Itunes Burn Error Occurred.

Every time I try to burn a CD, it never works. It would start burning the first song, and then suddenly, Itunes would cancel the disk burn and then a little thing would pop up:
"The attempt to burn a disk failed. An unknown error occurred (4000)."
Anyone know why this is happening?

Correction: I cannot burn CDs or DVDs of playlists in iTunes 6.0.1. I have no problem burning CDs in other applications and could burn CDs prior to updating to iTunes 6.

I had this, and after a large number of fruitless attempts, I had to reload Windows, which solved it. This was of course a real pain, but I had to do it since updating iTunes was necessary in order to get the new iOS version. But before doing such a drastic thing, you could try to restore Windows to a previous point in time by picking a restore point. This of course presumes that you really have some issues with your Windows (which I had) and that you can make a decent guess on when the system was ok (which I couldn't), i.e that you can decide a good date to restore to.

Have a first gen iPad with 4.3 IOS. Can't download version 5.1 because iTunes 11.1 need to be downloaded. Cannot download version of iTunes. " errors occured while installing updates. if the problem persists choose tools>download only and try installing manually". This is as far as I can get. Can't find tools to manually download. When I try to reset to factory settings, I get an error also.

Try updating your iTunes using an iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe) installer file downloaded from the Apple website:

    Hi Myo Ko Ko Aung,
When iTunes reports this error during the restoration of an iOS device, it typically indicates a conflict with security software.
Related errors: 2, 4, 6, 9, 1000, 1611, 9006. Sometimes security software can prevent your device from communicating with either the Apple update server or with your device.
Check your security software and settings to make sure that they aren't preventing a connection to the Apple servers.

  • Getting iTunes Burning Error

First, this is a Windows Vista 64-Bit HP Computer with the latest version and Updates from iTunes.
2nd, I've used iTunes since it was first introduced and consider myself an iTunes expert.
3rd, I've burned discs, CDs and MP3 discs too, for a while. I know exactly what I am doing.
4th, This computer was purchased just in the summer of 2009. It has a 750GB HD, quick processing speeds, memory, etc is all modern.
5th, My CD/DVD burner drive has worked since I bought the computer and this problem is new.
SO... suddenly, when I try to burn any Disc, CD or MP3, I get this error:
"The Attempt to Burn a CD failed. An Unknown Error occured (4261)" Not sure about the 4261 #, but I think that was it.
Here's what I have tried so far:
1 - Update software/firmware for drive. Update completed successfully, issue persists.
2 - Deleted iTunes and QuickTime. Re-installed Both, latest versions for Windows 64-Bit, etc.
    3 - Recalibrated disc drive.
4 - Tried LightScribe Discs from TDK, from Memorex (failed and failed)
Switched to different brand of CD-Rs, NON-LightScribe (Failed)

Here is an apple article on that.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1374
The easiest things to try are
    1) See if you can burn using a different burning program (my PC came with Nero, for example)
    2) Use a different brand disc (Maxell instead of Sony, for example)

  • I have an Ipod Classic, one day he appears without music, now that i want to sync with my itunes an error occur. I download all the new itunes version and ipod software but again error. How do I make it work?

My ipod classic, have these problem:
One day I find out that all the music was completely gone, I always charged the ipod on Ihome.
So, I connect the ipod to my computer to sync the music, but mi computer recognize the ipod as a memory device. so delete itunes from my computer, following some support guides that i found in the mac support web. Again, it didnt work. The itunes doesnt detect it.
then I try to sync on a macbook, then it told it was corrupted i should restore th ipod, i try it but this could not be done... cause an error occur.
How I can restore my ipod...

Does both your Windows and Macbook iTunes have the same library of songs?
if it  does then, much easier to proceed, else try to load the Macbook with the same library as Windows.
Note that only one of the Macbook USB port is good for iPod Classic, the other is too slow and may cause timeout, and I would suggest disconnect all other USB devices, while you Restore or Sync the iPod Classic.
Connect the iPod to the Mac, (if iTunes launch, please close it back.)
Use Disk Utility -> select the iPod Device->First Aid->Repair (use option FAT32)
After the Repair complete, eject the iPod.
    Connect back to the Mac
When iTunes launch, Restore the iPod when Prompted, (use FAT32)
    Sync your library.
    Good Luck!

  • ITunes 12 'error occurred converting the file the disk is not available'

    Hi,
looking for some advice on an issue with importing disks into iTunes 12.0.01.26 on Windows 7
I import a CD and the first song generally imports successfully
However I noticed the second song (or sometimes the fourth) fails with the following :
'error occurred converting the file the disk is not available'
I can manually untick the first songs that have imported successfully and re-import the remainder.
Generally another song will import and the error will reoccur. I can continue this laborious process until the CD is fully imported
I can rip CD's using Windows Media Player without any issue so it doesn't look like an optical drive issue
I have checked under Preferences - Advanced and the iTunes media folder is apparent. I'm using an external drive for my iTunes Library.
    Attempts to Resolve
I tested by setting up an iTunes library under my C:\ and the issue reoccurs.
I've tried repairing the installation but it made no difference.
I tried removing the iTunesPreferences.plist file - no difference
I have switched off (and back on) the automatic prompt to import CD's
Turned off and on error checking when importing CD's
I have noticed the prompt to import the CD can pop up at least twice, often again when an import is underway
I would be grateful for any suggestions on remedial steps I could take!
    Many Thanks
    Paul

  • ITunes - An Error occured while connecting to the remote speaker. (-15000)

I have been using airportexpress for the last 9 months with no problem. I used to use Windows Vista (32bit) to play itunes music and stream the music to the airportexpress which connects to my living room AV system.
Couple of days ago, I rebuilt my machine now running Win7 (64bit). Since then, I am not able to stream the audio to the airport express. Whenever I select the remote speakers, wait for about 30 secs and I get this error : An error occurred while connecting to the remote speakers "livingroom". An unknown error occured (-150000).
Does anyone experience this ? From the same machine, I am able to connect to the airport express using the airport utility. Wireless is working fine. I just not able to stream my music to it.
    Regards
    Moehadi

moehadi, Welcome to the discussion area!
This is typically caused by a firewall or Internet security software running on your PC. Please read the comments in "Error -3256 or -15000 when streaming to AirPort Express base stations using iTunes".
Also there is "iTunes 8: Unknown error -15000 when attempting to stream music to devices connected to AirPort Express with AirTunes".

  • Can't play song in ipod with itunes. Error occured (-6999)

Hello, I recently installed itunes on my new computer with windows 7 and I am unable to play the songs in my ipod through my itunes. At first when I plug in my ipod it begins to sync. I can see my entire playlist then but after a while syncing I can only see about 1/3 of all my songs. When i click on a song to play it has an exclaimation mark beside it and does not play.
It then gives me an error messange, "the ipod cannot be synced. an unknown error occured (-6999)".
Help please. My ipod can play with my old laptop on itunes just fine and they are using the same version of itunes.

one month later Im still having this problem. I have a dell xps 1645 with the new i7 processor. it runs windows 7 on 64 bits

  • I cannot update my iTunes with"error occurred while installing updates"

Ever since I updated my Windows Vista Laptop to Service Pack 2, iTunes has not been able to update with the a popup with "error occurred while installing updates. If the problems persist choose Tools > Download Only". And i DID have to Reinstall iTunes from scratch, so please help me. I really want to get rid of this problem thats been bothering me for 2 years
    Thanks

I've got it to work. If that's the same error you received, then I have to assume you're using Windows 64-bit (as all the people I found with the same problem do). This was what worked for me, courtesy of Shiggity from sevenforums.com -
Go to "C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu", right-click "Programs" and select "Properties".
On the Security Tab, Click "Advanced".
Go to the Owner tab, and Click "Edit".
Change the owner to yourself, Check "Replace owner on subcontainers and objects", and Click OK.
And then re-run the installation. Hope that works!

  • ITunes burning error 2131

Well this is now the 2nd time this has occurred for me. Quite frankly it proves what the people said on overclock.net. Running apple products on a PC is a joke. Error after error...on going nuisances. Really I don't know if I can take much more of this. I'd just like to know 2 things in this little rant/question topic. First being what causes this error. Now before you say its my drive giving me the error. Thats wrong as I've burned CD's with other software and I do have the latest firmware updates for my drive (Samsung). Secondly, can WinAmp serve as iTunes for updating iPods as well as installing songs on. If it's as easy as working with iTunes minus the errors and gives better quality (I've heard it does) then I might as well switch. However would I have to have iTunes on my PC at all if I do this?

I downloaded the link you had posted with no success. I was hoping maybe someone could tell me something regarding the info I pasted from the diagnostics test. Thanks for your time and assistance.
