i got a creative zen for ny birthday and was asking for a ipod but oh well. i have a lot of music on my itunes. and for the life of my i cant figure out how to get my music in itunes over to my mp3 help me please someone

Ok first off there is not going to be a good way sync a non apple mp3 palyer to iTunes. Here are your options
- If the music you have was purchased though the iTunes music store then no other MP3 player will be able to play them. You will have to burn it to a CD and then import the files as MP3 files. Then you should be able to point your MP3 player software to where ever iTuens is saving your music lib. Be sure you only copy over the MP3 files and not the m4p, m4b, or m4a files. They will only play on iPods and though iTunes.
- If you music is all MP3 files you RIPPED from CDs then you should be able to just point your MP3 palyer software to where ever iTuens is saving your music files and sync it.
Either way if you copy new music file from your music player to your PC you will need to re-add the folder they were added from to iTunes or iTuens will not see them.

as i understand it i cannot use iTunes with other mp3 players than Ipod. Is that correct?
My son har got an mp3 player thats not an Ipod, and in my iTunes library i have several albums that are copied from our cd's - i understand that music i have bougt digitaly cant be copied to other mp3 players, but this is music from cds i have in the shelf at home already. Seems idiotic that i have to copy all my child music once more, but this time with Media Player to get them on my sons mp3 player..
Anybody know if this is right?

I'm guessing that you might be ripping those CDs using the aac format. What will have to happen is you rerip those CDs in mp3 format and then your son can use them. However only ipods can interface with itunes.
To check your preferences, Edit > Preferences. Click on the advanced tab and then you should see a import tab.

If you are sure that you have sound in other apps - and if you can still hear keyboard clicks and get notifications, then system sounds are not muted. Try this and see if it works.
Close all apps completely and reboot the iPad.
Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the recents tray will appear with all of your recent apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

Why does itunes and other media continue to play when i close the lid on my macbook pro 2011???

Hey, I am new to mac and still getting used to it (making the transition from windows), its amazing! Anyhow, I cannot figure out why my itunes and other media like youtube or a film on vlc player continues to play once the lid has been closed. I thought that when i close the lid the macbook should then sleep. It does everytime when there is nothing playing. The little white light on the bottom right hand corner of the book is on but music continues to play.
The sleep option always works. If I press the power button and choose the option sleep it does so etcc.
Is this normal and am I just being stupid or is there a problem??
I bought the laptop from ebay, its a macbook pro late 2011 17inch. I dont have apple support and might have to make a trip into London to the mac store however I was hoping someone can help me...

hey, thanks for the reply. I don't know to be perfectly honest. When I close the lid without any music playing it sleeps fine. How could I check?
So basically I pressed the power button and pressed sleep. The laptop turned off and the little white light turned on no problem. I did the same thing with closing the lid and it went to sleep no problem. (Can you confirm that when the little white light is on it means the laptop is sleeping)??.
I then had itunes playing and pressed the power button and when i pressed sleep the music paused then 6 seconds later it went to sleep. I then had itunes playing and closed the lid and the music kept on playing even though the white light was on.

Update: I tried the "Toshiba Recovery Wizard" after everything else either fizzled out or hung up. After going all the way thru the recovery process (up to 100%), I finally got an error message.....it didn't work. And now, when I fire up the computer, I don't even get to that menu with the recovery options....the only thing I can boot into is the screens with the various ways to run your OS (in "safe mode", "safe mode with networking", etc).
I'm not a techie, but I'm guessing at this point, the part of my hard drive that got damaged in the fall was, at the very least, the partition with the recovery data. Couple that with the fact that this cheapo Toshiba laptop didn't even come with recovery disk (or ANY kind of disk, even basic installation software!), I'm screwed: I don't see any way to get a workable computer now without some kind of disk to boot from. So NOW my concern is more about spending the $$ for a new OS and THEN finding out the hard drive has other problems too...is broken in some other way to boot.
How to check this? As I said, I did run "chkdsk" back when I could get into the recovery menu and run the fix-it programs. It didn't note any problems. Thinking of taking this opportunity to upgrade to Windows 7 from Vista (which I never liked), but I have to know that the computer is otherwise ok....how to be sure?

I have that exact same problem! It plays albums fine. But individual songs including ones downloaded from iTunes either skip or play the music of another totally different song. All play fine on iTunes and my iPhone... Got this one to replace my dying 5th gen classic.
I hope there is a fix for this, cause it *****!!!!

Listen. After i installed the latest 10.8.4 i have distorted audio in iTunes and other music applications.
I have tested this on 3 mac's all with the same result. distorted audio when playing loud
Anyone else got this new problem after installing 10.8.4 ?

We need to get this fixed NOW... Please write your situation if you discovered the same bug.

Go to System Preferences / Accounts - Login Items.
In order to make changes, click the lock icon bottom left corner of the pane. You may be prompted for your admin password.
Select the apps you don't want to launch on startup then click - (minus).
