ITunes App Store turning into cesspool

People are putting Apps on the App Store that describe features of the App and charging for those features in In App Purchases.
I bought a printing application that looked good from the description. Says right in the description, "Prints PDF".
So I bought the App and when I tried to print a PDF if makes me pay $1.99 to unlock the function.

This problem sounds like it would fit under "This app didn't function as expected".  I can't guarantee that anything will happen, but reporting it just might get someone to look into the situation.

    Have you first gone to Settings > iTunes and App Store to ensure that you are signed into iTunes with your Apple ID? The following quote is from http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5883

  • Unable to log into itunes & app store

    I am unable to log into itunes & app store from my iphone5s OS 7.1.1. The apple ID works on the apple site and from my apple tv and ipad etc. I have rebooted the iphone, deleted icloud and logged back in successfully. I can use find my iphone and see my other devices. When I go to settings > iTunes & App Store > enter the apple ID and password and press sign in > it shows a activity circle at the top by the wifi indicator but then nothing else happens. Settings > iTunes & App Store still has my username and password. I can press sign in again but nothing happens.
    I've tried to go into iTunes Store and look at my previous purchased movies but it keeps prompting me to sign in..  I use existing apple ID > enter ID and pass > and it just loops the same process over and over..   use existing apple ID > enter ID and pass > use existing apple ID > enter ID and pass >  etc..

    To troubleshoot your problem, follow the steps below:
    1. Delete the file -  Macintosh HD/Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/NetworkInterfaces.plist
    2. Restart OS X
    3. Try logging into Mac App Store again.

    ive been trying to get on to itunes store and itunes app store and it takes awhile to work i shut it off and then i try again i checked my settings and not even that what do i do cause its not my connection at all its perfect.

  • I want to turn on touch ID for iTunes & App Store

    When I try, the feature is grayed out. I looked at my settings for iTunes & App store and my Apple ID is entered and when I click it i have the option to 'sign out' so I believe I am signed in. Any ideas on how to enable this feature?

    I have went in and enabled restrictions - it didn't work. I then enabled restrictions and disabled iTunes Store, Installing Apps, Deleteing Apps, and In-App Purchases and I am still not having luck with getting the option to tun this on. The 'requrie passwork' is also set to 15 minutes. See pictures as maybe I am in the wrong place.

    Sorry to hear you are having some initial issues getting started with the Mac App Store with your new computer. Let's try a few things:
    1) Confirm you are able to access and edit your Apple ID at Apple - My Apple ID
    2) Close all open applications and restart your computer.
    3) Open the iTunes application and review / update your account.  From the menu bar, choose the Store > View Account command
    4) Click on the App Store icon on your dock and download a free app

    I had the same error when trying to update my apps on my ipod touch. I tried to input my security code numerous times to no avail. I also made sure my billing address was the same as what my bank had on file. To fix the issue I went into iTunes, logged onto the iTunes store, went to account settings and reviewed my recent purchases. Turned out that I had made a recent purchase and didn't have enough money left on my credit card to pay for it at the time. I paid off the credit card, and then input my security code once more and now it works fine. I've heard that some debit or pay as you go credit cards require a minimum balance, so make sure you have at least that amount in your account.

    You can look at an app's reviews before buying it, that should give an indication as to whether it does what it says that it does. And if an app is newly released then you may want to wait a few days (unless it's from a recognised source), just in case it only has positive reviews (which might be from account's that the developer has created him/herself)
    If you do buy an app that doesn't do what it's described as doing then you can use the 'report a problem' link from your purchase history : log into your account on your computer's iTunes via the Store > View Account menu option and you should then see a Purchase History section with a 'see all' link to the right of it ; click on that and you should see a list of your purchases ; find that app and use the 'Report a Problem' link and fill in details about the problem (iTunes support should reply within, I think, about 24 hours).
    If the 'report a problem' link doesn't work (it's been taking some people to this site on a browser instead of showing a form in iTunes) then you can try contacting iTunes support via this page : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/- click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page.
    Whether an app will be removed or not I don't know, but I assume that they will do something if it is a scam.

  • "iTunes & App Store" fingerprint option disabled in Settings

    Using iPhone 5s with iOS 7.0.1 and after going into Settings -> Passcode & Fingerprint -> Fingerprints, the option "iTunes & App Store" is disabled and grayed out, not allowing me to turn it on. Passcode Unlock is enabled and working fine.
    Anyone else running into this? Know how to get it enabled so I can use Touch ID for my app downloads?

    I was having the same problem.  I power cycled the phone and it was still happening, then left the phone alone for about an hour to go run some errands.  Now it's working. Weird, huh?

    My new iPhone 4S (week old) can't connect to iTunes, App Store or iBooks via Wi-Fi (and some other apps e.g. Hollister – but most of the other apps like Safari or ebay work fine). There is no problem with those apps loading via 3G network. When I turn off the wi-fi, it runs over 3G and i can access App store without any problem. When i turn off the 3G network and turn the Wi-Fi on, those apps like App Store won't work, other apps work fine. When i turn on both Wi-Fi and 3G, the App store (and so on) is also not working, other apps are.
    I also found out that when the Wi-fi is on and I sign out my apple ID, the App store starts working! But when I log in again, it will imediatelly stop working. I've tried logging in with others apple IDs, still with the same result. There is no problem with my apple ID account, because it works on my iPad, even via Wi-Fi.
    When i first set up my iPhone, there were no complications using App store ia Wi-fi with exactly the same account. I don't know if it has anything to do with it, but this problem started when i logged in with my UK account and then wanted to log back in with my Czech account.
    I tried turning it off, hard reset and deleting my iPhone several time (even without back up). Nothing worked since then.
    Does anyone have any idea how to fix this?
    I would really appreciate ANY help. This porblem is driving me crazy!

  • Does everyone need to use the same Apple ID/password for iTunes & App Store in iOS 8 Family share?

    I just set up Family share on my 5S and my wife's 5, both running iOS 8. I am the organizer.
    In order for my wife's purchases to be charged to my CC (per Family Share setup), does she need to be signed in under my Apple ID and password under Settings -> iTunes & App Store? Or, can she use her Apple ID (that she used with her previous App Store purchases)? Additionally, if she makes purchases in iTunes or the App Store under my Apple ID, does she need to enter my password?
    If she's logged into "iTunes & App Store" on her phone, using her Apple ID, will it work?

    Have you logged into your account and checked/updated your payment details ? If there was a problem with your last purchase and iTunes wasn't able to collect its payment, then you won't be able to buy/download anything else from the store until you have a valid payment details on your account and what you owe has been paid off.
    You should be ableto check/update your payment details on your account via your computer's iTunes : go into the Store > View Account menu option and log into your account, and on your account's details page there should be a payment link.  If you are doing it on an iOS device (iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch) then tap on your id in Settings > iTunes & App Store (Settings > Store on iOS 5 and below) and tap on 'View Apple ID' on the popup and log into your account  - that should also give you a payments link on your account's page.

    Sing into iTunes on a computer (iTunes>Store>View Account>Sign in and go to Purchase History. This will see the items purchases, the date and price.
