Itunes at the office

our office purchased Ipod shuffles for all the employees. We are trying to figure out if there is a way to have itunes on one main office computer and have everyone be able to share music off of it. Is that possible? As it is, it blanks anything you already have off of your ipod and re-syncs it every time. I dont want my ipod re-synced every time i plug it in at work. Even if I just want to charge it, it blanks the ipod. Any suggestions?

As it is, it blanks anything you

In iTunes "settings" tab for your Shuffle (click on your Shuffle in Devices on the left side of iTunes window), UNcheck "Open iTunes when this iPod is attached", scroll down and click APPLY. Now you'll be able to charge without iTunes "updating" your Shuffle...

    If you have an iBook G4, (PPC) you can't do much.
    But if that is a MacBook (intel) you may be able to
    upgrade the OS X, if the hardware is up to it...

    it can't go online to get or use OS X 10.7.5. So,

  • Can my colleagues access my itunes account and all of the apps in there from their own pcs? What we really need is a shared itunes account so that anyone in the office can add apps to the account and everyone else will be able to access it?

    I have an itunes account to update the office ipad. Now we have more of them can my colleagues access my itunes account including the apps to update their ipads with? it seems silly for everyone to have a seperate account and purchase apps that i have already bought.  We just want to share and update one account that everyone can use and access from their own pc.

    Unless I am missing the point here - or in the event that there are different terms and conditions for the use of iPad in the Enterprise with regard to iTunes purchases - once you have purchased an app - you are free to download that app again - at no charge - to as many iDevices as you desire - as long as you are using the same Apple ID and iTunes account that you used to make the original purchase.
    So the short answer to the question - IMHO - is Yes! My wife, my daughter and I share one iTunes account and we download apps onto four different iDevices - and only pay for the apps once. The purchases are tied to the Apple/iTunes account and not to the PC or the iDevice.
    The only caveat to this point is - I have no idea how Apple handles purchase for businesses meaning that I don't know if businesses are subject to the same terms and conditions as we "everyday" users.
    Maybe the company could set up one iTunes account and you could all share from there but I still don't see why this can't be done. However, that is why I suggest that this question might be better served being posted in the iPad in the Enterprise section of the ASC.

    Very frustrated now that I have recently installed itunes and outlook on this new computer.  Everything worked perfectly ok on my laptop which was also 64-bit Windows 7 and running 32-bit Microsoft Office 2010 Pro.  I have multiple email accounts set up in Outlook tho only use contacts and calendar in relation to one of these. Cannot sync itunes with the correct contacts and calendars, when I sync the calendar and contacts are empty.  Not sure if there is any way to point itunes to particular address books and calendars.
    I have installed and uninstalled itunes 3 times and thank goodness have a backup

    I had my home computer set up to sync to work's Exchange server. It worked well, but I didn't like seeing work email messages and other programs trying to sync with my default Outlook folder, which was then the Exchange (& work related) .ost file. I know there are various ways to manage those problems using filters, view, subfolders, etc., but it was a hassle for me. I think it could work well for many other folks.
    For now, I have published my work calendar and subscribed to that calendar on my home computer. So I have view only access to my calendar on my home computer (and I can add/edit calendar items on my iPad (or Outlook Web Access) when away from work). This is not quite what I wanted, but it may work.
    It almost makes me long for the days when I used my Windows Mobile Treo to sync back and forth between exchange at work and outlook at home (but had many sync conflicts as a result).

    Sync ith only one computer. When you sync with the second anything acquired from the first computer will be erased. Syncing back with the first computer will erase everything synced from the second computer.
    Put all your stuff on one of the computers and sync with only that one.

  • I recently updated my iTunes to the new version. For some reason the titles and details of songs on the SONGS page do not appear, although the songs will play. Has anyone else had this problem? Every other page seems to be ok.

    I recently updated my iTunes to the new version. When I opened it I found that there were no details listed on the SONGS page. On all other pages the relevant pictures/details appear. Although there are no details showing on the songs page, the songs are obviously there as when you click on a line it plays the song that should be listed. Has anyone else had this problem? (I am using a Windows XP Pro system on my Laptop).

    I'm getting tired of people who supposedly know what

    Thanks for the suggestion... but I think my first question would be why these parameters would need re-setting? This is a new machine... It has never been shut down hard. It is used at most 10 hours per week... mostly using Office 2004 for MAC. I need to figure this out as I will soon need it as a Cs2/CS3 - Aperture workhorse.
    I too agree that it is best not to use a sledge when a scalpel is needed... but as a novice to the MAC world I may have been misled by Apple support. I seems to have fixed the symptoms ( some) but appears NOT to have addressed the cause... which is what I am after.
    Would TechTool Pro detect a bad HD or RAM?

    Do you mean a USB adapter to send audio to the speakers?
    You would need to use the audio control panel to send the computer audio to this output device.

    Currently I'm using W7 Ent 64bit at the office. I have WXP pro 32bit at home.
    I want to download 32bit version of Windows iTunes, while I'm working on my W7 Ent 64bit at the office. See?

    I have never heard such a thing like machine dependent off-line downloads!
    Situation 2
    What's more... consider I am a sys-op of a pool of Windows machines that are a mixture of WXP, W7 which are 32 and 64 bits. And I'm assigend to install iTunes to all. What could be more logical than first downloding the appropriate iTunes packages, then installing accordingly?
    Oh, BTW...
    I have a 512MB PIII-733 machine which runs W2K... I wonder what reply will I get when I ask...
    "How can I find previous versions of iTunes?"... because 10.6.xxx requires 1GB of memory.

  • Err = -3259 when downloading the office season 3...

    I've purchased and downloaded other small TV shows and clips before, and I often purchase music from the iTunes store, but for some reason I cannot download The Office Season 3. I purchased the season pass earlier today.
    The error I'm getting is 3259, network connection timed out, but I know that is not the case.
    Any ideas?

    I am also getting the error. I have a 54 Mbps connection, have Windows firewall on but iTunes as an exception, and use AVG for virus protection. iTunes worked great until last week.
    On another forum, it said to restart the router ... but I'm not sure how to do that. Please help!

  • Cannot download the rest of the Office Season 3

    I purchased The Office Season 3 for 34.99. It began to download, and did download the first 12 episodes, but then it said that it was downloading, but when you went to the "Downloading" page in itunes, it was empty. Now, the downloading page is gone, and I still only have 12 episodes.
    There goes my money...

  • TV Show the Office (Bug with early season download)

    I've been being buying The Office TV Show video downloads but I noticed that the 1st few episodes of the second season I bought come up as Season 0 on my iPod and nothing under season in my iTunes Library, but if you look at the episode info if does show the correct season.
    How can I get this fixed so I don't have Season 1, Season 0, and Season 2.

    If you want to edit the metadata of a video I would recomend using Lostify.

  • Can't scan to 1 Mac in the office with HP OfficeJet Pro X576dw MFP

    Hi, We recently moved offices, and after getting to the new location all computers have been able to connect to the Network printer in the office for printing and scanning.  We have both PC and Macs in the office and all are working fine. One of the Mac computers is able to print, but none of the scan options are available. Running Mac OS 10.10.4, have run all the Mac updates and have deleted and reinstalled the printer software.  Any help is appreciated.

    Try updating the software by following these steps:
    First ensure the printer is powered on and connected to your Mac or to the same network.
    Click the Apple icon, then select About This Mac.
    Click on Software Update, then click the top Store menu of the shown window and click on Reload Page.
    Be sure to install any HP or Apple update, then check for any difference.
    If the same persists, manually try installing the package below:

    Using an old broken iphone 3rd generation at the office.. broken face and back, no SIM card to run itunes and spotify through the stereo using wifi.
    Decided to update the spotify application (thus, the phone) and plugged in to restore the phone settings.  Apple upgraded the phones operating system, and now I have NO access to the phone ... in set up it requires a SIM card.
    How do I bypass this so I can return to listening to music? To update the spotify app?  I need this as an itouch and it's not offering me the option....

    You cannot activate without a sim.
    You need a sim in the iPhone to activate it after the
    update. The sim does not need to be associated with an active
    account; but if the iPhone is locked to a wireless provider, the sim
    needs to be from that wireless provider.

    Decide which iPhone will be keeping the current iCloud account.  On the one that will be changing accounts, if you have any photos in photo stream that are not in your camera roll or backed up somewhere else save these to your camera roll by opening the photo stream album in the thumbnail view, tapping Edit, then tap all the photos you want to save, tap Share and tap Save to Camera Roll.  If you are syncing Notes with iCloud, you'll also have to email your notes to yourself so they can be recreated in the new account as they cannot be migrated.
    Once this is done, go to Settings>iCloud, scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account.  (This will only delete the account from this phone, not from iCloud.  The phone that will be keeping the account will not be effected by this.)  When prompted about what to do with the iCloud data, be sure to select Keep On My iPhone.  Next, set up a new iCloud account using a different Apple ID (if you don't have one, tap Get a Free Apple ID at the bottom).  Then turn iCloud data syncing for contacts, etc. back to On, and when prompted about merging with iCloud, choose Merge.  This will upload the data to the new account.
    Finally, to un-merge the data you will then have to go to icloud.com on your computer and sign into each iCloud account separately and manually delete the data you don't want (such as deleting your wife's data from your account, and vice versa).
