Itunes bought a song without my help?

i was buying a song from a completely different artist and when i looked at my downloads it showed a song downloading that i bought with the entire album about two months ago... i wasn't even on the artists page. i stopped it from downloading and it is just sitting in my downloads. im not sure if it cost me anything but i think it did. any help?

You may not have been charged. I had something similar happen a few weeks back. I purchased the Complete Led Zeppelin. After the songs finished downloading, about 10 of the songs showed up in my download que again. I downloaded them and there were duplicates. I had to delete them and I wasn't charged for them either.

  • ITUNES ERASED MY SONGS. PLEASE HELP

I had gotten some songs from Limewire and I wanted to put them in my dad's ipod mini because I lost my ipod at an airport.
When i opened itunes everything was erased-my (and my dad's) songs, music videos and playlists.Everything.
I plugged in the ipod and 3 options came up
    Cancel
    Erase and Sync
    and Transfer purchaces
I pressed Tranfer purchases and my dad's ipod started to put the music that i bought into my itunes libraby.
I'm okay with that because most of my music was bought but my dad's music is still lost.
How can i find my dad's mucic?

  • ITunes bought app synch to iphone - help please

I have just purchased an app through iTunes due to the size (322mg), when I have gone to sync from app page all greyed out and warns me that synching this will override all my other apps. It does say that you can drag and drop to avaoid this is 3.1 or above but no option to ... any help before I press the button and lose the lot?

3rd party app settings and data created and stored by a 3rd party app is not stored with the app. 3rd party app settings and data created and stored by a 3rd party app is included with your iPod Touch backup and with your iPhone's backup which is updated by iTunes as the first step during the iTunes sync process.
You can try restoring your iPhone with iTunes from the backup for your iPod Touch. This would be the only way if this is possible. It should be but not something I have done.

  • ITunes playlist of songs without Genius information

Is it possible to generate a smart playlist that consists of tracks which do not contain Genius information???
By not containing genius information I mean that if you click the genius button it states that genius is unavailable for this song.
This would then allow me to correct the track information on these tracks to match the iTunes store and update my Genius data.

Right. It's not known, but I imagine the same.
Any thoughts on why it might not work for songs that have been properly downloaded from the iTunes store?
I have a collection of over 15k songs in my library. Most of it is from ripped CDs (ripped using iTunes in Apple Lossless format), a fair percent is from the iTunes Store, and a small percent is from Amazon.
The great majority of my ripped CDs were able to match using iTunes Match. So it seems like there should be plenty of inventory in my library to create a genius playlist from a song that I've just downloaded from the iTunes Store.
Being the source, Apple/iTunes should already know everything it needs to know about that song.

  • How to play music in itunes from external drive without copying files

Everytime I go to play a song in itunes, it imports it first. I am a DJ and don't want 200 gigs of music on my HD. There has to be some way to just play all of my songs off of my external HD w/o itunes importing the songs.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you very much for your help. This is my first Mac and I am getting use to how it operates. SInce I have gotten It, I usually just click on the song from my external then itunes imports it then plays it.
I use Serato when DJing which allows me to just access my external and play from there, which is what you suggested doing by creating a itunes library on my external.
I will create a library on my external and do like you suggested. That seems like it would solve all of my problems. I am using the instructions from here: http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/ to do it. Seems like it should be pretty straight forward.
Again, thank you for your help.

  • So, I bought some songs on Itunes on my Iphone. One song fully downloaded and now shows up in my music, but the other one will consistently appear to finish downloading, then not show up in my Music at all. I've tried several times. Help!!!

I've been trying to download this song for two days. ITunes says that it downloaded, and that I purchased it, but it will NOT appear in my music. The weird thing is that I bought two songs simultaneously and the first one successfully appeared and I can listen to it. Totally fine. However, the second one will finish downloading, then disappear. I bought the same song two more times off of different albums just to make sure there wasn't a problem there. Nope. Everything with that song title will not show up. Rhapsody in Blue, by the way. I also bought it on my iPod touch just to make sure there, and it successfully downloaded and I can listen to it on my iPod without a problem. Again, it just won't go on my IPHONE. It's frustrating. Any advice or help?!

  • I have the newest version of itunes 11.1.3.8. I have one song that i want moved from itunes to my iphone WITHOUT erasing my iphone playlists which happens each time i sync. please help

I have the newest version of itunes 11.1.3.8.  I have uploaded a CD into my itunes library. I would like to add one song only to my iphone. I have created playlists on my iphone and each time I sync all of my iphone playlists get erased and I have to recreated them. after the sixth time, I am very hesitant to do any kind of syncing. Is there a way to just move one song without syncing? I have read some posts that talk about this but have not been able to do it. For example, the "summary tab" does not exist on my version of itunes. I tried drag and drop on itunes as explained in their help section but that did not move the song to my iphone. Please help

You are probably running OS 10.4 or 10.5 on a PPC Mac.  No version of  iTunes higher than 10.6.3 is available for these older Macs.  I have the same problem, and while I can still use the PPC to sync my iPod, it can't be used to sync an iPhone 4 or higher.  The only solution, as I discovered after upgrading to the iPhone 4, is to buy a newer Mac.  I was able to get a 2006 MacBook running Lion for under $300, and that has been a lifesaver.

I bought a song off of the itunes store on my iphone but it wont play.  I even tried to repurchase it but it says that I already purchased it.  I have restarted my phone and turned it off but it still won't download or play.  HELP!

Depending upon what country that you are in (music can't be re-downloaded in all countries) then try deleting that track from your phone and re-download it via the Purchased tab in the iTunes store app on it, or the Purchased link under Quicklinks on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page on your computer's iTunes.
If you aren't in a country where you can re-download music or if it re-downloads in the same state then try the 'report a problem' link from your purchase history : log into your account on your computer's iTunes via the Store > View Account menu option and you should then see a Purchase History section with a 'see all' link to the right of it ; click on that and you should see a list of your purchases ; find that song and use the 'Report a Problem' link and fill in details about the problem (iTunes support should reply within, I think, about 24 hours).
If the 'report a problem' link doesn't work (it's been taking some people to this site on a browser instead of showing a form in iTunes) then you can try contacting iTunes support via this page : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/- click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page.

I understand the confusion. Those tracks are royalty free to the owner of the tracks, yes. The terms of use of the iTunes Store still state, though, that all purchases are for your own personal use and cannot be used commercially:
    USAGE RULES
    1. You shall be authorized to use iTunes Products only for personal, noncommercial use.
They're probably fine for presentations in a class or to a group at your company, but you probably could not post the presentation or a video using these tracks on a public site. I'm no lawyer, though, to legally define what would and would not constitute "noncommercial". It's probably best to just buy your tracks directly from one of these sites of royalty-free music. Then the use license should be completely clear.
    Regards.

Bought an iPod Classic.  First iPod, had a Zen for years, I want to transfer my music library, approximately 15,000 songs without creating an iTunes Media library.  All of the music is currently in WMA format.  As you can imagine, 15,000 songs takes up a lot of space and I do not wnat it duplicated on my harddrive in an iTunes Media Library.  What are my options?-Shawn

Change your mind, or change your device.
You can't put wma files on an iPod classic. You can't put files onto an iPod without adding them to a media library first.

  • How come most of my songs i purchased on itunes don't work? It says there is no file found for it when I bought the songs. I need help!

I bought many songs from Itunes and when I went to plug in and download my songs onto my laptop it only downloaded 20 songs that I purchased and the rest were counted as "There was no file to support this song" And I don't know how that even happened and now on my ipad none of the cover art for the purchased songs show up and none of the songs I bought on itunes are shown and play when I go to the purchase part of the music itunes store and its really ******* me off making me feel like I just wasted money on buying songs I can never listen too! I need to know how I can fix it ASAP.

You can redownload the songs as many times as you want, the "one time regrant" no longer exists. Make sure you are using the same apple id on both your dead itouch and your iphone 4. On your iphone 4 go to the itunes app > Purchased (may be under more based on your settings) at the top click not on this iphone, click all songs then click the little cloud next to each song you want to redownload. It will prompt you for your id and password and the begin your download
