ITunes audiobooks

Can audiobooks (eg. Harry Potter which is soooo expensive) purchased from iTunes music store be loaded on multiple iPods similar to those purchased from audible.com?

How do I transfer my itunes audiobook to my iphone?

The same way you transfer anything.
    Sync it.

  • How is content on iTunes Audiobooks screened?

While browsing iTunes Audiobooks I came across selections dealing with incest/paedophilia/****. Why are these there in an unfiltered site?

I purchased a nice AppleTV october 2010. since then I have seen tons of content disappear. The content is absolutely dismal. Where have the podcasts gone?? MSNBC is leaving, and more and more... why did Apple mislead it's followers with promises of expanding content when in fact it is disappearing. One or two movies (crappy ones at that) a month added is not right.
the shows are unwatchable, no classics, just low junk.
WHAT GIVES APPLE?? I have already made the decision to never purchase another itunes music item ever again due to extreme low quality bit rates (lofi) and their policy of not letting you re download if you lose your machine, HD failure etc.. they are getting pretty bad at content and charging premium. I now purchase cd's on line for 2-3 dollars and burn 600-800 kbps. so i can actually hear the msuic when i play it through my real speakers.. difference is stunning.. BAD APPLE!

  • How to redownload an itunes audiobook that only partially downloaded?

How to redownload an itunes audiobook that only partially downloaded?

Audiobooks are currently a one-time only download from the store, so if it didn't download properly then you will need to contact iTunes Support, which you can either do via the 'report a problem' page : http://reportaproblem.apple.com
Or (and ff the 'report a problem' link doesn't work) then you can try this page : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/- click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption

  • ITunes audiobook downloaded but missing from Music app

I purchased and downloaded an audiobook from iTunes but it does not show up in the Audiobooks section of the Music app.
It shows up on the device when I enter the title in the iOS7 Search bar (so it definitely downloaded).
It will play when I tap on the Search hit (so it downloaded successfully).
When I tap the "back" button while it's playing I get to the "Audobooks" page in the Music app: but the book isn't shown in the list of available titles!
So it's on my device but can only be accessed via Search.
    I've force-quit the Music app.
    I've hard-rebooted by iPhone 5.
I haven't synched to my Mac in 2 years (not even sure my Mac iTunes is up to date)

The exact same thing happened to me - I downloaded an Audiobook and it entered a black hole. This is ridiculous! I even tried pluggin it into my iMac and transferring purchases to my computer and then syncing it again that way and it did not fix the problem. It seems though that other audiobooks that I did purchase on my Mac and then transferred to my iPhone worked fine, but I'd rather not have to plug it in to my Mac.

  • Brining cd from iTunes audiobook download

When I go to burn the audio book I bought on iTunes store
I click "Burn Disc" it then prompts me to load a blank disk I do but it does nothing just keeps telling me to load a blank disk and does not begin burning.
Apple needs better support including on phone like Audible audio and others.

I'm having the exact same problem- on the road, we wanted to download and listen to an audiobook. everything seemed ok- the charge even shows up on my credit card bill online- it just won't get past 'processing.' other forums for this problem have suggested resetting the iPhone, which I've tried, with no success. I have no idea what to do

  • Audiobooks from CD not appearing in "iTunes Audiobook Library"

I have the iTunes 7, I recently bought some audio books that were on CD & uploaded them to iTunes, they only appear in the Music Library in iTunes. I would like to have them only appear in the Audiobook Library in iTunes & in the Audiobook section in my ipod. Is there a way I can do this?
Note: I've already tried some suggestion from the web such as renaming the file extension from .m4a to m4b, removing the old tags then re adding them back to iTunes with no success.

I am having the same problem. It also exists with videos. Some video pieces that I create appear under "Movies" and the rest are scattered in my music library. All have a m4v extension. Weird!

  • ITunes Audiobooks icon keeps disappearing

I have successfully imported dozens of Audible Audiobooks to iTunes. But the Audiobooks icon/folder in the Library is not displayed when I launch iTunes.
To make it reappear, I redownload a book from Audible, import it to iTunes using the Audible Download Manager, and the Audiobooks icon magically reappears in iTunes.
As long as the Audiobooks icon is displayed, I can play and sync my Audible content.
The next time I launch iTunes, the Audiobooks is gone again and I have to repeat the process.
Please let me know what I have to do to make the Audiobooks icon be present every time I launch iTunes. It is a most irritating bug.

When I try to edit the preferences in iTunes to show Audiobooks, I get the following message:
"An error occurred while updating the default player for audio file types. You do not have enough access privileges for this operation."
In spite of the message, the Audiobooks folder displays, but it's not there again when I launch iTunes.
The message displays regardless of whether the "use iTunes as the default player for audio files" option is checked or not.
All I want is for the Audiobooks folder to stay. The default player settings do not matter to me at all.

Can't figure what happened to my new audiobooks. Now that I have Tiger, when I buy a book I just can't get it to open up in Itunes.

  • When will iTunes audiobook purchases be 'Matched'?

So I dont need to sync them to iPhone
or buy all my Audiobooks from Audible (which has the same content but a Cloud service :/ )???

    Hi,
iTunes Match is for music (and music videos purchased from iTunes Store) only. It is not possible to match audiobooks at present and I doubt whether Apple can will do this.
Audiobooks purchased from Audible can be synced to your iOS devices like audiobooks purchased from iTunes Store.

  • How do I get mp3 audiobooks on disks into itunes audiobooks?

I have a bunch of audiobooks that come on disk in mp3 format. I have not figured out how to get them into the audiobooks section on itunes. They all go to the music section. You would think you could drag it out of the music section into the audiobooks section but it doesn't work. Any suggestions?

Since they are mp3 files they cannot go into the audiobooks section. At least not directly. Never done it myself but if iTunes can convert from mp3 to aac you should be able to move the files. (Itunes will actually move the files)
Essentially the files must be in from audible.com format or in AAC format with .m4b extension instead of .m4a (default AAC).
    Check this out.

  • Having problems buring unabridged iTunes audiobooks (not Audible)

I need help. I just spent $100 on the Hitchhiker series. I bought it from iTunes rather than Audible because I'd never heard of Audible, and now it looks like I'm stuck. I'm trying to burn these files to CD-R to listen to at home.
These files come in PARTS, not chapters, each part running in excess of two hours. I've broken up each file into separate playlists for each part, as was recommended here on the boards and the iTunes help. I then spent the last three hours f*ing with the burner: every CD I tried to burn was spit back at me with a 4310 error, then with a 4280 error (I changed the burn speed which seemed to help, then just kept pushing the CD back in and eventually it would burn, but that's another post altogether).
My problem is this: when I played back my CDs to see if they worked THE CDS CUT OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF TRACKS. The second disk started in the middle of a sentence. When I load them into iTunes there's NO TAG INFORMATION so I have no idea what's on there, I just know from looking at the four tracks on a single disk, each one 20 minutes long, that that's definitely not the chapters. And finally, any and all help I can find here on the Apple site (in the discussions and the manuals) is telling me that a) I'm an idiot for buying stuff from iTunes rather than Audible and b)... well, so far I haven't found a b.
Can ANYBODY help here? I'm desperate. This was supposed to be a christmas present. I'm to the point that I'm going to throw my computer across the room, I'm so angry.
Thanks in advance if you can give any assistance, kelmeister

Let me better explain what I have:
I bought "Mostly Harmless." It shows up in my Audiobooks folder as
    Mostly Harmless Part 1 of 3 2:26:44
    Mostly Harmless Part 2 of 3 2:35:47
    Mostly Harmless Part 3 of 3 1:21:28
I create a new playlist, "Mostly Harmless," and try to burn it. I put in my CD and get the following error message:
"Playlists which include purchased music and tracks longer than an audio CD cannot be burned. To burn an audio CD of [Mostly Harmless Part * of 3] please make a playlist with just that track and choose Burn Disc."
So I make three new playlists, one for each part. I choose the playlist for part one. I get the message that I'm going to need multiple discs, which I okay. It starts preparing the disc (I have it running at 2x to try to fix the disc ejection problem), but it spits it out repeatedly with the 4280 error, which I fix by opening and closing the door. When it finally burns, here's the tack listing:
    Track one 12:29
    Track two 38:23
    Track three 15:19
Track four 13:39 this track ends with the words "Okay, I'm going!"
The next disc has this track listing:
Track one 3:54 this track beings "--ocking gesture."
    Track two 10:02
    Track three 13:38
    Track four 9:58
    Track five 7:47
    Track six 18:42
    Track seven 15:20
The track info shown above doesn't reflect the chapter information shown in the play window. I've tried "getting CD track names" but I get the error message that these albums are not iTunes albums, even though I purchased them through iTunes.
I'm completely lost as to what I've burned and what's left. This is all just from part one. iTunes also died in the middle of burning the third disc, so although it shows info for Tracks one-four, only track one works.
I asked a friend about this and he seemed to think that I could burn these as data disks and he could use Audacity to break everything up into its correct parts and label everything with the correct tag names. I'm going to try this work-around.

  • Selective backup of itunes audiobooks and music

    Hi,
I have a TON of audiobooks... and it choking up my harddrive space.
I would like to selectively back up SOME of my library (not the whole thing) as I have some audio books I do not listen to all the time, or at least not now (but I would maybe relisten to them in like 6 months). I would like to put them on an external drive, and then repatriate them into my library when I rotate them back in to my playlist, and take others out of playing rotation.
So I guess what I am asking is, can I put them into a "playlist" and then back them up to an external drive, and delete them then on my HD to make room? Am I going to have issues when trying to get itunes to "authorize" playing of them when I bring them back in?

Select them in iTunes, drag them to a folder on the desktop then delete them from iTunes.
Name the folder something useful and put it where you want.
When you want to listen to them in iTunes, File -> Add to library and select the folder to copy them into iTunes.

  • Burn iTunes audiobooks onto CD?

I can't send to find an answer to this question: can I purchase an audiobook on iTunes, download it to my computer & then burn to CD. I want to be able to listen to the audiobook when I'm driving in the car (obviously without listening to my iPod while driving)
    Thanks
    JBro

Yes, I'm using a CD from the same Maxell spindle that I'd already burned about 15 CDs from a week ago. (In fact, I've tried another one from the same spindle and gotten the same burn speed message.)
