ITunes broken? Burn playlist stopped working

Was burning a series of CDs from my iTunes library. Working great, then suddenly stopped working altogether.
Inserting a blank CD will open it in the finder as a burnable disk. Clicking "burn playlist to disk" no longer causes anything to happen.
Given there are no symptoms, error messages, anything... not sure where to begin with this.

  • ITunes Helper Module has stopped working

I just downloaded the new version of iTunes and now iTunes and Quicktime wont open at all. When I click on iTunes or when I first turn the computer on, a window pops up that says the iTunes Helper module has stopped working. Then another window pops up right after that says "iTunes has stopped working". It checks for a solution to the problem and then says "A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available." When I try to open QuickTime, it says "Runtime error! Program:C:\Program Files\QuickTime\QuickTime Player.exe This application has requested the RunTime to terminate it in an unusual way." I have Vista which seems to cause problems with the firewall and iTuens, so I turned off the firewall from my security software, switched on the windows firewall, and made sure the settings were right. I even tried doing a System restore to the previous version (same problems) and then tried reinstalling the new version (Still same problems). Anyone have any suggestions?!?!

    hey stess,
I have the exact problem you have. I tried deleting (went into program files and deleted the folders ) from my system and reinstalling it. It worked until i rebooted my system, I am still on xp. The restore doesnt help either. It cant be my ipod ( its quiet old!) as it isnt even connected to my system at start up. I think maybe a bug with the new version that will eventually have more and more users affected when they update. I f i find a solution I will post asap... good luck

  • 2 songs that worked with Genius and have playlists Stop working with Genius- Reset Genius?

Is there a way to reset Genius to work with Songs it has stopped working with. Why would genius stop woking with songs?  Would it be because I fixed the media library with Tune Up and the song Genere was changed?
I Changed it back and even deleted the 'Genius pref' from the iTunes folder. I hesitate  to turn Genius off/on as I lose all the playlists I have gathered, but if I have to to restore function I would. If I was sure it would help?
One of the songs is 'Lovesick' by Lindstrom & Christabel. A popular purchased tune, Another, ''Four ton Mantis' by Amon Tobin is not purchased. Both are 'Electronica' Genre Both worked for many months with Genius with no issue. I even tried re-purchasing the song for $1.00 from iTunes... No dice. Genius says of both songs that not enough similar music appears to be available to refresh my Genius Playlists that Genius already made.
Anyone have a clue how to fix this???

  • ITunes 11 - Burning Playlist to Audio CD fails when including CD Text

I just started running into an issue where I am unable to burn an Audio CD and include CD text.
I tried everything including different burn speeds and cannot get it to work.  I get the error:
The attempt to burn a disc failed.  An unknown error occured (4000).
Luckily nothing is ever written to the CD, so I am not making coasters.
For kicks to make sure iTunes CD burning was working for anything, I selected Data CD instead of an Audio CD, and the Data CD succesfully burned.
Then I attempted to burn the Playlist and unchecked "Include CD Text", and the CD was successfully created.
It has been a while and that means it was with a prior version of iTunes, but I have successfully burned playlists with CD Text.  How come this is not working in iTunes 11.0.0.163?
Anyone have any recommendations how to fix the CD Text Issue?
    John

I have the same problem...I used to purchase music and burn it to a CD for my car and when I updated my itunes, (which I wish I hadn't and doing a system restore failed) I can not figure out how to burn any music off my itunes...I need to burn a CDS for church this Sunday so please help...

  • ITunes 7.0 playlist stops

I recently upgraded to iTunes 7.0 on my computer and now my playlists and music library stop playing after each song. In earlier versions of iTunes, the songs automatically changed for continuous music. Now, if I press the skip forward or skip backward buttons, the song selected just starts playing again and then stops when it reaches the end. I have tried changing the shuffling and repeating songs options, but nothing has worked so far. Any idea what is wrong?

Ditto. Just upgraded. Old Playlists work fine, but new playlists stop after each song. Both old and new playlists are a mix of songs purchased from iTunes and others uploaded from CDs I purchased.
Unfortunately I didn't keep a copy of the previous version of iTunes to roll back to. If anyone has a safe link to an older version that might solve this problem in the near term.

  • ITunes 10.6 has stopped working on windows 7

I tried reinstalling it, and I also tried to uninstall it and install it in a newly created admin user account. But I am still having the same problem when starting iTunes.
    Please help. Thanks.

    Hello,
I've been unable to use my iTunes ever since upgrading to v10.6 Today with the new roll out of v10.6.1 I ran the fresh update hoping the issue would be resolved... After the update, Same CRASH issue at opening...  I was able to FIX this on my own after messing around with an extremely confusing support article. http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1717
Try doing this troubleshoot and see if it helps you, it worked great for me! After I moved the first folder location listed below, my iTunes was fixed! I have since deleted that folder I had moved earlier and iTunes it's still working like a charm. I've also re-wrote the instructions for you more clearly then apple did.
    Remove iTunes Preference files
Some of the files that iTunes uses to store it's settings and preferences may be unusable and cause issues.  iTunes has two folders where it's preferences are saved. Move one of the folders to another folder location ie. (my documents, etc.) and try opening and running itunes to test.  This is to see if the issue persists after removing these files. If the issue does not persist, simply delete the moved folder and enjoy using iTunes! However, If the issue still persists, move the folder back to where it was originally and try the same process again, this time moving the second folder. The location for the two preference folders are:
    C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Apple Computer\iTunes
    C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\iTunes
    Really hope this helps you!

So, what is the fix for that Itunes problem? Thanks for help. vpanov

Try copying the QTMovieWin.dll in the  c:\program files (x86)\common files\apple\apple application support folder to the c:\program files (x86)\iTunes folder. I had same problem and it's fixed this bug.

  • ITunes Wifi sync has stopped working

iTunes has stopped syncing over wifi with my iPhone 5S and iPad Mini. It's always been a bit flaky, but has recently stopped working completely. iTunes will not see the devices unless I either reboot them, or plug them in with the Thunderbolt cable, deselect and select "sync with this device over wifi" and apply. If I try to use wifi sync, iTunes gives me a "looking for device" message and then drops the connection.
My set up is a Mac Pro running 10.10, hooked up to an Airport Express via Cat 6. Both iOS devices are on iOS 8.
I have tried changing the IPV6 settings on both my machine and my Airport Express, resetting the network settings on both iOS devices, and flushing my machine's DNS cache.
I see the following messages repeated in my system log:

  • Itunes 11.1.4 stops working on Windows 7 (64b)

iTunes opens OK & operates normally  for a period of time (usally around an hour or so) & then an error message comes up that itunes has stopped working & must be closed down. My system is Windows 7 (64 bit) & this close down happens every time. Even if I am not using itunes at the time it still just stops working after sometime. It is most annoying and has only started happenuing since upgrade to itunes 11.1.4. What is going on?

Thanks for your help. Started itunes in safe mode and it still closed down after approx an hour. There are no add-ons or plug-ins installed. I had previously checked the safe mode and also uninstalled all apple software in the order that one of the help pages indicated. Then redownloaded and installed itunes - made no difference.
After opening itunes it works fine with no problems - what baffles me is that it then stops working even if the software is not active at the time.

    Anyone got any ideas?

How many cds have you ripped since replacing the drive? I think you have just been lucky.
I mostly use an external cd drive. I still have the problem with both internal and external drives.
Remember this problem is random. I have tried 3 cds in a row and had no trouble, then on the 4th the issue is back.
I don't believe this issue will completely go away until Apple prvides a fix with an iTunes update.

  • ITUNES and FINAL CUT stop working same day

In the SAME day- my Itunes decided to stop opening (it does not even ACKNOWLEDGE that I'm trying to open it...), AND when I try to open my Final Cut Pro HD the computer simply says: Final Cut Pro has unexpectedly quit.
Both programs stopped working the same day and I am at a loss:

  • ITunes 11.0.1 stops working wile playing movies or music...

In the last few days iTunes has stopped working as it once did ( I'm not referring to v10 ). Playing music, watching a podcast or a movie... After a few seconds / minutes / hours... iTunes seems to be paused, sometimes it starts playing again other times the death circle starts spinning and it's finished. When I force quit iTunes there is no message saying iTunes is not responding, but it's not responding regardless. Once iTunes is reopened it will play where it left off for several seconds / minutes / hours...
    I tunes is v 11.0.1
    OS 10.8.2
I tunes is playing from my iMac's internal HD. I've tried a full shutdown of the computer. Checking for updates and looking over the communities for help. I have to ask. Please help.
    Thank you,

    Start iTunes is Safe Mode.
Refer to this article: iTunes: Troubleshooting issues with third-party iTunes plug-ins which gives you steps for starting iTunes in Safe Mode. Note the article has instructions for both OS X (Mac) and the different versions of Windows.
I too had the problem with Podcasts, so was delighted to see an update which addressed it. However, like all of you, after the update to 11.3, clicking on Refresh (Podcasts) caused iTunes to stop working. I then started iTunes in Safe Mode but saw no message about entering Safe Mode (as mentioned in the article). Despite this, Refresh Podcasts then worked. That was yesterday. This morning, I have started my iTunes in normal mode and had no issues.
I suggest you read the article, as there are important points about showing hidden files and what to do if the problem persists. In my case, the problem did not persist. Note also, that the article mentions third-party plug-ins as the cause of the problem. As far as I am aware, I did not have any third-party plug-ins, so the title of the article is somewhat misleading.

  • ITunes 11.3.1 stops working when opened in 'Podcasts' view

After the latest update installed in last few days on Windows 7, iTunes often crashes on startup, at about the time it is accessing iTunes store (fine before the update). It does not happen if iTunes is opened in 'Music' view, but changing then to the 'Podcasts' view and clicking the podcast 'refresh' button causes crash again. It is worse on some user accounts than others.
    Have tried:
    - Complete reinstallation of iTunes
    - Deleting preferences files in the Local and Roaming directories.
    - Copying a QT dll to the iTunes program files directory (as mentioned on another thread)
    - The other suggestions in this link iTunes for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8: Fix unexpected quits or launch issues
    Any ideas?

  • Itunes 11.1 has stopped working error message

I have uninstalled; reinstalled; set computer to an earlier version; copied all .dll files to itunes folder and nothing helps. I have contacted apple, but have not gotten a solution that resolves the issue. Any other suggestions out there?

I noticed that when I opened itunes, it begins gathering information about my library and sends information to itunes match, but when I stopped that processed (pressing the small "x"), it does not stop working or freeze.  I don't know why, but it has worked for me.
