Probably corrupted on download. Delete from library and go to iTunes Store > purchased and redownload.

Jim has a very good suggestion. There are many factors at work here:
1) How are you connecting the external drive to the computer?
2) How big are files (329 x 1MB is not the same as 329 x 25MB)?
3) What is your computer specification?
4) Do you have any power saving settings on (in particular something that would send the computer/hard drives to sleep)?

If the iPhone is locked to a US carrier, you cannot use the SIM card of another carrier on it to either activate it or use the iPhone.
If you want to use your iPhone with China unicom, you need to get it unlocked by your US carrier. Contact them to see what their unlocking policy is and if you qualify.

In Safari's preferences:
Look in the folder displayed where you see the arrow. The actual Downloads folder is found in your Home (user) folder.

Downloaded a movie to rent...terms and conditions does not give me a place to "Agree" so it won't complete

I tried to download a movie to rent. It appears to have completed, it says I've already rented it, however the terms and conditions pops up and I am unable to "agree" as there is NO place to click agree! Does anyone know how to get that part to click on?

What you are seeing is the normal display in the iTunes App downloads page when all downloads have been completed. To go to another page, tap one of the icons at the bottom of the page.
The iTunes app is just a portal to the iTunes store. Once your purchases are downloaded, use the iPod app to play music or the Videos app to play videos.
Tap the home button to exit the iTunes (store) app and tap videos (usually in the dock at the bottom of any home page. If you have more than one kind of video on your iPad, select the category you want from the buttons along the top (such as 'Rentals", "Movies", "TV Shows" or "Music Videos"). Then tap the thumbnail for the video you want to play.

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.
iOS: Forgot passcode or device disabled
If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

When I try to play them it says it's playing but I can't hear anything. It does not even says it's played the whole way. It just stays at the beginning. It won't let me pause. It sounds like there is an issue burning CD's in iTunes. Is the playback issue only occurring on a specific device and does the disc show up correctly in iTunes? Did you look in the Videos app? That's where movies will appear.

I clicked restore, restore and update. Update began, itunes recognized the device by name and gave error message that stated I must have the passcode to restore. There was no option to restore as new. I attempted to restore the iphone 4s on another computer by instaling itunes, but same error messages appeared. I contacted Verizon and they said they could not help me. The nearest apple retail store is over 40 miles away. PLEASE HELP!

Placing your device into recovery mode:
Follow these steps to place your iOS device into recovery mode. If your iOS device is already in recovery mode, you can proceed immediately to step 6.
     1. Disconnect the USB cable from the iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, but leave the other end
         of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
     2. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the
         red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.
          If you cannot turn off the device using the slider, press and hold the Sleep/Wake
          and Home buttons at the same time. When the device turns off, release the Sleep/Wake
          and Home buttons.
     3. While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device.
         The device should turn on. Note: If you see the screen pictured below, let the device
         charge for at least ten minutes to ensure that the battery has some charge, and then
         start with step 2 again.
     4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen.
         When this screen appears you can release the Home button.
     5. If necessary, open iTunes. You should see the following "recovery mode" alert:

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try another cable
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

However, after your remove the Apple software components also remove the iCloud Control Panel via Windows Programs and Featurs appin the Window Control Panel. Then reinstall all the Apple software components
