ITunes application support download error

I started getting an msvrc80.dll error.  Followed instructions to delete and reinstall itunes.  During the install I get a message that the mobile app and application support won't start.  Tried the retry and ignore options, but can't get itunes reinstalled correctly.  Does anyone have any suggestions?

There are a couple of methods for using more than one iPod on a single computer. Method one which has already been described is to have two Mac or Windows user accounts which by definition would give you two completely separate libraries. Method two is to set your preferences so that either one or both iPods get updated with only certain playlists within one library. Have a look at this article and see what you think and go for whichever you feel suits your needs best: How To Use Multiple iPods with One Computer
Another option when using a single library is to set one or both of the iPods to manual update: Managing content manually on iPod
Choosing the update option "automatically update selected playlists only" allows you to create a playlist specifically for each iPod and drag the tracks you want into it. If you tire of the list and want to change it, you just add or remove the songs you don't want. The ones you take out out remain in the library to be used by the other iPod. Make your playlist a Smart playlist and limit the size to just below the advertised capacity of your iPod ( for example, around 3700MB for a 4GB or 1800MB for a 2GB Mini or Nano). You can read more about playlists at these links:

  • I am trying to update my itunes but continue to get a error message after download is complete. The error is say that i need to have apple application support downloaded for the itunes to work. What do I do?? Shouldn't  apple application support be there?

I am trying to update my itunes on my pc. After the download in complete, there is an error message telling me that Apple Application Support needs to be installed for Itunes to work. What do I do?? I've already unistalled and install the download four times and installed WinRAR. Still no success.

These are the steps mentioned in the article iPhone: Troubleshooting activation issues
Perform the following steps if you receive one of the messages above:
    Restart the iPhone.
Try another means of reaching the activation server and attempt to activate.
Try connecting to a known-good Wi-Fi network if you're unable to activate using a cellular data connection.
Try connecting to iTunes if you're unable to activate using Wi-Fi.
    Restore the iPhone.
If you receive an alert message when you attempt to activate your iPhone, try to place the iPhone in recovery mode and perform a restore. If you're still unable to complete the setup assistant due to an activation error, contact Apple for assistance.

  • Itunes application support error 2

I cant load itunes.  getting an application support error 2 message.  can anyone help

Let's try a standalone Apple Application Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of the issue.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:
    http://www.rarlab.com/
Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleApplicationSupport.msi to do a standalone AAS install.
Does it install properly for you? If so, does iTunes launch properly now?
If instead you get an error message during the install, let us know what it says. (Precise text, please.)

  • I keep getting an apple application support missing error. Therefore I cannot get Itunes to work on my PC.

I have downloaded ITunes numerous times on my PC so I can sync with my Ipad and Iphone. I get "congratulations" you have downloaded ITunes followed by a message stating that apple application support is missing. Is there a way to download this as a stand alone?

  • Apple Application Support Installation Error "8.0.microsoft.vc80.CRT"

When I tried to upgrade to the latest iTunes on my Vista system, I get the following: "error occurred during installation of assembly policy 8.0.microsoft.vc80.CRT." I have tried several suggestions on various threads here, including this one: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2251840&tstart=0&messageID=107 35122#10735122 all with no success.
I have used WinRar to open the iTunes installer to check each .msi, and it appears the culprit is Apple Application Support.
Looking at some of the other threads on this problem, it seems like the folooiwng information is needed: I am running Vista Ultimate (64-bit). The only update I've had fail recently and consistently is Update for Microsoft XML Core Services 4.0 Service Pack 2 KB973688 with error code 643, but error code 80070003 when I downloaded it separately and tried to install. I currently have a copy of Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable and Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable (x64) on my installed programs list. Can provide more details, if needed.
I would appreciate any help. I am getting pretty close to thinking I need to go nuclear and re-install my OS.

    Hi
You are looking in the right place for solutions to this, b noir has been most involved.
There seem to be two main issues - failure of Windows Updates and the Visual C++ 2005 redistributable issue.
If you search the forum for redistributable limited to the user name b noir, you should find helpful material.
If your Windows updates are failing, you can search the Microsoft site for the error number, here is an example:

  • ITunes Application Support Won't Install

Whenever I try to install iTunes an error (Error 2) pops up saying that the application support is not available and tells me to unistall then reinstall the program. I do and the same thing still appears. I've tried multiple installations, turning off my fire wall and anti-virus. Nothing has worked. This is really frustrating because I can't access my iTunes account and I have no idea how to fix it.

With the Error 2, let's try a standalone Apple Application Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of the issue.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:

Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:

Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleApplicationSupport.msi to do a standalone AAS install.

  • Adobe Application Manager Download Error (and other problems)

Last week I purchased a Creative Cloud membership (Student and Teacher Edition, if that matters at  all).  When I tried to download applications, the Adobe Application Manager seemed to be unable to connect and instead displayed "Download Error. Press Retry to try again or contact customer support."  I read some of the responses to this problem on the forums, and after trying several things, I got it to work (I'm honestly not sure what I did that caused it to work).  However, it is now failing to work again and I can't seem to fix it this time.  As an additional problem, When I tried to open Adobe Premiere Pro (which I managed to download when I got the App Manager working for a while), I got the opening screen that asked me to open a project or start a new project.  No matter what I clicked on, Premiere Pro closed with an error message. Just as with the App Manager (and at the same time), I managed to get Premiere Pro to work (it seemed to work after I set permissions so I thought I solved it), so I was able to use it for a day.  However, now the problem has returned.
I don't know if these two problems are related, but they started working at the same time and stopped working at the same time, so I'm posting them together in case there is a connection.  I am running Windows Vista on my home computer.  I can sign on to the creative cloud online without problem so it recognizes me as a creative cloud subscriber.  My Internet connection is working fine.  I have disabled all firewalls and it still doesn't work.  Very frustrating, obviously.
Thanks for your time and any help or suggestions you can give.

Kardypaine for your Internet configuration difficulties I would recommend reviewing Sign in or activation errors | CS6, CS5.5 Subscriptions, CS6 Perpetual - http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/activation-network-issues.html.
For the failure of Premiere Pro to open you will want to review the install log to see if you received an installation error.  You can find details on how to locate and interpret the installation logs at Troubleshoot with install logs | CS5, CS5.5, CS6 - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/troubleshoot-install-logs-cs5-cs5.html.

  • *FIX?* Adobe Application Manager - Download Error (Creative Cloud)

So I just started the subscription for the Creative Cloud and I downloaded the Adobe Application Manager, which seemed to have installed fine, and when I go into my creative cloud and click download, under for example photoshop, I get Download Error - Contact Customer Support in my AAM (Adobe Application Manager). I have tried many things that people in the forums have suggested from turing off my firewalls, to uninstalled and restarting my computer, I downloaded the most up to date AAM. Any other suggestions? I just got my subscription literally moments ago so I am a little bummed I can't access any of my new software.
I am using a Mac, if that makes any different. Hope someone can help.
Also, when I go to open up the AAM without clicking download for a adobe product the same Download Error pops up.
*So I may have fixed the problem accidentally, I downloaded a trial of photoshop. When I downloaded the photoshop trial it allowed me to use my subscription for my creative cloud. It also had me download the Adobe Download Assistant. I think the Adobe Download Assistant was the thing I was missing, now my AAM seems to let me download the rest of the programs I need. Hope this helps anybody else.*

TGarcia if you are on a managed network then please work with your I.T. department to ensure that the Adobe Application Manager/PDApp.exe has proper access to the Internet.
If you are on a non-managed network then please see Sign in or activation errors | CS6, CS5.5 Subscriptions, CS6 Perpetual - http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/activation-network-issues.html.

  • Adobe Application Manager Download Error

I'm having problems with installing the Adobe Application Manager (latest version) on my iMac running OSX 10.7.3. I've attached a screen shot of the error message I get when launching Adobe Application Manager.
I've managed to successfully install it on my MacBook Air also running OSX 10.7.3. Any help would be much appreciated.

  • Application Manager Download Error

I downloaded and installed the Adobe Application Manager and it worked finr the first time, but upon subsequent tries it fails to open correctly. I contacted support and they worked through the problem, having me change a few names on some associated program files on my hard drive and downloading it again. This allowed it to work properly but only the first time i opened it. It is again giving me the "Download Error - Contact Support". Surely there is a way to resolve this without having to rename files and redownload everytime.
Any help is greatly appreciated. This is on Windows 7.
