  • "one moment, connecting to itunes" "app store temporarily unavailable" Please help:(

I try to access the Mac app store the same message appears "one moment, connecting to itunes" (image below) but it never connects. If I press the update tab on the screen a massage appears that says "app store temporarily unavailable" Please help:(

My son is also getting this exact message on both our new laptop with Vista and the older desktop with XP. I am NOT having this problem on either machine. He has 18 downloads waiting and can't download them.
I have checked firewall settings, pop up blockers, outdated account info, and msconfig. I have uninstalled and reinstalled itunes and still am having this problem with his account.
I also tried logging into his user account on both the laptop and the pc and then logged him out of itunes and then logged myself in to see if it was the installation. I had NO problems. I then turned that around and logged into my user account on both the laptop and pc and then tried to log him into MY installation of itunes, but OOPS, got the error message again.
This has been going on for months and appears to be arbitrary. Sometimes a song will download, but sometimes another won't. He bought an album and only some of the songs downloaded. The others are "waiting to be downloaded" and when we try to "Check for Purchases", he still gets the message, even though he's IN THE STORE!

  • HT1918 When trying to download the free applications from itunes app store its asking about billing information

When trying to download the free applications from itunes app store its asking about billing information.
Billing popup will display and navigating to billing detail page.

Unless the instructions on this page are followed when creating an account : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2534
then credit card details will need to be entered before the account can be used to download any item (free or paid-for) from the store.
If you are being prompted to review the account then you could see if this post by mountaingoatgirl lets you do so without needing to enter credit card details : https://discussions.apple.com/message/24303054
If not then you will need to enter credit card details - you should be able to remove the card after entering it

I have tried three times to download a TV series from itunes in iPad. OS 5.1.1.  I get an error that my Itunes account is temporarily unavailable.  Yet I can download updates to my apps on the iPad with no problem.  Any suggestions?  Could this be a credit card issue? If so how do I check on that info?

I purchased a movie hours ago and when I select "check for purchases" I get a message:
"unable to check for purchases, iTunes store is temporarily unavailable, please try again later."
Well, its been hours since I purchased it, still can't download it. Why is this happening and what do I do in order to get my movie?
    PLEASE HELP.
    Thank you.

The best thing you can do, if you haven't gotten a response in a couple of hours, is to go back to your original question, reply to yourself with something like, "Can someone help?" When you do this, your question moves back to the top of the page & hopefully someone will see it. Merry Christmas!

  • ITunes match won't update? iTunes store temp unavailable?

  • We could not complete your iTunes Store request. The iTunes Store is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later.

Please can someone help. I keep on getting this when I try and buy a song or upgrade my iPhone aps. I have got the latest iTunes on my 15" MacBook Pro with OS X 10.8.5 (12F37). Last week I changed my password on //appleid.apple.com I could the access my account in iTunes. I have tried to log on to my account / view my account in itunes / buy a song and tried upgrading my apps, but I can't do anything now. it is frustrating. Please, please, please can someone help. :-)

Unsure if this will help anyone but I had the same problem with the message always coming up when I tried to login: "We could not complete your iTunes Store request. The iTunes Store is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later."
What I couldn't understand was that I could log into iTunes online, but not through the iTunes app, becoming very frustrated I went to drastic measures to get everything working again - although I found this post after I had success.
To add to the issue, my iPhone (4S - iOS7) was visible on iTunes (latest version), but some of my apps had failed to sync (showing grey on my iPhone and being unable to delete them), causing further issues and adding to my frustrations....which attributed to the drastic measures posted below.
(You may want to try following the above posts before following my method)
**** Apple support provided me with an email containing many links, all of which didn't really help me, but I'll post anyway, just incase they assist someone else:
    "Dear Luke,
Thank you for writing to iTunes Store Customer Support, my name is Indra and I'll be assisting to you with your concern.
I understand that you are unable to login to your iTunes store account and getting message that the iTunes Store is temporarily unavailable. I can imagine you must be eager to access your account and I will do my best to resolve this issue.
Luke, as an advisor for the iTunes Store, I handle issues related to billing, downloading, customer accounts, and the items available on the iTunes Store. Although your question falls outside of my area of specialty, I will be happy to assist you with resolving your issue.
I have verified that the iTunes Store is functioning and accepting connections. The issue could have been temporary, related to your internet connection, your local network, or your computer itself. If you’re still unable to connect, this article outlines some potential solutions:
Can't connect to the iTunes Store

Firewall, virus-protection, and web-acceleration software can prevent you from connecting to the iTunes Store. You might not be able to connect even if the software appears to be configured to allow full access to the iTunes Store. You can use the MSCONFIG utility to determine if software on your computer is preventing access to the iTunes Store. For detailed instructions, please refer to the following article:
Using Msconfig to troubleshoot conflicts in Windows Vista and Windows 7
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2292
If the articles above don't help you connect to the iTunes Store, I suggest testing to see if this issue occurs while you are signed in to a new user account on your computer. To learn how to create a new user account in your version of Windows, please read the article below for your operating system:
How to create and configure user accounts in Windows XP
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/279783
Windows Vista: Create a user account
    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Create-a-user-account
Windows 7: Create a user account
    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/Create-a-user-account
Windows 8: Create a user account
    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-8/create-user-account
Once you are signed in to this new user account, open iTunes and try to connect to the iTunes Store. If you can connect without error, then you’ve identified that the issue is with the previous user account that you were using. You may want to consider adopting this new account as your user account and transferring your files from the old account to your new one.

But if the above doesn't work for you then you can follow my method...in the end, I perfomed the following actions which did work:
1).  Uninstalled iTunes from my computer (via Control Panel > Programs & Features)
2).  Located the iTunes folder containing media, Previous Libraries etc (normally located under your Music folder) and simply moved it to my desktop. (can't afford to delete)
    3). Downloaded iTunes.
4). Plugged my iPhone into my laptop and moved all contents across to my desktop (photo's).
5). Restored my iPhone erasing ALL data (extreme but desperate measures were required) - you may want to back it up, but I personally didn't have anything that I couldn't afford to loose on it.
6). Set-up my iPhone (set language etc...) including iCloud, but did not plug it into my laptop.
7). Chose the following iPhone settings>
              > iCloud - Contacts turned off
              > Mail, Contacts, Calendars - iCloud Contacts turned off (same end result)
              > iTunes & App Store - made sure I was logged in via Apple ID.
    7). Closed Outlook.
8). Re-installed iTunes, saving it on the C:> default location.
9). Followed the normal iTunes install prompts, setting it up as new. (making sure I had NO apps or music - clean slate)
10). Plugged my iPhone into my laptop, waiting for it to appear as it normally does.
11). Checked for iOS updates and iTunes updates (all good)
12). Checked Sync Contacts with Outlook (opening Outlook at the same time) - Calendars I left to the iCloud
13). APPLY....once sync finally completed (this time SUCCESSFUL) I was able to click iTunes Store and LOG IN.....finally!
I probably didn't have to perform all 13 steps, but that's exactly what I did to get everything working again!
There is probably someone out there who will be able to explain why I couldn't login to iTunes, why many of my apps didn't load onto my iPhone correctly, why everything failed to sync and probably able to shorten the above 13 steps to a quick fix.... but for now, everything is finally working and my 48hrs of frustration has come to an stress free end!

  • Cannot download my 15 available downloads, error says store is temp unavail

I reported the problem through iTunes around 12/5 and they replied once about 8 days ago with a standard boiler plate reply, telling me to do several things that I had already done. I wrote back with more details and got no reply, and then I wrote back a couple more times - but it's almost like Apple is ignoring me now. Even when I opened a new trouble ticket last week by reporting the problem with a different purchase they have not replied in three days. That is not acceptable.
There is no error code number. When I try to check for available downloads I get the error message "Unable to check for available downloads. The iTunes Store is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later." There is no problem with my Comcast cable internet.
The problem started on Saturday 12/5/09 when I bought "Saturday Night Live with Zac Efron" on the Apple TV to watch with my kids. and neither the Apple TV nor my 2 Macs would download without the above error. When I tried to download 11 iphone apps updates on my Macbook Pro later that same day, I got the same error and everything was added to my "Available Downloads" queue for downloading later (the TV show and the 11 app updates). Now 8 days later I am up to 15 available downloads that I cannot get.
I am using Comcast cable internet and have had no disruptions, and it is downloading everything else at 7+ mbps with no problems. I can browse the iTunes Store, listen to previews, and occasionally I can even buy something new and it will often download fine. Prior to Dec 5th can't recall the last time a download from iTunes has failed. Since the 5th, IF the download fails then my "available downloads" queue gets bigger and bigger as the failed download is added to the queue. Any time I go to Itunes > Store > Check for available downloads I get the same message quoted above.
Somehow on Sunday the 6th I was able to download that one Zac Efron TV episode on the Apple TV (the purchase that started it all). I was also able to purchase a new album on my iMac Sunday and that downloaded fine. But when I did an iTunes Plus Upgrade of "Enya A Life in Music" with my iMac on Sunday it failed to download, and it was added to the download queue which wont download and I still can't get it.
In problem solving, I even added my iTunes account to my account on my son's Macbook and authorized it, and it was not able to download any of the "available downloads" by using "Check for Available Downloads". I also checked permissions of the itunes data folder and did the terminal command to change permissions that the apple support site suggested (even though permissions were fine). I even created a new iTunes folder on a new hard disk formatted for Mac, and had iTunes copy everything to the new hard drive (using the APPLE instructions for creating a new iTunes folder via iTunes preferences). I did that because my original iTunes folder was on an external MS DOS FAT format disk, even though that drive has been working fine for 3 years. I have done ALL of the trouble shooting tips that the Apple support site recommended.
Because the problem exists on a fresh macbook and after the trouble shooting, I believe the problem is with my account at iTunes, and I think that I need to have the "available downloads queue" reset to zero, and then have the Enya iTunes Plus upgrade added back in. I have no way to get Apple to do that or anything else for me, despite having spent hundreds of dollars, if not thousands on music, movies and TV Shows. I am baffled by their lack of response to my "Report a Problem".
I don't know what to do. I am now worried that every time I purchase something new, that if it doesn't download that I will never get it. I have some application updates that I can't download because iTunes tells me I "have already purchased this application but have not downloaded it yet." I have too much invested in my library to just go away. Can anyone please help!
(An added note - For many months or even years my iTunes account has always shown that I have 1 available download when I have none, but it has never failed to download purchases that are waiting for me. For instance if I had Greys Anatomy TV Show subscription ready to download the number of available downloads would say "2", and the TV show would download fine and the number of available downloads would drop to "1" again. Thus, I suspect there is a problem with my iTunes account, and not my computers or ATV. I reported this once to Apple and they did nothing about it, and I ignored it since it has never caused a problem.)

This is bad - I have an Apple automated response that they got my report on 12/6, 12/10 and 12/14, and I haven't heard anything from them since the 6th when I got one reply that told me to do things I tried before reporting the problem. Between the 6th and 10th I replied to their response 4 times and they ignored me, forcing me to report a problem with two more items that wont download but getting no response.
How do they get away with this kind of behavior, especially for someone with FIVE Core 2 Duo macs and thousands of dollars of of iTunes store purchases? I'm getting really ******.

  • Hi I have an iTunes account with my uk debit card but am currently in Australia, can I buy and use an iTunes/app store gift card in AU$ or am I only allowed to acces the store in gbp£ ?

Hi I have an iTunes account with my uk debit card but am currently in Australia, can I buy and use an iTunes/app store gift card in AU$ or am I only allowed to acces the store in gbp£ ? Cheers

I had the same error when trying to update my apps on my ipod touch. I tried to input my security code numerous times to no avail. I also made sure my billing address was the same as what my bank had on file. To fix the issue I went into iTunes, logged onto the iTunes store, went to account settings and reviewed my recent purchases. Turned out that I had made a recent purchase and didn't have enough money left on my credit card to pay for it at the time. I paid off the credit card, and then input my security code once more and now it works fine. I've heard that some debit or pay as you go credit cards require a minimum balance, so make sure you have at least that amount in your account.

  • ITunes/App Store won't let me complete my purchase,

says there is billing problem with previous order and to please update payment plan

Have you logged into your account and checked/updated your payment details ? If there was a problem with your last purchase and iTunes wasn't able to collect its payment, then you won't be able to buy/download anything else from the store until you have a valid payment details on your account and what you owe has been paid off.
You should be ableto check/update your payment details on your account via your computer's iTunes : go into the Store > View Account menu option and log into your account, and on your account's details page there should be a payment link.  If you are doing it on an iOS device (iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch) then tap on your id in Settings > iTunes & App Store (Settings > Store on iOS 5 and below) and tap on 'View Apple ID' on the popup and log into your account  - that should also give you a payments link on your account's page.

  • SOLUTION - iTunes Store is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later.

I have had this problem three times in the past few months. I think I've found a solution. (I just posted this solution on a question in the iTunes for Windows forum, but I think there needs to be a thread here for users with an Apple TV.)
The first time I spent over a week emailing back and forth to Apple Support with no fix. Nothing they tried seemed to work. They tried to tell me it was my Mac or my Apple TV, but I was always able to purchase and download iPhone Apps, songs, and podcasts. The trouble was when I tried to download App updates and TV show Season Passes purchased on my Apple TV. Once the problem started, I would always get the "The iTunes Store is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later" error. The Apple TV would give a similar error message.
I knew I had a few iPhone App updates available, but I couldn't download them in iTunes. I made sure all of the Apps with available updates were installed on my iPhone, then downloaded the updates through the App Store app on the phone. This cleared the download queue of any App updates. At this point all I had was TV shows. Within 24 hours the Apple TV was able to begin downloading the episodes.
The first time I tried this I couldn't be sure that my solution was the actual fix, since there was almost a day between what I did and when the Apple TV began to download TV shows. But, I have since had the same exact trouble two more times and each time I have used this method with successful results.
So, here's the steps to follow:
    1. Sync your iPhone or iPod touch and make sure all apps with available updates are on the phone/touch. Using iTunes, you may have to install apps that are not currently on the device (but are in your iTunes Applications list).
    2. Using the App Store app on the phone/touch, download and install all updates. Restart the device and sync again to iTunes. This will tell iTunes to stop looking for the app updates in the iTunes Store.
    3. Hopefully, within 24 hours your downloads will resume normally.
As I said, this has worked for me every time, but it doesn't work immediately. Give it a day and you should see results. I noticed this problem again just this morning, so I tried these steps during my lunch break and now, six hours later, my Apple TV just downloaded the latest episodes of Top Gear, ATHF, and Breaking Bad.
    Good luck!

There are a lot of similar posts from other people reporting the same problem, Apple need to fix something on their end : https://www.apple.com/support/systemstatus/

  • HT5552 Using PayPal for iTunes/App Store

I try to select PayPal as my payment option for iTunes/App Store, but when I select the PayPal icon and click the "continue" button, as directed, nothing happens.  Why can I not select PayPal?  All of my payment information is stored in PayPal, and I would like to keep it that way.

    Thanks for the pointer Lesnes.
Unfortunately I am unable to create an itunes account as part of the process for doing so asks for my bank or cc details which I am not happy to provide.
I received an email from Apple support last night with the following link:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2534
The link does not take into account that I already have an apple ID so instead of being able to follow all the steps I get asked to log in and review and this goes to a page requesting billing info with no 'None' or Paypal options.
