ITunes: Authorisation failed. Please connect to iTunes

For some reason, I can't purchase iTunes songs on my iPod Touch. I am logged in and it states my account name at the bottom. The song drops down into the downloads section but I then get the message:
"authorisation failed. please connect to iTunes"
I've connected, reconnected, ensured I am logged in to the store on my MacBook but it makes no difference to the iPod.
I can still purchase music direct from iTunes on my MacBook tho.
Any ideas?

Hey!
Yep!Same thing with me.I looked it up and sure enough, you have to have been logged in to your Acoount the last time you synced the Pod.
However, when I then logged back on a few days later,I received the message about details changed!
It looks as though my 'security code'on the back of the debit card is missing. What gives?
I'm sure Re-entering it will sort it out,but why was it altered by the iPT when I tried the Store via WiFi?
It must have been this as I've not changed it myself thru iTunes.
Cheers,
John

  • "Authorization failed.  Please connect to itunes."??? - Trying to add apps

Just got the new apple iphone 3g. I am trying to add apps to my iphone but everytime i try to add an app, i am getting the error message: "Authorization failed. Please connect to itunes." I connected to itunes on my macbook, but nothing happens. I type in my correct appleid and password but nothing either. Does anyone know how to fix?...so i can finally download some apps=) Thank you!

I would log into http://myinfo.apple.com and verify that your information is all correct.
The I would go into the iTunes Store and hit your email address in the upper left and view account info and verify your credit card info and billing address is all correct.
Then if you sync and add or remove a song it should sync the updated account info to your phone.

  • "authorization failed. Please connect to iTunes"

I tried to download a free app (BTW, its my first download, i haven't entered my id and password yet) and i got this error "Authorization failed. Please connect to iTunes." I found that alot of people have the same problem, but there wasn't any solutions online. Can anyone help? or at least give suggestions. Thanks!

Ok, i solved the problem, what happened was that my Apple account wasn't subscribed to the iTunes store. So when i tried to download a song using iTunes, it popped up an error, saying that i needed to make my Apple account a iTunes store account, or something like that. So if you have the same problem, try downloading something from iTunes, and it'll pop up a more descriptive message.

  • "Authorization failed. Please connect to Itunes." Please help!

Hey I'm Irish and this is my first post.
I recently reset my password. I followed the steps as said and it said the reset was succeseful. When I try to download an app on my IPhone 2G the message in the title comes up. Well I connected to Itunes and nothing happend, and my password works on Itunes.
I'm just totaly lost on this and would classify my computer skills as a novice so act like your trying explain something to a 5 year old.
Thanks to all who answered I really appreciate it!

You're not alone. I'm American & this is my 1st post & I have 3G & everytime I try to buy an iTune or load an App I get the "Enter Account Information" & input my Username & Password & get the "Authorization failed. Please connect to iTunes." which is useless since I get the same message when I'm in iTunes.

  • Remote app on ipod fails to connect to itunes 10

After upgrading to iTunes 10, my remote app on the ipod touch 4G fails to connect. I've reauthorized, which times out most times, but eventually when it works, it only continues to connect to iTunes until I close and restart the program. I've disabled all firewalls and still have the issue. iTunes 10/iPod Touch 4G/iOS 4.1/ancient remote.app do not play well together.
Anyone else unable to get the remote app working reliably with this combination?

    Hello all,
I would like to get more details from people who are still having trouble getting Remote 2.0.1 to connect. If you are unable to connect, please email me <[email protected]> with the following information:
    - A detailed description of the specific issue you are seeing.
    - What OS is on the host computer? (the one with iTunes on it)
    - What OS is on the affected iOS device(s)?
    - A description of your network topology. Please be as detailed as you can, including hardware and firmware versions, if possible. Also please explain how everything is connected.
    - Is the base station running default settings, or do you have any non-standard settings enabled? If so, please elaborate.
    - Do you have the built-in firewall enabled on the host computer?
    - Do you have any other firewall or Internet protection (anti-virus, etc) installed on the host computer?
    - Were you able to connect with versions of Remote prior to 2.0?
    - If you have multiple computers, can you get Remote to connect to any of them?
    - Does Home Sharing work between computers on your network?
    - Do you see any messages in Console (in Applications/Utilities) on the host computer that seem to coincide with the connection failures?
    Thanks,
    Roy

  • Yellow triangle "Please Connect to iTunes", can't do restore in iTunes

My iPhone stucked in yellow triangle and "Please Connect to iTunes" message, i can't do a proper restore from both "recovery mode" or DFU, it keeps showing 1604, 1603, 1600 errors and from DFU it shows error 6... As much as i understood after reading hundreds of forums, it might be a NAND fault... Any ideeas? Thank you...

Well the iPhone being stuck at the yellow triangle means that your iPhone is in recovery mode. The data is still on your iPhone, but it is not recoverable by measures within support of Apple. To recover that data you would need to either take it to someone who could assist you in retrieving that data, or look for 3rd party iPhone data recovery programs. You may have a backup and you don't even know to check to go Edit\Preferences\Device and it will say the following devices are backed up on this computer or something. If it says the name of your iPhone and a current date you should get most of your data back after the restore, this is not guaranteed as the backup file may be corrupt.
As far as the 1600 error codes those are normally related to USB issues. Error 6 across Windows and Mac is normally hardware. You are going to want to try restoring your iPhone on another USB port (without the dock) if it is still failing to you can always uninstall and reinstall iTunes, uninstall and reinstall the iPhone driver. If this still fails, you can attempt to restore in another admin. user. Your best bet however would be to restore the iPhone on another computer. Once this is done you can bring the iPhone back to the main computer to restore from the backup.
Hope this helps a bit! ✰

  • Solution to the "One Moment Please connecting to the iTunes store" Problem

Thought I would post this as a new topic because I see many people had the same problem as I do (did).
I kept getting the "One Momement Please connecting to the iTunes store" problem and could not figure out what was going on. I basically turned off everything I could think of "firewall, antivirus, antispyware, you name it and it still was not working.
Then I found in a thread the suggestion to delete my iTune preferences file. I did it and voila... all was fine.
So... here are the instructions. Do this first before you try anything else. It may save you A LOT OF TIME.
For VISTA the pref file is found at: C:\Users\+user name+\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\iTunes. Delete the file named "iTunesPrefs.xml", restart i-Tunes and it will reset all of you preferences. You will need to enable "show hidden folders" in Folder Options in the control panel as "AppData" will be hidden otherwise.
Hope this helps. I wished I'd seen it earlier.

Unfortunately deleting the iTunesPrefs.xml didn't work for me and others.
Try this. Click on Edit..Preferences...Parental Control and place a check mark in the box to the left of iTunes Store, also place a check mark in the box to the left of Allow access to iTunes U as well and then click OK.
Now go to the store. Finally, return to Parental Control and remove the check mark beside iTunes Store.
Hopefully you will now be able to access the iTunes Store without the dreaded One Moment please message.

  • After updating to Itunes 8.2.1 Itunes fails to connect to  all remote airp.

I have 2 airport express, used as remote speakers. Since the last update, both airport express fail to connect with Itunes. I have checked the firmwares, all have the latest firmwareupdate. My firewall allows connections for itunes. I have reinstalled the firmwares, but nothing helps. I still get the error -15000, -15006 and -3256.
Is there a solution? All worked fine before the newest Itunes Update.

My Airport Express doesn`t disappear anymore from Airport Utility after changing my WLAN Router from WPA2 to WPA.
Then I also followed these steps and everything`s fine again:
