Itunes appears in windows, not in itunes. communication error.

the exact words that have come up every single time i uninstall/re-install my itunes/ipod softwear are
"the softwear required for communicating with the ipod is not installed correctly. please re-install itunes to install the ipods softwear."
my cpu wont download itunes 7 because of some quicktime error that comes up every single time i try to download it,
and i tried downloading quicktime directly but that didn't work either.
i tried using the disk cleanup thing off the apple site but that didn't help.
and i keep re-installing the itunes softwear from the cd my ipod came with but it just is NOT working.
help?

some folks have been having some success with pgfpdwife's technique in the following post:

note carefully that the technique involves a registry edit. be sure to make a backup of any keys you edit. if you're unfamiliar with your registry or registry editing, head to your XP help and support, do a search on registry, and read through the articles that come up.

Didn't happen for a while until sometime about 2weeks ago and before 8.1, my iTunes just updated recently will not except my iPod and says cannot not read the contents and there's something wrong communicating to it and the OS is not installed correctly and ask me to restore, I am not doing not since idk yet how to backup to iCloud since iOS 8 internally without iTunes backing up. and another msg saying to reinstall iTunes to install the os on the device.
Other than I can still access my stuff through third party software and access my photo's and it does charge even thou my cord is old and needs to be replaced since my cord is really wear and tearing clod to the middle. (the outside cord tearing down to see the inside like all apple cords do since they are so weak from the protection on each ends)
I just updated about an hr ago from 8.0.0 to 8.1 and still does the same.
this whole time while on 8.0.0 safari less crashed than it did so many times when i got a new one (7.1.2) from china to replace my old one on 7.0.0 due to my flash not working.
But even if my cord needs to be replace, my cord still connected and charge but the new iTunes asking me to restore the firmware even thou an hr ago i just updated to 8.1? any ideas?

I Would love some help with this as well. I've color corrected and am rendering. I have chosen these settings based on the video files in Premeire.
It gets all the way to 98% and then says "communication with child process failed"
I tried unchecking "strip alpha" as suggested above to no avail.
What is going on? I spent a good deal of time on this and have deadlines and all I want to do is get this graded video back into premeire. Thank you!

Connect the device to a different compuer and back it up there. You should be able to copy off the library to a portable hard drive. See also Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device.

Ipod 160g does not appear on itunes but it appears on windows when in disk mode

my ipod 160 g does not appear in itune (disk mode or not) but it appears in windows as IPOD (F:) only when it's in disk mode. I tried reseting it by holding the menu and center button it stop but then it goes back to the apple logo screen and stay on untill the battery dies and nothing else happens how can I reset it to is factory settings?

When you connect it in Disk Mode, leave it charging the iPod Battery till Full Charge.
In the meantime, 30 minutes or so into the charging, ( I just want the Ipod to have sufficient power for any harddisk Operation)
go to Window Explorer (or My Computer),
Select the Ipod, right click properties, ->tools->error checking->Check Now->fix error
After the error fixing (may take a while but then you still have to wait till the battery charging is complete.)
Disconnect the iPod from the PC.
Antivirus has a tendency to freeze Itunes sync Operation with Ipod Classic, causing a timeout, which corrupt your Ipod filesystem, so when iTunes cant read the iPod, it is pointing to this problem. Other causes is when your iPod hardisk is dying, or your battery is dying causing hardisk crashes.
My suggestion.
Connect your Ipod to the PC and run chkdsk, to fix any iPod diskerror, then disconnect it, after chkdsk complete. - Done above
Disconnect your PC from Internet. (just to make sure no nasties creep into your system while you syncing.
Stop the Antivirus program
Connect your Ipod to the PC
When Itunes Open up, Restore your iPod please, this is for iTunes to map correctly, to fix the corrupted filesystem.
When Restore complete, eject the iPod and reconnect again.
Sync your ipod, preferably manually Manage in small batches and disconnect after every batch, to check that all is well, since you got such a huge library.
When all sync is complete, and iPod disconnected, start back your Antivirus and connect back the Internet.

TS1363 "iPod: Appears in Windows but not in iTunes" Isn't working!

I've tried all of the things in the "iPod: Appears in Windows but not in iTunes" but none of them work.
I'm on Windows 8 and those are the instrucations I've followed.
The only thing I haven't done is reset my computer to factory mode but that Isn't an option for me cause I got saved games that can't be backed up.
I've literaly tried everything in that help page and it doesn't work.
All I get is the iTouch charging, asking me to trust the computer, I say trust, nothing happens, I check the device manager and it doesn't shw the USB no matter what, I restart the ipod services and the apple software services, nothing happens, I completely take dwn my McAfee firewall and scanning system, it doesn't work, restarting it to make sure no viruses attack, uninstalled Razer Synapsis because it has been a pain in the butt before, that doesn't work, I emptied my Temp file and that didn't work, And in the end the iTouch is charging but not even being see by Itunes and no updates, restarts, reinstallations, uninstallations, checking, researching, and anything else I can do works.
Can someone please explain why apple tech is such a pain when it comes to Windows 8 and how I can fix this without losing 2 years worth of school and saved games?!?!?!?

It also sounds like that computer is not authorized for the account. You can only have 5 computers authorized for one account. If yo go to iTunes>Store>View account and then sign in it will tell you how many (but no what computers) are authorized. There is no way to find out what computers are authorized.
You can deauthorize all computer once a year.

Sounds like your iPhone is locked to your home carrier.
See if they offer unlocking and if you qualify. Otherwise,
there is nothing you can do besides rent/but a cheap

Take a look at iTunes for Windows: "Error 7" message when opening iTunes. Perhaps your .NET Framework needs a repair.
For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

If you are running Windows Vista or later, open up your Start Menu and search for "Services."
Click on the icon that looks like a smal gear.
Once you have that window open, Look for the service that says "Apple Mobile Device"
Once you click on it once, to your left of the window, click "Start this service"
After you have done that, with the same service still highlighted, Right click on it then click "Properties"
Once that menu is open, Find the drop down box and make sure the start up is set to "Automatic"
After these steps are completed, you should have no problem with your iPod Touch, or iPhone not showing up in the iTunes window.
