Itunes and power PC
I have a desktop Power PC running OSX 10.4.6. I upgraded iTunes to version 7.6.1 which will not open now. The warning window says I need OSX 10.4.9 or latter to use it. EXCEPT when I down load the new OSX 10.11 or the combo of that I get a warning saying the volume in this Power PC is not compatible. Now I no longer have iTunes. Is there a way to get an older version of iTunes back so I can play my music?
Thanks,
Walt
Hi Neil,
Downloaded the file, tried to install it, message came up saying install did not work, try again, so I did 3 times, no luck. Put the update in the trash, would not empty and machine froze. Had to unplug it to turn it off. Now whole system is down when I restart. No dock and the none of the commands under the apple work. Have to use the button on the front of the machine to turn it off. ooops
Any more ideas?
Thanks,
Walt

How can I do a hard reset of iPhone 5 if iTunes and power buttons don't work?
My son's iPhone 5 will not go past the screen with the little blue iTunes logo up top and an image of the charger on bottom. I've tried syncing to iTunes to restore but receive an error message after it goes through updates. The error reads, "There was a problem downloading the software for the iPhone "iPhone". The network connection was reset. Make sure your network settings are correct and your network connection is active, or try again later." So then I try holding down the power and home buttons to get the Apple logo but then the initial screen comes backs (iTunes logo/image of charger). This phone is really not THAT old so there has to be a solution out there.
The error that you are seeing has to do with your Internet connection. Try disabling your anti-virus software and connect the iPhone again and try to restore. See this support document for help. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808

my iphone 4 is stuck on the reboot logo, ive ried holding both home and power to shut it off snd then keep holding home to let you plug it into itunes but it doesnt work. what do i do?
Did you try rebooting the iPad? You will need to have some battery power for this.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

I can't get my 4th gen ipod touch to turn on but itunes see's it and is in recovery mode. I can hear the beep beep when I plug it in to the usb port. I have also charged it for 3 hrs so far but won't fire up. I tried the customery hold the home and power button routine but don't know what else to do. I tried recovery mode but the itunes say's"waiting for the ipod" and I guess cause it's not on it won't recover. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks in advance to all who reply!
Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

iPod classic hard drive needle sometimes skips (Red X). When it doesn't and seems to power on normally, I start to restore it in Itunes and then it starts to skip again with the Red X on the screen. One time I was able to run the disk utility in time and reformat the hard drive, but the red x ended up appearing again and the hard drive started skipping again.
Is there anything I can do besides get a new hard drive?
P.S. I have also tried the banging on palm/floor trick and it hasn't worked yet for me.There nothing we can suggest to save a bad iPod hardisk, except to try some 3rd Party software to try repair the Hardisk.

i have connected it to itunes like i was told to do and it wont do anything because its locked with a passcode and its frozen on the lock screen and will not let me enter myt passcode and after a while it just shuts off, it has been doing this for almost 48 hours. I was told to hold the home button and power button to shut it down and that I could then restart it and it would work... Nothing has helped, What can I try???
Reset the device by pressing and holding the home and power buttons for 15-20 seconds until the white Apple logo appears.
If that does not resolve, restore the device via iTunes on the computer.
If all else fails, take the device to Apple (or whomever provides support in your country) for evaluation and possible replacement. -

Have an iPod touch 4th gen. It is completely charged, but once I disconnect from a power source it shuts down and then the apple logo just keeps reappearing. I have restored via iTunes and reset all the settings. Any suggestions?
If you restored to factory settings/new iPod via iTunes (Not via Settings>General>Reset>Erase all Content and Setting) and still have the problem that indicates a hardware problem.
Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store..
