Itunes asking password everytime for sync

Hi, I own a 2nd generation ipod touch. whenever i start itunes and want to sync my ipod, it asks for me to activate the computer im using. So i have to enter my itunes account and password. Once that is done itunes tells me: this computer has ALREADY been activated. it annoys me, that i have to type in my password everytime i want to sync my ipod. My brother doesnt have to do that. If i dont activate my computer, all my applications get deleted. I already tried reinstalling itunes. Is there anything i can do.
Thnx

- Did you look at iTunes->Preferences->Apple TV (icon), is "Look for Apple TV" checked? Also on the same dialog box you should see apple TV listed.
- I had something similar also. "Apple TV" disappeared from my iTunes device all the time (so i could not change sync settings), it started to happen when I turned the wireless security ON (even when ATV could see my iTunes library). I finally found the problem. This was the solution, maybe it could help you also?
1) Go to iTunes preference and go to Apple TV as described above. Remove Apple TV if it is listed.
2) Go to your Applet TV, select "Sources" from the Main menu. Select Resync off and on. Now you we will see the security number that should be entered on iTunes.
3) On your iTune enter the security number.
4) Now the "Apple TV" device should be back in iTunes and watch out it will resync everything, it takes a while, also check your sync settings, because the originals will be lost, as what type of movies, photo library you want).
Let me know if it helps. class=otherinfo>PowerMac dual G5 (2ghz)   Mac OS X (10.4.9)   Aiport extreem (n)

    My iTunes asking password from backup my iPad,but i don't know passworad.

    Hi Denis_Chumichev,
    If you have encrypted your iTunes backup, please keep trying to remember your password.
    iTunes: About iOS backups
    Warning: Make sure it's a password that you'll remember or write it down for safekeeping. If you encrypt an iPhone backup in iTunes and forget your password, you can't restore from backup and your data will be unrecoverable.
    If you can't remember the password and want to start again, you must perform a full software restore and choose set up as a new device when iTunes prompts you to select the backup from which to restore.
    Take care,

  • TS3297 why is itunes asking me repeatedly for my password when i try to purchase a song??  i have put the password in over 30 times and still will not connect

    i tunes repeatedly asks for my password when i attempt to purchase a song/movie etc.  anyone else have this issue??  the password works fine for everything except buying something....

    Same issue. I complete one purchase and on the next one I get stuck in an endless loop of it asking for my password over and over. I have to close iTunes, reopen and it's fine, but that is ridiculous to do for every purchase.

  • Have to provide my Wireless Network password EVERYTIME to sync AppleTV

    Is this right? Everytime I want my AppleTV to sync to my iTunes I have to go onto AppleTV and put in my password for my Wirless Network (Airport Express with AirTunes). Is this normal? Also my AppleTV always drops away from "Devices" in iTunes after that tedious sync I just described above......am I doing everything correctly? why does it keep dropping it? Sometimes if I close & reopen iTunes it finds my AppleTV, but rarely......and I don't want to have to do this each time I want to resync my AppleTV. Thanks in advance,

  • I just got a new iPad mini, will iTunes charge me extra for syncing my music onto it? How do I get the music off?

    I tried syncing my iPod and iPad together and then I was told that I will be charged twice as much for doing this. How do I turn it off? I tried turning off my music in Settings but the music is still there.

    Hi Marmee14,
    If your Apps were purchased with his Apple ID, it will still require his Apple ID to update them.  If they were purchased with your Apple ID then it will use yours.  Apps are linked to the Apple ID they are purchased with.
    If, for some reason his Apple ID is set somewhere in the system, this article gives how to change it.
    Apple ID: What to do after you change your Apple ID
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5796
    For example:
    App Store
    iOS 6 and later: Go to Settings > iTunes & App Store.
    If you signed out before changing your Apple ID, sign in with your current Apple ID.
    If you're still signed in with your previous Apple ID, tap your previous Apple ID and tap Sign Out. Then enter your current Apple ID to sign in.
    Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

  • Switched computers, iTunes not recognizing songs for sync. HELP!

    So my mother has been consolidating content from her older laptop on to her newer desktop. Today she decided to do iTunes while I was at work. From what she told me, she uninstalled iTunes off of her laptop (which was where she was buying/syncing/etc.) and then installed iTunes in to the desktop and plugged it in. She's got a decent sized library (200-300) songs, but now every time it syncs, it only syncs 3 songs, which she said were either bought or listened to today. When you click on "iPod" in iTunes when it's plugged in, and go to "Music", the checkbox next to "Sync all Music" is checked, but in parenthesis it says "3 songs". If you go to her library, all of her 200+ songs are there and can be listened to, but the syncing process won't recognize them.
    Didn't know if anyone here has had this issue and could be of help. I usually just google search this crap, but didn't know how to consolidate everything from the first paragraph in to a short google search. So if anyone can lend any help, it'd be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

    Resolved. She uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes this morning before I woke up and apparently she was then able to get all of her music. I'm guessing there was a question she answered wrongly when first plugging the iPod in to the new desktop that screwed it up, but uninstalling and reinstalling the program "reset" it.

  • I was having trouble getting to ITunes. asked several people for a fix. well i found one, Try this it worked for me. Try this.

    Try this, several people complained of the same problem, they reset winsock..Start --> Programs --> Accessories (Right Click on Command Prompt) --> Run as Administrator then type in: Netsh winsock reset
    Hit enter, restart PC, open iTunes, go to Store

    With option #1 -- I modified and rebuilt the 3rd-party JARs and referenced them in NetBeans. When I choose clean and build, the Ant processes results in an error: "jarsigner returns 1". So it doesn't seem to run at all.As long as you rebuilt the jars correctly without the original signature, I think it should work.
    An example of unsigning a jar using ant is here:
    http://frank.zinepal.com/unsign-a-jar-with-ant
    Do you think the multiple-JNLP idea would work if NetBeans didn't apply "my" signature to the 3rd-party JARs? Aside from manually copying the original JARs into the \dist directory, is there a better way to tell NetBeans to leave the 3rd-party JAR alone (ie, don't sign it again)?I think it's supposed to work (it's the mixed code signing situation I referred to in my prior post).
    For example, from your description it sounds like the default NetBeans build doesn't really support this style of deployment, so you would have to create a custom build which does what you need and is not triggered by NetBeans - which is doable, but annoying - it's sounds like you tried this, but were unable to get it to work as expected. For NetBeans specific help, you are better posting to a NetBeans forum (though you might be just the second person who has tried to do this with a JavaFX app).
    Also need to check the end user experience is acceptable too, because I think the dialog and warning handling for the mixed code situation is different.
    Look at the deployment guide section "Using <fx:resources> for Extension Descriptors" - I think it documents how to do what you want if you use a custom build file rather than letting NetBeans do the work:
    http://docs.oracle.com/javafx/2/deployment/javafx_ant_task_reference002.htm#CIABGCEE
    Hmm, a lot of running around to deploy an app which can open a file . . .

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    ‘iPad is disabled’ fix without resetting using iTunes
    Today I met my match with an iPad that had a passcode entered too many times, resulting in it displaying the message ‘iPad is disabled – Connect to iTunes’. This was a student iPad and since they use Notability for most of their work there was a chance that her files were not all backed up to the cloud. I really wanted to just re-activate the iPad instead of totally resetting it back to our default image.
    I reached out to my PLN on Twitter and had some help from a few people through retweets and a couple of clarification tweets. I love that so many are willing to help out so quickly. Through this I also learned that I look like Lt. Riker from Star Trek (thanks @FillineMachine).
    Through some trial and error (and a little sheer luck), I was able to reactivate the iPad without loosing any data. Note, this will only work on the computer it last synced with. Here’s how:
    1. Configurator is useless in reactivating a locked iPad. You will only be able to completely reformat the iPad using Configurator. If that’s ok with you, go for it – otherwise don’t waste your time trying to figure it out.
    2. Open iTunes with the iPad disconnected.
    3. Connect the iPad to the computer and wait for it to show up in the devices section in iTunes.
    4. Click on the iPad name when it appears and you will be given the option to restore a backup or setup as a new iPad (since it is locked).
    5. Click ‘Setup as new iPad’ and then click restore.
    6. The iPad will start backing up before it does the full restore and sync. CANCEL THE BACKUP IMMEDIATELY. You do this by clicking the small x in the status window in iTunes.
    7. When the backup cancels, it immediately starts syncing – cancel this as well using the same small x in the iTunes status window.
    8. The first stage in the restore process unlocks the iPad, you are basically just cancelling out the restore process as soon as it reactivates the iPad.
    If done correctly, you will experience no data loss and the result will be a reactivated iPad. I have now tried this with about 5 iPads that were locked identically by students and each time it worked like a charm.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Try it and good luck. You have nothing more to lose if it doesn't work for you.
     Cheers, Tom

  • I have changed operator and also changed IOS and did a back up of my old phone in Itunes so i would keep all my contacts etc. Now when i want to get everything back in the phone, Itunes asks me for a password, which i do not have. How to bypass this?

    I have changed operator and also changed IOS and did a back up of my old phone in Itunes so i would keep all my contacts etc. Now when i want to get everything back in the phone, Itunes asks me for a password, which i do not have since i did not enter any password when i did the back up. Is there any way I can bypass this password request? Otherwise i have lost all my contacts etc.
    Greatful for help.

    Contacts are designed to be synced to a supported application on the computer or a cloud service like Gmail, iCloud, or an Exchange server.
    Have you failed to use the device as designed?

  • How can I remove an account and apps from another user from my Ipod. My nephew used to live with me and everytime I sync my Ipod his stuff is added to mine. I have no way to contact him for his password.

    I need to know how to remove an iTunes account associated with my computer. My nephew used to live with me but has moved out. Everytime I sync my iPod touch his stuff is added to my device. I have no way to contact him to get his password. How can I make this go away. He listened to music that is very offensive to me and I dont want it in my library or playlists. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you in advance,
    Shelly

    You can use computer iTunes to help.
    Connect your iPod Touch to Computer's iTunes
    In iTunes, select your iPod Touch under DEVICES (left pane).
    On right pane select Music at the top.
    Now you can de-select the music/playlist or anything you don't want and click Sync button bottom right.
    You can do the above for Apps, Books, etc.
    You can of course, de-authorize the computer in iTunes menu Store.
    Note: That will make everything using his AppleID inaccessible.

  • My itunes store ask password for wrong id while updating apps in iphone 5s

    I bought a new iphone 5s few days before. I have made all the setting and have logged using my old apple id and password.
    While installing a new apps it verify my current apple id and there is no problem. Today I got an update notification that Facebook has new update and when I went to app store and click on update, it ask me to enter password for some different id which is not even mine([email protected]).
    I tried few process like login in itunes from my macbook and then sync the mobile with it, delete icloud/apple id and relogging in, but none of this has worked.
    I even change the passowrd of apple id and logged in , and still the same , it keep asking password for apple id which is not even mine or registered in my iphone.
    I don't know what is the problem here. Have anybody faced similar issue and can help?

    You need to delete the app. If it's built-in, then sign out.
    All content is forever tied to the Apple ID used to obtain them.
    Content bought cannot be merged or transferred to another Apple ID.

  • What to do when your iPad keeps asking for the iTunes Store Password

    I was using my iPad last night when it just started asking for my iTunes store password and I was browsing the web in safari. I just entered it and scratched my head. Later I was playing a game - the same prompt interrupted the game.
    http://skitch.com/mbrad/dru2p/full-screen
    It happened about five times before I finally went to the settings app and signed out of the app store. I don't think it's related to any one app since the prompt was happening at seemingly random intervals no matter what I was doing (even on the home screen with no app "running")
    Signing out seems to have corrected the problem. Apps still run and I will try signing in again later once I need to download anything. I haven't done much other than update 5 apps earlier in the day.
    Does anyone else have experience on what caused this?
    Here's what it's not:
    1) Time - I checked the date/time on the iPad - they were within seconds of my mac which sets time automatically on the internet.
    2) Password wrong - I downloaded a free app from the store app on the device after entering the password - so the password was fine for a purchase/download after the prompt. (Yet the prompt came back again within 30 minutes)
    Thanks,
    Mike

    Thanks for the suggestion! I did have two downloads for free songs I got from a card at Starbucks. They started but never came on my iPad (and that was 4 days ago). The store error is happening only yesterday - possible but a long time after the "failed download". I just got those songs after your suggestion on my mac by checking for available downloads. Maybe that was the root cause?
    Add rebooting to "here's what it's not" - I forgot to write that down. Also - I was not interested in restoring the iPad - like taking a firehose to water a flower, that certainly would fix it at cost of overkill. (and maybe only until the backup was restored if the file causing the issue is something that would be backed up).
    The problem seems to be that the device either doesn't save the password or something is causing it to be periodically marked as bad. Both ideas have me scratching my head. Rebooting didn't resolve the issue - only signing out from the store.
