ITunes Authorized account

I never used Itunes Store and never created an "audible account". However in Itunes there is a menu option "deauthorize audible account". When selecting that option it says that the account could not be deauthorized because my password or username is incorrect. How can I deauthorize this account as I am not planning to use Istore ever and I did not create this account myself? Any help will be appreciated.

welcome to the discussions !
this should help:
Audible is an online store that sells Audiobooks. The audiobooks purchased from Audibooks works the same way as the songs purchased from iTunes. You can only play the audiobooks on a limited number of computers. In iTunes, you can deauthorize your account to make your computer unable to play the audiobooks purchased from Audible (i.e. when you change computers).
If you don't have an Audible account, you can just ignore this function.

  • Backing up itunes/ authorizing account

My computer is about to break, and the computer place told me I need to back everything up. I have been trying to back up my itunes, but it doesnt work. It tells me to insert a new blank disk, I do, it reads it for 10 seconds, then tells me to insert another blank disk. I know the disks arent full b/c I just unwrapped them from the package. I also know there is nothing on them after I insert them, because I have tried them on another computer to see if anything was backed up. Therefore, is there any other way I can back up my music and playlists?
Also, since I have had to re-install the operating system so many times (I hate this computer), I have had to authorize the same computer many times. I beleive the last time I authorized it, it said this was my 4th/5th authorization. Is there anything I can do to avoid hitting the 5th authorization?
    Thanks!

You can backup to an external hard drive or flash drive, if your library is small enough.
Deauthorize this computer prior to taking it in for repairs. Once you do use the 5th authorization, you can do a "deauthorize all" once per year. It's always STRONGLY SUGGESTED that you deauthorize your system prior to doing any repairs, re-install of an OS, etc., so you can avoid one system using multiple authorizations.

  • How to get Apple ID and password that is different to iTunes store account which I have already activated and completed contracts, tax information and bank information I want to create a Paid Books Account use apple ID

I was given this address from the Apple customer support team.
I have an active existing iTunes store account and use the same Apple ID for signing into my iTunes Connect Account that distributes Apps.
I have created some books using the iBook author and in order to distribute content on the iBookstore I have been told electronically that I need a new Apple ID and password that is different to iTunes store account which I have already activated and completed contracts, tax information and bank information valid until 2013?
I want to create a Paid Books Account using the same email address, tax information and bank information. This has been most frustrating, as I cannot get passed the sign in section and there is no contact person I can speak to. I was of the understanding the iTunes connect account and the Developer programs which I paid good money for is all what I needed to be paid for selling iBooks on the iBookstore???
I only have one email address and wish to also use it for the Paid Books Account. I have books ready to be exported and published.
I am also having trouble locating and downloading iTunes Producer. I understand I need to have the Paid Books Account active to access the iTunes Producer program. Please help.

    Hi Lrwill,
If the apps that are on your son's iPad were purchased under his Dad's Apple ID, then signing your Apple ID onto the iPad will not help you with updating those apps.
Also, if the iPad was sync'd with his Dad's iTunes library, then hooking it up to your computer/iTunes library, will require you to reset the iPad, and everything that was loaded under the other Library and Apple ID will be wiped out.
Can you provide a little more info about what was set up under which Apple ID and what iTunes library the iPad was sync'd with?
    Cheers,

  • Question about multiple computers on one iTunes Store account

I have an iPad which I need to sync with several (actually 8) different Macs around the country. This is the nature of the work I'm doing at the moment. I plan to set all 8 Macs to the same iTunes Store account. I don't need to authorise them to play music or video, but I do want to be able to transfer content and apps I purchase so that I can backup the iPad whichever office I happen to visit. If I purchase an app in one office, presumably I can download it again for free on any of the other Macs should I need to. Understand that this is purely so that I can sync and backup in multiple locations without losing my apps or content.
Does anyone know if what I'm proposing will work? Is the "Authorized Computer" limit purely a limit on playing back content in iTunes? Or will I be prevented from syncing my apps and content on more than 5 computers?

What is not yet clear is quite how the new rules square up with the old rules that one account can be authorized on up to five computers and up to five accounts authorized on any one device.
Unless I'm much mistaken I think you can backup an iPad/iPhone on any computer running iTunes without authorizing it to any of the individual accounts that may have been used for purchased content on it first, although transferring purchased content from the device to the computer does require prior account authorization.
Since you can re-download apps at any time and, at least if you are in the US, now re-download previously purchased music, I think you should be fine. Thought I'd still suggest that it might be easier to take a portable version of your library with you than set up eight independent instances of iTunes.

  • Itunes store account changed

Some years  ago I had my itunes store account under a mindspring.com email account name.  When I purchased a new iMac, I also had changed emails so my itunes store account was established under that gmail account name.  All the songs I purchased under mindspring account continue to show as  kind "protected AAC audio file" and "Protected MPEG-4 video" for music videos.  I am able to play songs purchased with either account on my iMac, but these songs do not play as part of my "Home Sharing" file.  When I try to play on my husband's iMac we get "This device is not authorized...if you want...enter password for the mindspring account."
How can I get the songs into my gmail account library so I can share with the other devices?

Thank you for your reply.  Using your suggestion I was able to authorize the computer but I still needed to find a way to remove restrictions on the music (DRM?)
Anyway, after a lot of frustration, signed out of my iTunes account then back in with the mindspring account>itune store>itunes+  where I can pay per song to have it removed.
You probably could have told me this but I wasn't able to communicate what I really needed to do. It's difficult to address a question you haven't been asked!

  • Playing songs downloaded on an authorized account from different comp?

I have a Powerbook G4 with all my Itunes songs on it but recently purchased an IMac for home. Is there a way that I can purchase songs on my new computer (which has already been made an authorized account) or old computer and then play them on the other? And, also burn them off of the opposite computer that it was downloaded on? I hope that doesn't sound too confusing. I can share the files however, my laptop has to be turned on in order for the IMac to find the files.... I can't seem to find any helpful info on this anywhere! And it's too much of a pain in the arse to burn all my old itunes and transfer them over.

I am assuming both computers are authorised to the same iTunes account? If so, then there is no problem at all - simply copy the tracks you want to share (if not networking the 2 computers) onto a USB memory stick and shuttle between the two machines.
This also applies to burning, playing, copying to iPod, etc etc.
And you can purchase / download from your iTunes account on EITHER machine (not both - just use the memory stick to carry them across if needed).

  • HT1420 Is it possible to determine which machines are Itunes authorized?

Is it possible to determine which machines are Itunes authorized so I can only deauthorize one or is it not possible to see a list of your authorized machines?

Sorry but no. All you can see is a total account, not a list of individual systems that are authorized. If you want to deauthorize only a single computer, you need to do that from that computer.
    Regards.

  • "This Apple ID isn't Associated with an iTunes Connect Account" Help?

    Hi there,
I've been trying to publish a book I've created on iBooks Author to the iBooks Store but I'm having a bit of trouble with iTunes Connect.
I've set it up and signed the contracts and I can access the dashboard on a web browser with my Apple ID however, when I try to log into it from the Publish wizard on iBooks Author it keeps coming up with an alert message saying that "this Apple ID isn't associated with an iTunes Connect account", even though... well... it is.
I was wondering if it was a possibility I might have missed something along the way to connecting my Apple ID to the iTunes Connect? I don't know what to do.
I really want to get my books onto the iBooks Store as soon as I can - I've tried going through publishers like Smashwords and BookBaby but I've not had much luck with them.... I would prefer to go direct through retailers like Apple and Barnes and Noble.

You can sign in to your BlackBerry ID by visiting www.bbid.com . From there you should be able to associate a new device to your BB ID.
    Cheers.

  • Won't let me sign up for an iTunes connect account.

I signed up for an iTunes connect account and it doesn't let me as
    The following error(s) occurred:
The seller name you entered is already being used for an iTunes Connect account that distributes Book. Sign in to iTunes connect with that account to manage its content, or continue with this application and enter a different seller name.
Okay, so when signing in, it shows me the following error.
Apple ID does not have permission to access iTunes Connect.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

So I received a new support mail but unfortunately it does not help :-(
    Hello frederic,
Thank you for contacting Apple Developer Support regarding your iBookstore account.
The first step is for you to create an iBookstore account through iTunes Connect.  Please use the following link:
    <https://itunesconnect.apple.com/WebObjects/iTunesConnect.woa/wa/apply>
After your account is setup you can begin creating iBooks with a free application called iBooks Author. You can access this application through the Mac App Store. The system requirement for this will be to use a Mac.
If you have any questions about the processes after that, or with specific questions regarding the details of the iBookstore please use the following address:
    <[email protected]>
Thank you for taking the time to speak with me today, and if you have any questions for us please don’t hesitate to ask.

  • Several iTunes Store accounts, one computer

In my family we have one shared Mac connected to the stero as our "music machine". Can I give myself and the children their own iTunes accounts so that we all can buy music using our own accounts, but still have everyone's purchased music playable on the same shared computer? (And preferrably using the same shared user account on this computer?)
I guess that the question could be re-phrased as is it possible to authorize the same computer to more than one iTunes Store account without setting up individual user accounts on the computer?
    thx

Yes. You can have up to five iTunes Store accounts authorized for a single iTunes library.

  • Itunes Store account cancelled

My Itunes Store is TEMPORARALY DISABLED... They give me a site to go to Itunes Support & I have been unable to contact anyone or a link that can help

Never set up a different account.  Purchases made with an account can only be authorized to that account and cannot be transferred.  You need to go back to using that account and change the settings so it is authorized in your new country.  Accounts cannot be deleted, just abandoned, so the old account does indeed exist.
