Itunes burning question

anyone know what the real difference is, when about to burn a CD from itunes, under preferences/burning, whats the diff between choosing "AUDIO CD" or
"MP3 CD". Obviously a "DVD/DATA CD", can hold more music, but will it play on a CD player? If a car stereo has "MP3" capabilities, do i burn the disc in MP3 format? or "AUDIO CD" format??? is one better?
thanks!!

An audiophile will talk all day about the quality issue. But in a car with my 63 year-old ears, I can't perceive any difference.
I wonder why you only got 19 songs on an MP3 CD. The last time I did one I put on 35 MP3s with room to spare.
Here's a good comparison article: http://support.radioshack.com/supporttutorials/audiovideo/mp3-3.htm

  • Does iTunes Burn Track-At-Once or Disc-At-Once?

I've been trying to find the answer online but I haven't found a definite answer yet. I've seen a few web postings which seem to indicate it burns TAO but I'm still not sure. I do know that iTunes doesn't offer the option to burn TAO or DAO like other burning programs. If it does indeed burn TAO, why is that so? From what I understand, DAO is considered the best method so why doesn't iTunes burn using that method? And since all of my discs have been burned using iTunes does that mean they're of lesser quality than if they had been burned using DAO? Thanks to anyone who can answer these questions and settle my confusion.

    From the iPad User Manual:
Position the insertion point: Touch and hold to bring up the magnifying glass, then drag to position the insertion point. Select text: Tap the insertion point to display the selection buttons. Tap Select to select the adjacent word, or tap Select All to select all text.

  • Resolution to iTunes Burn ID3 issue

Here is one resolution to not getting the ID3 tags when burning in iTunes
Go to edit>preferences>advanced>burning> if the audio CD is checked then your CD will not have the ID3 tags. But it will play in all or most CD players.
To get the ID3 tages you must have Data CD/DVD checked. If the music is bought @ iTunes music store and you give this disk to someone else or put it on one of your other computers you can transfer the music to your iTunes and it will have all the ID3 tags but you will have to autorize that computer to be able to play that music. You can have 3 or 5 computers authorized under your name. This is one of the ways to do it if you are backing up your iTunes.
If you have MP3 checked you will also have the ID3 tags and I am assuming this will take care of the problems people are having using iTunes burned CD in their CD Players that display ID3 Tag info
Hopefully this helps with some of the ID3 tag issues while burning in iTunes.

It overwrites the Artist too, it seems.
Do you know how it is setting the "Podcast is true" setting, and how I can disable that??
This is all very confusing and annoying. iTunes 4.9 didn't do much of this, and it was a better podcast client in my mind. iTunes 5.0 making me consider switching to another podcast client so I can have one that makes sense.

  • Itunes burns all but purchased music

I'm trying to burn a playlist of existing and purchased music, but each time it burns, it excludes the purchased music. I have never burned the purchased music before, so I haven't reached the 7 song limit, and I know I checked those boxes. The suggestions given by itunes haven't helped. The CDs are fine otherwise. Any help is appreciated.

1st check if your purchased music will play on your Mac - maybe you need to authorize those tracks.
2nd check twice if your iTunes Burning Preferences are set to "AudioCD" (or DATA DVD/CD) as purchased music can't be burned to MP3 CDs.

  • Can iTunes burn DVDs into our idevices?

Since burn CDs is a piece of cake but can iTunes burn DVDs into our idevices.

I haven't tried to convert DVDs to iPod yet (had it for a week) but in the past I tried to convert DVDs to my PocketPC handheld using many tools and found that there is no quick, easy and trouble-free way to do it. The fact that Apple chose to use specific (proprietary) video codecs does not help. You have to get your hands dirty, learn a lot about video, codecs, bitrates and so on. It was more time and energy than I was willing to spend. I may give it another try though. I bought the Apple AV cable to view video on TV and it'd be a shame to not use it.
You may find some tutorials and other conversion tools at this website: www.dvdrhelp.com, they also have discussion forums. (hope it's ok to post this link)

  • ITunes burned CD track info does not show in another mac.

iTunes burns a CD of imported LPs.  Track info was entered with Audacity, saved as aiff and then imported into iTunes .  The track info shows up in my car CD player but not another mac.  Any suggestions?

Update: after trying 6 discs that failed, the next few worked fine. Both iTunes and Finder displayed the actual disk name and track names. However, going back to the previously failed disks did not change the outcome. They still failed. That worked for another 6 or so disks, then this morning I ran across another one that got looked up in iTunes, but not in Finder.

    Hi Carollmt,
I love sharing playlists with people too.  The instructions for syncing an iPod can be found at the following link:
iTunes: Syncing media content to iPod
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1351
If is the first time you are syncing your husband's iPod with your computer, it will remove his music currently on his iPod and replace it with the music you are trying to sync.  If you don't want to remove the music currently on your husband's iPod, you can transfer your music to his iTunes library using Home Sharing.  Expand the Home Sharing section in the following article for steps to setup Home Sharing and use it to transfer music:

Thank you for posting in the Apple Support Communities.

  • Why won't itunes burn second disc

everytime i try to burn a playlist that requires multiple discs itunes burns the first one but when i insert second disc it ejects the disc again and asks for a blank disc i have tried different makes of disc and tried different drives and the same keeps happening

I found a work-around.  May not work for everyone but it did work for me.  My wife has her itunes on another computer on our home network.  We do sharing of our itunes libraries.  It is an older computer using Windows XP and she hasn't updated her itunes for a while.  On a hunch, I shared my copy of the audiobook with her itunes library.  I then tried burning her copy to CD's and it worked fine.  Actually, it also updated the number of burn copies available.  When I was having problems on my Mac - each time I had an unsuccessful attempt it will take one more of the available burn copies.  "You have burned 4 copies of 7 available.  You have burned 5 copies of 7 available, etc."
When I burned the copy from my wife's computer, it said, "You have burned 1 copy of 7 available."
I know this solution won't work for everyone, but it did work for me.  Good luck. - SS

If you have a rescue email address on your account (an alternate email address is different) then you can use that to reset them : If you forgot the answers to your Apple ID security questions
If you don't have a rescue email address (you won't be able to add one until you can answer your questions) then you will have to contact Support in your country to get the questions reset.
Contacting Apple about account security : Contact Apple for help with Apple ID account security
If your country isn't on that page then try this form and explain and see what they reply with : https://ssl.apple.com/emea/support/itunes/contact.html
When they've been reset, and if you don't already have a rescue email address, you can then add one for potential future use : Manage your Apple ID primary, rescue, alternate, and notification email addresses
Or if it's available in your country you could change to 2-step verification : Frequently asked questions about two-step verification for Apple ID

So I've had this iTunes account for 2 years, but I recently authorized a new computer (which is the only computer authorized for my account). So I go to make a purchase (using an iTunes gift card) and it asks me to verify my identity by answering my security questions. Well guess what? I was an idiot and never wrote my answers down (or I did and just lost them). So how do I change my iTunes security questions?
