ITunes authorisation and laptop replacement?

Hello.. I had to send my Laptop for repair but was eventually given a replacement laptop in return...Luckily I had everything backed up just incase, but now I'm 1 down on my 5 authorisations, is there any way to reclaim this back? I've been tryin to look for contact details for apple with no luck..
So far ive got my PC, Work PC and Laptop authorised however only got 1 available to me.

Sorry, but there's no way for you to deauthorize systems you no longer have access to until you reach the five-system limit. Once you've reached five authorizations for that account, there will be a button in your iTunes Music Store account information (log into the iTMS in iTunes and you should see it) that can deauthorize all your system, at which point you can then reauthorize the ones you will be using.

  • HT203163 I recently had to replace my laptop and now when I try and sync my phone to my laptop I am asked to authorise the laptop, but after I enter my login and password, the search for itunes fails with a message that itunes is not currently available

I recently had to replace my laptop and now I can't sync iTunes and my phone - the message is that the laptop is not authorised and when I try and authorise it it says that the itunes store is currently unavailable - but it is available on my phone, and I have been trying for over 24hrs - it should be available by now.
I have checked my firewall settings and they are ok
How can I remove old PC's that I no longer use and make sure that this is the only computer that is authorised for my account - and how can I access the iTunes store so that I can authorise it?

You can reinstall Lion (Mac OS X) by pressing Command + R while booting your Mac. No need to re download Lion again.

Hi all.  I can’t tell you how to solve your iCloud 3.x issues.  Heck, I don’t think they’re even solvable.
But if you had a previous version of iCloud that was working correctly then I can definitely tell you how to solve the “iCloud Photo Stream is not syncing correctly to my Windows 7 PC” problem.  …without even a re-boot.
Log out of iCloud 3.0 and uninstall it.
Open My Computer and then open your C:\ drive.  Go to Tools/Folder Options and click on the View tab.  Select the “Show hidden…” radio button and click on OK.
    Open the Users folder.
    Open your user folder
    Open ProgramData (previously hidden folder)
Open the Apple folder – not the Apple Computer folder.
    Open the Installer Cache folder
In Details view sort on Name
Open the folder for the newest entry for iCloud Control Panel 2.x – probably 2.1.2.8 dated 4/25/2013
Right click on iCloud64.msi and select Install.
When finished, the synching between iCloud and your PC will be back to working perfectly as before the 3.0 fiasco.  The pictures will be synched to the same Photostream folder as before the “upgrade”.  Now all you need to do is wait until Apple/Microsoft get this thing fixed and working before you try the 3.x upgrade again.
I think the iCloud 3.0 software was written by the same folks who wrote healthcare.gov with the main difference being that healthcare.gov might eventually be made to work.
For those of you who hate to go backwards, think of it as attacking to the rear.  Which would you rather have, the frustration of no synching or everything working on an older version?
    Good luck…

Never mind - I didn't realize that I just needed to wait a while for the Cloud stuff to cycle through and load. Solved!

How exactly did this happen? Were you using separate iTunes libraries on separate user accounts on the laptop?

  • My iphone and laptop were stolen!! How do I recover my itunes stuff?

Sorry to bother you guys. A few days ago, my apt was robbed and among the things that were stolen was my iPhone and my laptop!!!
I have renter's insurance thank god and they said they will replace or reimburse me the full cost of anything stolen, so I'm getting a new iPhone and laptop!
My question is, how will I get my apps back onto my new phone. I have 200+ apps (most are free but many were not) and I don't even remember all of them.
Is it a simply a matter of downloading itunes to my desktop, logging in with my user name and password, then connecting my new iPhone to it, with the sim card from att with my phone number on it, and it will work?
Is there any way at all to automatically redownload all the apps I had or do I have to remember them all from memory and redownload them manually one by one?
Are the apps and itunes localized to one specific hardware serial number or something, or will they automatically work on my desktop/new laptop and phone as long as I'm using the same username and password.
    Thank you very much.

Sorry, but officially Apple does not allow redownloads of purchased items other than iPhone/iPod touch applications. It's your responsibility to make backup copies in case something goes wrong with your system, as I'm guessing happened in your case, and you lose all the information on your hard drive. The official statement of their policy can be found here, among other places. If your hard drive was erased and you don't have a backup of your purchased items, and don't have them on an iPod, you're probably out of luck and will need to repurchase your tracks.
If you have your tracks on an iPod or have them backed up, post back and someone here can help you get them restored. Otherwise you can try contacting iTunes Store Customer Service and explaining what happened. Reportedly in some cases Apple has allowed redownloading on a one-time basis. But don't count on it.

  • I have a work Mac, an air book, a home Mac; husband has desktop and laptop. That makes 5.  My work computer was replaced and I do not know what the company did with it.  I am not allowed to deauthorize all. Any way around the year limit?

I have a work Mac, an air book, a home Mac; husband has desktop and laptop. That makes 5.  My work computer was replaced and I do not know what the company did with it.  I am not allowed to deauthorize all because I did this within the last year when I got my new airbook. Any way around the year limit?  I don't know if I can find my old computer and I don't want to wait months to be able to play my ituens purchases on my new work computer.

If oyu already used up your "deauthorize all" option, you need to contact support so they can make an excemption:

  • New laptop, Already got 5 PC's authorised and none of them will let me deauthorise!

OK, My dad brought me a new laptop and I'd love it if I could get it on my account for iTunes. One minor issue though, none of the 5 computers I authorised will let me de-authorise them. It's really annoying because I would never be able to do anything with my iPod without going to my dad's. He lives 3 busses away from me so it's a pain to go there and back all the time, And otherwise i only visit him once a fort night. Please help!! Points for answers!!

You can deauthorize all your computers at once.  Login to your itunes account and choose view account from the store.  You should see a button that will allow you to deauthorize all.
You will have to re-authorize any other computers that you use.
This can only be done once every 12 months, so if you authorize 5 computers and run into the same issue, you'll have to wait until this time next year.

I took it to a ohone shop today and they're going to try and fix the phone without altering the memory, but apparently that's quite hard to do with IPhones
That will void any support from Apple. If you take the device to an Apple store you would be able to get an out of warranty replacement. A third party shop may make things worse and end up costing you more. Apple does not sell parts so all the third party shop will be able to use are parts from damaged or stolen devices. If the third party shop cannot fix the device you will have to pay full price for a replacement phone rather than the discounted price from Apple.

  • HT204406 I am having a very difficult time with accessing my music from the cloud.  I need to have itunes open on my laptop in order for it to work.  And as soon as I close out itunes on my laptop, it gives me a warning that all users will be logged out.

    Where are iTunes files located?
No, I do not mean just the music.  Copying just the media/music files or the media folder creates problems.

  • I have a 16GB iPhone 3GS. Tried synching my phone through iTunes (11.0.1 I think... on a 2009 Macbook Pro). Now when I connect to iTunes, it says it does not recognise the content on my phone. Is this because my phone (and laptop) are too old?

Also, when I tried to Restore the settings, an Error Message pops up that says " The iPhone software update server could not be contacted. The requested resource was not found.
I'm trying to free up space on my phone by removing [literally] thousands of old photos which were originally synched to the phone, because I had forgotten to uncheck the photos button when I synched it ages ago.
I have also tried synching it on my 24" iMac (running OSX Snow Leopard). But again, when I try restoring the phone through itunes, it says the file is corrupted. It sggests unplugging the device, and then plugging it in again. I have done this numerous times with no success.
I'm guessing it must be because my phone (and versions of iTunes, and OSX) are all too old.
    Please can anybody help.
    Cheers,

  • HT1391 How can I just sign in to ITUNES via my laptop and access music i bought on my IPHONE???????

pLEASE can some one help me???

If you have iTunes on the laptop set up to download new purchase automatically and it's logged into your iTunes Store account, anything you buy from the iPhone should appear on the laptop on its own. Otherwise, see:
