Move the old file from the trash to /Music/iTunes/iTunes media/Mobile Applications/ folder.

  • Help! iTunes auto-downloading apps I don't use anymore

I don't want iTunes to re-download Broken Sword and Asphalt 5 for the iPad/iPhone.  My iTunes is sync'd with my Dropbox and it wastes like a GB of space between the two of them.  I have it unchecked in the store section of iTunes to automatically download apps.  But after syncing my iPhone they start to download EVERY TIME.  Drives me nuts.  I've deleted, unchecked the box that says to auto download, etc.  I don't have them on my devices either.  I will never ever play those games again even though I paid for them.  What can I do to have it quit doing that?

try sending an email to the iTS customer service using this form and ask the folks there to remove the item(s) from your download queue.

  • ITunes is downloading apps twice!

I buy an app from my iPhone 4, iTunes automatically downloads a copy on my Mac in my absence. In the store section of my iPhone, I've the "automatically download new purchases made on other devices" option turned off. Why is this happening?

At the iTunes menu bar on your Mac, go to iTunes > Preferences. Under the Store tab below Automatic Downloads, is Apps selected?
In the store section of my iPhone, I've the "automatically download new purchases made on other devices" option turned off.
This is for your iPhone only - not for iTunes on your computer, and not for any other iOS device accessing the same iTunes account.

  • When I connect my ipod touch to itunes, itunes automatically downloads all of my old apps onto my ipod. how do I stop it?

when i connect my ipod to itunes it starts a sync and then a backup. then at step 5 of 5 of the backup itunes starts to download all of my old apps to my ipod and then i have to cancel the sync and then on my ipod all of my old apps are grayed out and i cant even delete them. this happens every time i plug my ipod in. how do i turn this automatic download setting off?

Was any error message given? They usually are.
    Try resetting the iPod:
Reset iPod touch:  Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

  • Stop iTunes from downloading apps as I purchase them

    Hi everyone,
So this is a bit of a weird question, but at the moment (for at least another 2 or 3 weeks anyway), I am on a massively restricted bandwidth, which means I cannot afford to download anything more than a few web pages a week.
One of the problems I have however is that I make use of one of those apps who tell you about apps which have become free, and given that I am on a very low income, I cannot really afford to miss any of the apps which are free, especially given that when they stop being free, some of them cost a lot of money.
So my question is this, when I initially purchase the app from iTunes (v11.0.4), via the app store section, is there a way to stop the just-purchased app from downloading in iTunes. Turning off automatic downloads of apps in preferences within iTunes makes no difference, as I am guessing that it is a "feature" of the process of purchasing an app.
I'm only expecting the bandwidth restriction to last until the two different telecoms companies which I have used to install ADSL2 broadband with sort themselves out and get around to providing me with both telephone lines and ADSL2 broadband Internet connections. Until that point however, I am having to use my mobile phone's data to get online, and this costing me £20 for 4GB of data, which only lasts about 10 days at a time, unless I use iTunes and try to buy the apps mentioned in the now free app, app.
I am open to making any changes to Mac OS X.
For reference, I am running a mid-2009 MacBook Pro 13" with 8GB DDR3 RAM and a 320GB Hard Drive. It is running MacOS X Mountain Lion (10.8.4), and iTunes (11.0.4, this is where I am purchasing the apps!), the iPad v3 (Released as the "New" iPad, the first to be released with a retina screen, running iOS 6.1.3), and the iPhone 5 (64GB, running iOS 6.1.3) both are sometimes connected to iTunes via the wireless portion of my network (the MacBook Pro is using Ethernet, via a pair of ethernet over power adapters, to connect it to the network, with significently faster speeds than I'd receive with my Wireless "N" network.
If there's anything else you need to know about the environment or setup that I am running here, then let me know.
Absolutely any help you can give me will be very much appreciated. When I used to work, I worked as an IT consultant, designing and developing applications for both Mac and Windows machines, so I am fairly well versed with most any changes that can be made to a machine, I just don't seem to be able to work this one out.
I am also going to upgrade my MacBook Pro (13-inch) in the next 6 to 12 months, so anything I apply to my system now, I'd also like to replicate it to my new MacBook Pro when I've finished selecting it, and saving up for a new one. I'd expect it'll be running the new Mac OS being released in a few months, but I'll understand if no one has played with it enough to understand if the patch/fix will indeed work on iTunes on the new machine as well.
Thank you all for your time in advance,
    Many thanks,
    Christopher East MBCS

    Here's my recommendation:
First of all, you can always download previous purchases from iTunes. I believe you know this and know how to accomplish it, so I will not describe this further here.  If I'm wrong, just ask.
So now the issue is how to stop the immediate download of a purchase you've just completed.  I don't think you can specify "don't download this right now" when purchasing, but surely you can abort the download just after it starts.  One way to do that would be from the download window, simply tapping the "X" on the right side as soon as the download commences.
I think this will accomplish your objective.  Your purchase will be recorded, available for future download, and you will use next to zero bandwidth for the download right now.

  • Why are itunes automatic downloads misplaced?

I'm using iTunes v11.0.0.163 on a Windows 8 desktop system.  Often, I buy music on my Mac at work expecting it to download automatically to that system when I come home and start iTunes.  Download occurs, but often, the music ends up stored alphabetically by song name in the directory . . . iTunes/iTunes Music/downloads.  What happened to downloading albums and having them stored and displayed as albums indexed by artist name?  This stuff is not indexed in my iTunes library and is lost for all practical purposes.
    Humbug iTunes 11!
    A little help, please?
    Thanks,
    Joe

Doesn't Little Snitch only react when an app tries to reach out to the net, so I don't see how it's the problem.
It may be that iTunes just needed a log into to the server to confirm that I wanted to turn the feature off as I went ahead and logged in with the features turned off and it seems to sticking this time.

  • ITunes automatic download settings.....

I encounter a problem with my iMac's iTune (mid 2011 model), on iTunes Store Preference, under "Store", I couldn't turn (check) "on" the Automatic Downloads on the 3 boxes, Music, Books, Apps. No matter how many times I "check" the 3 boxes, it always stays "off". However, this does not happens with my Macbook Air (late 2010 model) using the same log in account.
I have updated both to OS X Mountain Lion recently, is it becasue it won't allow more than 1 computer to do this?? Please help!!  Thanks!!

Even in icloud I can't see any of my music files. or worse the music icon isn't even there.... The screenshot showes all the icons I have.
I am using leopard at the moment and the issue counts for both Iphone 4 and ipad 2
J: do you have the same in icloud

  • Automatic Downloads [Apps] wont stay on, on iPad

I'm trying to switch on Automatic Downloads [Settings->Store] for Apps on my iPad but after a couple of seconds it automatically flicks back on to 'off'
    I've searched and tried the following suggestions;
    - Signing out of store on device and sign back in
    - Restore device
    - Switching DNS to 8.8.8.8
    - Updating
    - Switching automatic downloads on in iTunes first with device connected
Nothing seems to work, any suggestions?

    Try resetting the iPad.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
if the device continus to shut down, you may very well have damaged the hardware. Take it to an Apple store for evaluation.

  • HT4539 Stop iTunes Automatic Downloads?

How do I stop iTunes from automatically downloading every time I open the app?  I go to Preferences and uncheck the automatic download box and the TV show still download.

Apple has changed the format requirement for Apple ID passwords. The new format requires at least one capital letter & number. So, Store>View My Account>Edit Apple ID>Change your password. That should put an end to this.

  • How do I have iTunes automatically download pre-orders?

    Hello,
I selected "Automatically download pre-orders when available" under iTunes > Preferences > Store Preferences and yet the automatic download only happens if I re-open iTunes. If, for example, I open iTunes on Monday (and keep it running) and on Tuesday a TV show I have subscribed to becomes available, there is no automatic download. To download, I need to either manually click on iTunes > Store > Check for available downloads, or close and re-open iTunes. (Ironically, this is not necessary for podcasts, as one has the option to select Podcast Settings > Check for new episodes > Every hour).
Is there a solution for this?
    Thanks,
    Fidelio

  • How do I stop iTunes automatically downloading tunes onto my iPad each time I play them from iCloud?

I am a new iPad user (IOS 7.0.2) but have used iTunes for many years on both an iPod and a PC. My iTunes library is in iCloud and I have also been using AirPlay to play music from my PC through my HiFi system with no problems. Now I have the iPad I can play music directly on it, and also use it to initiate playback through my audio system, as before. The problem is that whenever I use my iPad to do this iTunes (Match?) automatically downloads both purchased and pre-owned music onto the iPad, which I do not want to happen. Is there any way of stopping this happening? Also, like others I am finding the process of removing unwanted music from my iPad a real pain.

Following discussions with Apple Support I now understand that iTunes / Match is not a streaming service in the strict sense in the iOS environment, and that in that music is always downloaded to the device when songs are played from iCloud. Furthermore, I now know also how to delete unwanted music stuff downloaded to my iPad: Settings -> General -> Usage -> Music -> Edit -> 'Red blob' on LHS -> Swipe from RHS -> Delete. Problem solved.

  • Hello, Everytime I download something from iTunes, iTunes automatically downloads every previous movie I've ever rented.  How do I stop this?  Thank you!

    Hello,
Everytime I download something from iTunes, iTunes automatically starts first downloading all previous movies I've ever rented...again.  How do I clear these rental movies from my queue.  I've watched all of them and the time period has expired for all of them.
    Thank you!

    That one's definitely interesting.
I think it may be time to use the iTunes Expresslane for that.

  • ITunes automatic downloads message keeps appearing on launch?

    Hi!
Everytime I open iTunes, it keeps coming up with a message saying to type in my iTunes Store password for automatic downloads. When I type it in, the message then comes up again asking for my password. It comes up twice everytime I open iTunes.
I've had this since I enabled automatic downloads, but I want this because if I download a song on my iPhone, i'd like it to appear in iTunes too. It was like this when I had Lion, and now Mountain Lion.
Is there anything I can do to stop this message appearing please? (other than stopping automatic downloads!) ?
    Thanks!
