall both the AMDS and iTunes and then reinstall iTunes. iTunes won't recognize my phone and so I can't synch it. Has anyone else run into this problem recently and how did you resolve it? Thanks!

Thank you both. I suppose I should have prefaced my question with the concern that I've read a number of other posts from people who have had a similar issue and when they tried to follow the directions, they ran into a multitude of other problems. As you might imagine, I'm hoping to avoid the creation of new problems as I try to solve this one. Thanks again.

  • Old iPod mini can't be recognized after formatting, and iTunes 'Apple Mobile Device Driver not found.'

My roommate gave me an old iPod Mini a few days ago. It was working fine 'til I plugged it into my computer and it asked me to format it. I did, and now it cannot be recognized by iTunes or my computer. My computer views it as a "removable disk" which cannot be accessed. In devices, it is listed as an Apple iPod though, so I'm hoping not all is lost. I have tried many quick fixes I've read on internet (including changing disk letter) but to no avail. I have reinstalled the new iTunes and now that is telling me it has not installed properly, and when I ran diagnostics, it reads that the Apple Mobile Device Driver not found. I will copy & paste all the info from the diagnostic run below, and if anybody can help me with my new (old) iPod, I'd be everly greatful!

    What You Need
    To use iPhone, you need:
A new two-year wireless service plan with AT&T
A Mac or a PC with a USB 2.0 port and one of the following operating systems:
Mac OS X version10.4.10 or later
Windows XP Home or Professional with Service Pack 2 or later
Windows Vista Home Premium, Business, Enterprise, or Ultimate edition
iTunes 7.3 or later, available at www.itunes.com
    An iTunes Store account
    An Internet connection
You must be at least 18 years old to open a new AT&T wireless account. You will need a

Ipod touch not being recognized by itunes (but is registering as an external drive by the computer itself) have updated and reinstalled itunes, stopped/started apple mobile device and removed any mobile programs associated with my non apple cellphone. This seems to have started happening after the last Itunes update I did as I was able to put music on my ipod touch a month or so ago. Is there some way to go back to an older version of itunes? I really have no idea what else to do since I followed every step on the trouble shooting page for windows 8.

I had this problem too and my roommate solved it!
    Go to 'Settings'
    'Music'
Scroll to the bottom and enter your password to log onto your home sharing
Then connect to iTunes and sync!
