Itunes burning error 4880 (tried suggestions)

sorry wrong place

Here is an apple article on that.
http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1374
The easiest things to try are
1) See if you can burn using a different burning program (my PC came with Nero, for example)
2) Use a different brand disc (Maxell instead of Sony, for example)

I cannot uninstall or install itunes.  error is 'trying to use on a network resource that is unavailable'.  I cannot find  path to any folders containing installation package itunes.msi.  Unable to download itunes since 2 updates ago and crashed computer.    Windows update as suggested in some posts does not assist either.
Can anyone assist me?  Thank you so much

Should the advice above not fix things for you...
For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
The further information area has direct links to the current and recent builds in case you have problems downloading, need to revert to an older version or want to try the iTunes for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) release as a workaround for installation or performance issues, or compatibility with QuickTime or third party software.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there are also links to backup and recovery advice should it be needed.

  • Suddenly can't burn - Error 4880.

    Greetings all.
I've recently started using iTunes and have bought songs in three rounds so far. The first two times I was able to burn down my songs to CD so I could listen to them on a CD-player.... but not so any more. Each time I try I now get an "unknown error - 4880".
From what I can see here it seems to be an error covering many errors, but do anybody have some advice.
I've not changed anything regarding my CD-burner since I was able to burn and to now where I'm not.
    This is really annoying.

    Wierd.
I tried to remove authorisation for my computer to play, and then re-authorize and then I was allowed to burn 1 of my playlists but not the other... strange.
So I added the files I wanted to burn to the playlist I could burn from and it succeeeded.....
Sorry to say - but this burning functionality seems very buggy and quite sporadic.

  • Getting iTunes sharing error when trying to share iPhoto journals?

I am trying to get information from my iPad onto my macair. I have about 12 iPhoto journals on the iPad I am trying to export to the mac as html files.
I successfully did 3, but now I am getting an iTunes sharing error, it says ''there is not enough space left on this device to share all of the selected items''.
I know the iPad is full and I am trying to move all the files to free up space.  My first step was to move the journals then I plan to move all the underlying photos and albums from my recent overseas trip, mostly stored in iPhoto and camera roll.
I have the iPad connected via usb.  I would have thought this was a straight data transfer?  Or is it using iCloud in some way as I know that is at capacity also.
Any help you can give would be much appreciated.

I received this email from Apple and this corrected the problem for me...  I only had to reset the iTunes cache
    1) Open iTunes
    2) At the top menu, click File > Preferences (iTunes > Preferences on a Mac)
    3) In the Preferences menu, click the Advanced tab
    4) In the Advanced menu, you should see a button that says "Reset Cache". Please click this button.

  • ITunes Burning Error 4200 - Windows XP

I recently purchased an HPa1130n running iTunes 4.9. It was working fine up until a week ago when I started getting errors that say "cancelling burn... unknown error 4200". I have read a few posts in this forum and would like for someone to help me get my system back up and burning. I've done the obvious (slowing the speed, trying different disks, etc). I've also checked my DMA settings to ensure that they are correct. From what I have read so far, I think iTunes is having trouble communicating with my CD Burner.

    (2) New software added
I recently installed NERO then updated to 6.6 trial. I suspect that this has something to do with it as the last time i burned a CD sucessfully was a day before I installed/updated NERO.
    (3) I tried to alternatively burn in windows media player and was also unsucessful.
    (4) I see a ton of 7 or 8 events ranging from 100, 101, 102, 103 that are related to database engines but nothing related to iTunes. I see two ACEEventLogs from today:

    (5) It just got worse. I attempted to burn another disk and now I don't even get the error. When prompted to insert a blank disk and after clicking the burn icon, the top grey screen just blinks "checking media" a bunch of times then it times out. I don't even get to the "preparing to write" stage.
    Thanks again!

  • Getting iTunes Burning Error

First, this is a Windows Vista 64-Bit HP Computer with the latest version and Updates from iTunes.
2nd, I've used iTunes since it was first introduced and consider myself an iTunes expert.
3rd, I've burned discs, CDs and MP3 discs too, for a while. I know exactly what I am doing.
4th, This computer was purchased just in the summer of 2009. It has a 750GB HD, quick processing speeds, memory, etc is all modern.
5th, My CD/DVD burner drive has worked since I bought the computer and this problem is new.
SO... suddenly, when I try to burn any Disc, CD or MP3, I get this error:
"The Attempt to Burn a CD failed. An Unknown Error occured (4261)" Not sure about the 4261 #, but I think that was it.
Here's what I have tried so far:
1 - Update software/firmware for drive. Update completed successfully, issue persists.
2 - Deleted iTunes and QuickTime. Re-installed Both, latest versions for Windows 64-Bit, etc.
    3 - Recalibrated disc drive.
4 - Tried LightScribe Discs from TDK, from Memorex (failed and failed)
Switched to different brand of CD-Rs, NON-LightScribe (Failed)

  • Itunes Burn Error Occurred.

Every time I try to burn a CD, it never works. It would start burning the first song, and then suddenly, Itunes would cancel the disk burn and then a little thing would pop up:
"The attempt to burn a disk failed. An unknown error occurred (4000)."
Anyone know why this is happening?

Correction: I cannot burn CDs or DVDs of playlists in iTunes 6.0.1. I have no problem burning CDs in other applications and could burn CDs prior to updating to iTunes 6.

That one's consistent with disk/file damage. The first thing I'd try with that is running a disk check (chkdsk) over your C drive.
XP instructions in the following document: How to perform disk error checking in Windows XP
Vista instructions in the following document: Check your hard disk for errors
Windows 7 instructions in the following document: How to use CHKDSK (Check Disk)
Select both Automatically fix file system errors and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors, or use chkdsk /r (depending on which way you decide to go about doing this). You'll almost certainly have to schedule the chkdsk to run on startup. The scan should take quite a while ... if it quits after a few minutes or seconds, something's interfering with the scan.
Does the chkdsk find/repair any damage? If so, can you get an install to go through properly afterwards?

  • ITunes burning error 2131

Well this is now the 2nd time this has occurred for me. Quite frankly it proves what the people said on overclock.net. Running apple products on a PC is a joke. Error after error...on going nuisances. Really I don't know if I can take much more of this. I'd just like to know 2 things in this little rant/question topic. First being what causes this error. Now before you say its my drive giving me the error. Thats wrong as I've burned CD's with other software and I do have the latest firmware updates for my drive (Samsung). Secondly, can WinAmp serve as iTunes for updating iPods as well as installing songs on. If it's as easy as working with iTunes minus the errors and gives better quality (I've heard it does) then I might as well switch. However would I have to have iTunes on my PC at all if I do this?

I downloaded the link you had posted with no success. I was hoping maybe someone could tell me something regarding the info I pasted from the diagnostics test. Thanks for your time and assistance.

  • ITunes giving error when trying to play mp3 podcast file I created

I'm testing a new podcast feed at the moment and I am unsure of the issue.
The MP3 was created in Adobe Audition 3.0
If I drag the mp3 directly into iTunes it plays it no problem.
If I put the Podcast URL directly into a browser all of the info displays and I can download the file.
But if I subscribe to the feed in iTunes, it does display all of the information etc and does list the podcast in the podcast section, but I get the error, "The File might be corrupted, or a file type that iTunes cannot play" yet it does play it if I drag the file into iTunes directly.
    Any advise please?

    Hi Michelle,
i don't see which disk is used to create the fileshare. There isn't such a configuration.
This is how the config looks like for the Cluster where it is not working:
And this is the cluster where everything is working:
The fileshare resource is usually created by the SQL Server Configuration Manager. This also happens in my case, but the problem is that it is immediately removed again without further specification of what the problem is.
The SQL Server log is also not very helpful. The attempt is not registered in the server log. Just the retry is logged saying that the configuration might be inconsistent:
