Itunes back up deleted half of my pictures
Is there a way to recover my pictures that were deleted?
I was having problems with my phone so I made an appointment at the genius bar. I backed it up and went in to the appointment. While waiting I was looking through my pictures and playing around on Instagram. I ended up getting a new phone because of the problems. I got home and restored the phone to my back up that was only a few hours old and found that I was missing about half of my pictures.
What do I do now without having to pay $70 for a program that may or not get me my pictures back?
That totally is bad.
Read these links below and see if you are up to trying some 3rd-party software to sort out your album art. The topic is discussing getting album art onto a photo iPod, but basically, it came down to getting the artwork into iTunes first.

(G4 Powerbook superdrive 10.3.9) I have just (inadvertently) deleted my back up music that I created on my smart playlist this has all the last years worth of music on it. Although I still have all my music in the library section I would still like the back up playlist back. (what I did) I thought I was just deleting a song within the smartlist but when I pushed the clear option the whole folder went. I now realise thats what happens (going through the heip menu) Is their any way I can get this smart playlist back?

Can i get the old version of iTunes back without deleting everytying?
This new iTunes is the pits. I want the old version back. I deleted iTunes 11 and tried to reinstall an earlier version. It gives me an error that my library cannot be recognized by an older version. So...will i have to delete everything, libraries, etc. in order to get rid of this frankenstein monster and go back to a good version? And if I do, I'd like to thank you in advance for the hours of work you will be creating for me.
Who ever said dont be rude I guess must be an apple fanboy. Tell me why I have to buy iphone 5 to finally get 4g a technology that has been out for 2 to 3 years. I am sick of apple and their overpriced items I dont know if you dont see all it is is software. I really like the apps for games but my Galaxy 2 screen is almost bigger than my wifes iphone. I am sorry they need to catch up with the times and leave itunes alone. The new version is harder to use and harder to figure out what they did. He has the right to be rude to apple, they are a company that doesnt care about their buyers because they know that people will line up to buy their ipad mini when you can buy a full size Ipad for 70 dollars more. My wife just bought the ipad 4 and they didnt make that many changes to justify it just like they did with the 4s yet fanboys went beserk. I think we ought to show them that unless they make the next iphone with a larger screen and the next ipad a little cheaper then we wont buy it.
I have all the components in my computer to match an IMAC yet need to buy their 2200$ computer to have their software legally. Its all about money of course I get that but make something for a better price considering it is software leading not the components. An alienware laptop runs less money than a stupid macbook that is wrong. I hope apple reads this but they will have their fans that will line the streets for bad products. They are behind in technology compared to android and pc. The ipad mini should have been priced like everyone else at 199 not 329 but again fanboys lined the streets for it. -
I just syned my new iphone through itunes and it deleted all of my new pictures. is there anyway to get them back?
Do you sync your iPhone with iTunes every once in a while? If yes, there are chances that iTunes has taken last backup of your photos, contacts, etc. that you want back.
Connect your iPhone with your PC. launch iTunes, right click on your device and click on "Restore from Backup". Choose the latest backup to proceed.
If you configured iCloud for backup before you restored your iPhone. Go to Settings -> iCloud - > and login using your Apple ID. Once you've logged in, all the photos, contacts, mail, messages should be back on your iPhone. This may take a while (depending on your network).
Alternatively, if you are only now setting up your iPhone, choose 'Restore from iCloud Backup' in the setup screen. Login with Apple ID and the iPhone will be restored from the latest iCloud backup. -
My itunes files were deleted. I was able to use an old back up file to restore some but new downloaded purchases from iTunes for the past 5 months weren't in the back up. How do I get those back since I've paid for them one before? Can you redownload? If so, how?? Please help as I'm missing over 500 previously paid for and downloaded iTunes song purchases.
This was EXACTLY what I needed about the purchases I made from my device. However, is there a way to re-download other ones you've made from a computer? Because I realized some of them were not just purchased from my device.

As you can see, the stuff circled in red doesn't give me an option to download from Cloud Beta because it already says "downloaded".

everytime i link my iphone up to my laptop the message 'welcome to your new iphone' with the option restore from back up or new iphone. i once did restore from back up and it deleted all my recent pictures, music etc. how can i get pass this stage?

All sorted! dont suppose you know how to fix another problem I have??? for weeks now, since updating to ios5 I think, for some reason every time I have tried to log onto app store it says CANNOT CONNECT TO ITUNES STORE. It's nothing to do with my computer, and I've been to the Geniius bar but they couldnt help and nothing I seem to do lets me update my Apps and even worse, I cant even buy any more. Any suggestions?

I deleted half of my songs from windows media player on my computer and can't play them in my I tunes library because the files can't be found. Is there a way I can get them back?
Restore them from the recycle bin if they are there, or your backup, or find an unerase or file recovery tool, or see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device if you have one.

when updating my ipad air to iOs 8 my 2 albums on iphoto were deleted since iphoto is no longer supported. Anyone similar experiences? Any chance to get back my albums (not only the pictures, but the actual album with text etc)?

Migrating from iPhoto for iOS to Photos on iOS 8 - Apple Support
The following data will migrate from iPhoto to Photos.
Any photos in your iPhoto library that aren't already in Photos are added.
Image adjustments you made in iPhoto are migrated to Photos.
If you applied image adjustments to photos synced to your iOS device from iTunes, a duplicate of each photo will be created in Photos with adjustments applied.
Photos hidden in iPhoto do not appear in the Years, Moments, or Collections views in Photos, but are placed in an album titled Hidden.
Photo Books, Web Journals, and Slideshows are converted into regular albums in Photos. Text and layouts are not preserved.
Only projects created on the device performing the migration will be converted. Projects you synced from other devices to iPhoto via iCloud must be converted from the devices on which they were created.
Photos marked as Favorites in iPhoto are marked as Favorites in Photos.
Tags and captions from iPhoto are not displayed in Photos, but you can use them as search terms and they will show up respectively as Keywords and Titles in Photos search results.
Flags from iPhoto are converted to the keyword Flagged. -
Itunes deleted half my music library!
Ok this one is a strange one... Last week, itunes just did erased half of my music library! What's strange is that something happen that erased every album that contained more than one discs! Almost all my library is made of greatest hits and compilation of any kind... So let say that I had the Phil Collins Platinum Collection which contain 3 discs... Disc 2 and 3 have been erased! And that for every artists that had more than one discs in the collection. Artist with singles disc haven't been touch! I Know it seems impossible but it really happen. I use a NAS disk to store my library which is set as a RAID 1 (mirroring).. I was hopping it was a disk problem (so I would be able to retrieve the data from the other disk... no both disk where operating A1... it seems like it was some kind of command to delete those album! I've just finish re-importing every album one disc at a time! Hope It won't happen again!
I did first check to see if it was just a corruption of the Itunes library. But the files were no longer on my HD. Free Space on disk jumped from 28gb free to 36gb free.
First checked the disk using disk utility then used Disk Warrior just to make sure disk utility was not missing anything. Both came back as reporting no errors.
So I am still at a lose on how this happened and what I can do to prevent it form happing again.
Still there was no logic to the files that were deleted, it was not 1 for 1 with the songs and videos on the Ipod. Nor was it just songs or movies that were not purchased through Itunes. Some of the albums I had bought from Itunes were erased, others were left.
About 60-70% of the songs lost were on the Ipod, and All the Movies, but not the Tv Series, all of the sample books that I had downloaded to Ibook were gone from the Ipod, but not the Ibook that came with Ibooks. But no Apps were lost from the Ipod or from Itunes.
The only good thing is that I back up the Itunes library monthly, and use time machine every other day. So nothing was really lost just shocked me.. To have Itunes get rid of most of my music and videos.
Looked through my log files and nothing showed up.
and if it might help, Im using a MBP 17 2.6 4gbr 10.5.8 that i purchased in feb of 08 using Itunes 9.2

Photos/videos in the Camera Roll are included with the iPhone's backup, which is updated by iTunes as the first step during the iTunes sync process. If the photos were not imported from the Camera Roll by your computer as designed and intended and as with any other digital camera, you synced your iPhone with iTunes since the photos were captured by your iPhone and you haven't synced your iPhone with iTunes since the photos were deleted, you can try restoring your iPhone with iTunes from your iPhone's backup. Do not sync your iPhone with iTunes before doing so and decline the prompt to update your iPhone's backup after selecting Restore.

It seems TOO MANY people are having this same problem. Honestly, Apple is just dirt now...more problems than now. I need help asap.
I went onto iTunes and clicked on my phone's name in the upper right corner. I have my music set on 'selected playlists, artists, albums, and genres' which this usually means, I just click below to which playlists I want on my phone. However, none of my playlists were updating (none of the new songs I added to my playlists already on my phone were transfering) so I went on my phone and simply deleted the playlists there, then was planning on re-syncing them on my phone from iTunes on my computer. BUT when I went onto my iTunes, somehow ALL my playlists were deleted EVEN THOUGH I ONLY DELETED THEM OFF MY PHONE NOT MY COMPUTER! THESE PLAYLISTS ARE EXTREMELY IMPORTANT AND I NEED THEM BACK NOW! I tried using the backup, which was done before the playlists were deleted, but of course Apple, it did not work. Great job, there. I just want these playlists back, both on my computer and on my phone. I have plenty of space free to hold these playlists/songs.
Apples exceptional failure of everything iPhone and iTunes related is too maturfully pathetic I don't know if I have the patience or time to deal with this company anymore, even though I have been along for the ride since the first iPhone came out. Congratulations, Steve Jobs would be so happy with how far Apple's sunk.

Video's not synching
Playlists not updating
Playlists deleting from iTunes when simply deleted from iPhone
New songs not transfering to iPhone
My battery jumping from 30% to 5% in less than a minute
My phone completely shutting down at 30% and not turning back on, saying it needs to be charged
When above happens, and I plug it in, after it turns back on, it pumps straight to 30% battery again
Lock screen not always locking, even though it is set to 1 minuteI'm not ranting at you, I'm ranting at Apple.

When i tried to sync my new iPhone to Itunes, I accidentally clicked on sync with my ipod, instead of creating a new one. So now my iphone is the replica of my ipod, deleting my contacts and pictures etc. Is there a way to get it restored?
Only if a backup of the iPhone with all that data on it exists. If one does, restore the iPhone using that backup.

My back up from last Thursday on my iphone 4s is now showing up in my itunes. I deleted something today and I need it back desperately. I need to restore my phone back to last Thursday when the information was on my phone. How do I find the backup on my pc and once I find it how do I move it to itunes for me to restore my phone to that day?
I wished I had known this before I said yes to using icloud. I guess those things will be lost and gone forever, since I do not want to lose my present settings and data. Also do not want to go through the hassle of backing up present, then resetting phone, then restoring oldest back up, then backing up oldest backup to pc, so I can safely backup selected items to my pc; then reset my phone again to restore latest back up. It would take way too much time and no guarantee.
I backed up my phone to my pc, but have not checked it yet, so don't know if it worked.
If I decide to quit using icloud (which will probably happen since backing up to external hard drive allows me to open backups) what will happen to my present data and settings? Will they just remain as they were without icloud, as they were before icloud? I'm scared to just delete it; not knowing what will happen. Also why is icloud now my outgoing mail server, when my web email was before I installed icloud and how do I restore my web email as my outgoing mail server. I am using yahoo/at&t for all my mail.
What will happen to my contacts, notes, messages, voice memos, calendar info, alerts, etc., on my phone if I delete icloud?
