Itunes/apple, wake up and fix your tv shows downloading problems!

What gives with all the messed up tv episodes, there are episodes missing in Prison Break, season 1, as well as other episodes. A quick look at the reviews indicates a long list of upset users. Apple, at least let us know what is going on with all the missing episodes. I downloaded the whole first season of 24 and found one of the episodes wasn't the whole show, it was missing about 10 minutes at the end. Just let us know whats going on here, we're all in the dark!

I just discovered a really bizarre problem with Prison Break season 1. First of all, I bought the entire series and discovered, like many others, there was a duplicate episode. It seems they might be trying to fix this, because they've withdrawn all the later episodes after the duplicate - perhaps renaming and reposting them? But suddenly, my iTunes displays an exclamation mark next to the episode entitled Brother's Keeper (which really is the episode before that), indicating that the file doesn't exist on my disk. And it doesn't! The file has been removed and I did not delete it. It isn't in the trash or anywhere else. But I watched it last night! Has anyone else had experienced anything like this? A file just gone missing? To make things even worse, my purchase history lists all the episodes except this one - it is as if I never bought it! But the total charge on my account shows I bought one more episode and I have the file on my iPod. It's very strange and disturbing this...

No. They never did.
If you are referring to the location info that was saved on your phone that hit the news a year or more ago, then Apple never had access to or stored that information or 'tracked' you. It only existed on the phone as a log file, and the bug that caused it to be stored was fixed a long time ago.

stevejobsfan is correct; iwork for ios is free only for new purchases of new ios devices. A good work around (if you have wifi connectivity) is going to the icloud website on your ipad, and working on your document.
A word of caution (the real reason I am responding to your post). If you do a lot of 'formatting' of a document on iwork for mac, and then save it in icloud; you will probably loose most of the formatting you have done (this will be true if you oppen the document in iwork for ios; also) It happened to me, and I did not duplicate the document before saving it to icloud; I lost at least an hours worth of work.

Ipod does not appear in itunes after windows scan and fix

Two days ago, I restored my Ipod classic using Itunes 9.2.0.61. After restoration my Ipod started freezing Itunes and Vista. At a point, I saw a blue screen and my computer forced a shutdown. When it rebooted, Vista kept asking to automatically "scan and fix" problems on my Ipod. Thinking that would solve the "freeze" problem, I stupidly went ahead to have Vista scan and fix my Ipod. Now the freeze problem is gone, but my Ipod does not appear in Itunes. I have tried the five Rs from Apple, but that has not helped. Anyone with a solution?

1. Update iTunes to the latest version. Plug in your iPod. If iTunes still can't recognize it, then in iTunes in the top left corner click help> run diagnostics. On the box that comes up, check the last two things. Click next and it should identify your iPod.
2. Click on your windows start menu. Type in "services". Click on it and when it pops up, on the bottom of it click on "standard". Now Scroll down to find "Apple Mobile Device" Right click it when you see it and click on "Start". When it has started, close iTunes and replug in your iPod and it should show up.
3. Check the USB cable
4. Verify that Apple Mobile Device Support is installed
5. Restart the Apple Mobile Device Service and verify that the Apple Mobile Device USB Driver is installed.
6. If you just want to add some photos, songs and movies from computer to your devices, you can use an iTunes alternative to do the job.
7. Check for third-party software conflicts.

When I plug ipod into itunes recieve message: scan and fix

Ok, whenever I plug my ipod nano 5th generation into my hp laptop with vista I recieve a message saying 'there might be a problem with some files on this disk/device. This can happen if you remove the disk/device before all files have been written to it.' Then it asks if I want to 'scan and fix (recommended) or continue without scanning. I press 'scan and fix' then another message 'Explorer.EXE: the disk check couldn't be performed as windows cannot access the disk'
What shall I do? Will I have to restore my itunes/ipod, or uninstall itunes.

Valid Purchase Date claims to find and upgrade your device. Why when stolen cant they find it????

All the thief has to do is turn off your location services and the you can not track it, even with the new update you can lock your iCloud but you still can't lock the location services. Thief throws the useless apple device away because you erase and lock your device, and you are out $300 - $3000 cause you still can't track your device!

I have purchased music from itunes on my iphone and it won't show up in my Ipod music library on my phone. It shows up in my itunes library on my computer. This is a recent glitch as up until this week purchased music downloads fine on phone.

I purchased music on itunes on my iphone and the songs won't show up in my music library on the phone. They are on my computer itunes library but it won't let me transfer the purchases back to my phone (which I have never had to do before). Never had this problem before this week when purchasing music on my iphone.
My Itunes library on my laptop is slightly different from my Iphone library so I don't want to erase and sync the entire library.

In iTunes, try signing out of your Apple ID & then back in: click on iTunes Store on the left sidebar of iTunes, click on your Apple ID on the top right, sign out, sign back in. Then try to sync your purchased music to your phone again.

My new Nanno 7 is not recognized by itunes. Removed, reinstalled and updated itunes. Iphone 5s and ipad 3 sync w/o problems. Itunes diagnostics says it isn't recognized by itunes. I'd really like to get some music on it.

If your device is not recognized by iTunes, I would recommend the steps in the article below. Start with the section labeled Verify that the Apple Mobile Device USB Driver is installed > For Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8 > Update the Apple Mobile Device Driver.

Itunes freezes when connecting and ipod does not show up

When I connect my nano 3rd gen in windows vista using itunes 9 my ipod does not show up and itunes freezes. the ipod remains with the connected screen and I cannot close out of itunes. Any help would be wonderful... Thanks!!

I have (finally)solved the problem with my iTunes freezing! Here's what I did:
1.I backed up my entire music library to an external hard drive.
2.Then I completely uninstalled iTunes 9 from my computer.
3.After a re-boot I then completely deleted my entire music library. (this can be a little scary so I double checked my music library back up on the external drive)
4.I Googled iTunes 8 and found it at

5. I downloaded it but before I installed it I copied my music library back to my computer. I did not copy everything that was in my original iTunes music folder however, I only copied the music,album art work, applications,games,Tv shoes, and podcasts folders. I placed those folders in a new folder called iTunes on my computer. I did not include any of the iTunes database files eg: .itl / .xml / or .itdb files as these were created in iTunes 9.
6. Now I opened iTunes 8.2 and added all of my music and other media content.
7. Next I attached my iPod nano to my computer. Then Windows automaticly open a window asking me if I wanted to scan for problems or continue without scanning. I had windows scan for problems and once that was done my iPod nano began to sync. Oh what joy!
I think, and this is only a guess based on what I've read here on Apple's discussion pages and my own experience, that there is a problem/conflict or bug with iTunes 9, Windows Vista and the 3rd -4th generation iPod. I will NOT be upgrading to iTunes 9 until Apple has addressed this issue. It seems to me that there are a lot of people having similar issues.

I just uploaded a iTunes card for $25 and the balance is showing to be 19.66. It was never used. I just redeemed the card for my kids.

It's possible that the previous balance was overspent and so there was an amount owing. Go to the Purchase History and review your purchases to make sure that you should indeed have the full balance left you think you should. If you confirm that you should have a $25 balance left but the iTunes Store isn't showing it correctly, go here:

and follow the instructions to report the issue to the iTunes Store.

Apple TV hanged and is now just showing the apple logo

Guys,
My aTV2 just hanged.
I tried a reset but now she is hanged on the boot and is now just showing the Apple Logo.
I tried another reset by pressing Menu+Down but again now I'm back on the boot and just showing the Apple Logo.
aTV2 LED is blinking.
Any idea on how to do this?

Have you unplugged from power and restarted?
If so, get a micro USB cable, hook it up to a computer with that cable alone, fire up iTunes and do a restore of the AppleTV firmware.
